NurseyNancy, Cook died of a gasto-intenstinal hemorrhage, drink related, and quit smoking shortly after.
Certainly I agree people should be informed of the health risks of smoking, but I don't know if such a militant attitude is altogether helpful to your cause. One might be forgiven for thinking you work for a tobacco company. You know, victory in the belly of the beast.
NurseyNancy, you might be right healthwise, but I imagine that you are not a brilliant comic, have no notable literary output, aren't a capable musician or an artist who has produced any work that the world might enjoy.
Not to suggest creative people are smokers or vice versa, but I do suggest you an an idiot making totally inappropriate remarks.
This episode of "Saturday Night Clive" was first broadcast on November 16th 1991.

Virtually all of these famous (& non-famous) smokers die young.
Christopher Hitchens unfortunately looks like he will be one of the next.
I understand why people might take drugs to get a high but nicotine addicts seem to get no kick at all from their drug - just a probable early death.
Seems like an exceedingly stupid habit to me.
