I am a bit confused...isn't GuruMayi Chidvilasananda the Guru that followed Muktananda (originally she & her brother, but then he fell from grace, and supposedly recovered- but she carried on the Siddha tradition)...who are these folks, and did Muktananda ever officially empower them ? Curious...
they are swamis,apart from cohen,they were made swamis by the saraswati order of monks in india,muktananda was there guru,guru mayi is also a swami and so is her brother,muktananda encourage them to be swamis,the authority of the saraswati order is under the shankaracharya.
the real sidha from the muktananda ashram was swami prakashananda,he was a disciple of muktananda ,he was a great sidha who left the body a while back now.
i liked to see the sidha sri godavari mataji,she was a great sidha who said prakashananda was a great sidha and she said gurumayi and her brother were just beginners.i also liked to see sri dhyanyogi the great kundalini sidha,he also said gurumayi and her brother were just beginners.
It's interesting that she might say that, for many reasons, but, to the best of my knowledge, GuruMayi and her brother were NOT swamis, but were explicitly made successors to Muktananda by Muktananda. Thanks for posting all the info...I am aware of the other great Siddhas and the many that Muktananda encountered on his way to Bade Baba...many great teachers and souls...all truly are pieces of the puzzle that is Shiva ! its not a question of claims a sidha sets up his own ashram ,that it ,he does not need others or claims,a sidha is happy if none come to see him or the whole world comes to see him.prakashananda had his own ashram and following in nasik muktananda asked him to run the syda yoga but he wisely turned down muktananda.a real sidha does not run big yoga ashrams as a general rule sometimes but mostly not.
Part II...4) There are also, once again I stress claims, that there was some sort of bad blood betwixt Gurumayi & Prakashananda before his death. Who knows the details ? Not I, as I was not there. Chetananandas re: his concern for the reaction of devotees to his words, indicates his own"reaction. Enlightened masters re: Guru/disciple relationship, teach in a state of non-attachment (vairaigya). They have great compassion for their devotees but are not affected by their actions. One's response to whatever the Guru says/does is strictly mind & ego working out its own attachments -part of the learning process. In my opinion, these guys are not yet fully baked.

The human ego is a hard nut to crack. I know these people from my 17 years in Siddha Yoga. I have found that these swamis can get lost in the egotism of being a swami and somehow lose the real understanding of yoga, which is to get rid of all beliefs about you until pure consciousness is all that is experienced.
Sometimes letting the world be your guru is stronger than being safe in an ashram.

first is transcendence of the mind (I am it/ unity/ all is one)
then in meditation on this, the mind has the opposite realization (I am it/ It is me)
the old concept of self as a separate victim ends and the mind begins to create a new idea of self. Andrew calls it "authentic self" which is a person who acts as what he is. everything/nothing.
i know by research and experience. my opinion and others.

When I look at teh fossil record, and I have looked at it for 40 years, I see no transitional forms at all. Only distinct, separate species, with no obvious connection to each other. The believers project belief on these fossils and make up a lot of HEMG conclusions. There are no transitional features; no partial legs, or partial wings in developement in any creature.

The fossil record has creatures that came into existence, remained the same morphology for the duration of the species, then went extinct with no trail after that. The ones that remain are the same as they ever were. That is fact and all we know. We do not know, absolutely, how old any of them are.

Typically drug testing does not work so well. Because, if they knew how the human body actually works there would be no drug recalls, and no liver failure, heart failure, from drugs.

You do not understand what natural Samahadi is. It is a state of total awareness of body mind and from a position of utter objective observer that never stops once you are there. It is a state of constant bliss as well. Good and bad are not concepts except in the mind.

The GURU is one of those things in the universe that can be witnessed . its actions can be seen. What it IS does not lend itself to language. It is that energy that brings "enlightenment",another word used to the point that it has nearly lost its meaning. In the end its easier to say what the GURU is not. gurumayi is swami chidvilasananda,of the saraswati order,her brother is swami nityananda of the saraswati order,muktananda gave them the power to give shaktipat but muktananda said that they were both still at school,he never recognized them as sidhas ever.but muktananda did recognize prakashananda as a sidha and gave him his silver chair and silver crown and silver stick,when prakashananda attained God realization in 1968.may all find peace.

A few more to acknowledge your views (in two parts) Part I...1)I know there are many claims that there are others (numbers vary) besides Baba Muktananda who are heirs to Nityananda's lineage...2) There are many "Siddhas" beyond SYDA; beofre and after Nityananda...3) It is claimed by some Baba did ask Prakashananda to head Siddha years before he passed the lineage on (formally done in 5/82 before his death in 10/82)

its not a question of claims a sidha sets up his own ashram ,that it ,he does not need others or claims,a sidha is happy if none come to see him or the whole world comes to see him.prakashananda had his own ashram and following in nasik muktananda asked him to run the syda yoga but he wisely turned down muktananda.a real sidha does not run big yoga ashrams as a general rule sometimes but mostly not.

the details are gurumayi went to nasik were prakashananda lived and did not drop in to see him,prakashananda was upset by this and gurumayi had forgoten her manners,on the way back from nasik gurumayi was nearly killed in a car crash.gurumayi blamed the crash on prakshananda saying he was a black magician.prakashananda was a great sidha,this was her punishment for her bad maners to a sidha,some say.nityananda baba was a sidha but here are many sidhas in india then and now.

Actually, it's well documented that tm is extremely harmful to both body and mind; as are all one-size-fits-all meditation trance states, especially when combined with artificial breathing. And the self-styled Marharishi?? even the (surviving) Beatles have some less than complementary views on that con artist.

muktananda was not the only sidha in india the sidha tradition is made of many sidhas in india.muktananda himself went to see and get blessings from many sidhas ,some of them he mentions in his books,sidharudra swami.zipurana,harigiri baba.zipurana liked to rub his own shit over his body.
