  • A different Seattle.. That actually means a lot... Today, is not Seattle anymore,,, so sad :(

  • Thank you, Christina. And thank you, J.P.! You are my hero!

  • WOW - what a speech! Beautiful job, Christina. Definitely right on about the connection Patches Pals felt...it was love, mutual love between those guys and us kids.

And,,,J.P. never saw me on the ICU2TV either! Uh, oh... ; )

  • Happy Birthday JP!

  • I was there at the statue unveiling and I cried during this speech and when JP/Gertude came on stage- and Guess what I saw other Patches Pals around me also with Tears in their eyes. Chris & Bob touched our Hearts and will be remembered and cherished

  • J.P. Patches: the greatest thing Seattle ever produced.

  • This young lady was absolutely marvelous - not a dry eye in the place that day. Much love there.

  • 1:32 Hilarious! JP forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That was an awesome tribute! J.P.'s grand daughter is a great speaker! I was teared up! It was very heartfelt!

  • Thank you Christina. We love you Chris and Bob!

  • Seattles best Mayor so far. Hey, come to think of it, shouldn't the mayor we have now be wearing clown make-up?

  • Thank you Christina. This was great. And thank you too JP!

  • JP and Gertrude were the grand martials at the 1976 Viking Fest Parade in Poulsbo. I was in cub scouts at the time and my pack were in the parade. They also made an appearence at the old JCPenney's in Bremerton. The building's a parking garage now. The speech Chris' granddaughter made was excellant. Well deserved, Chris and Bob.

  • I grew up with a painful childhood. He daily provided relief from that pain. It is with tears in my eyes that I write this. I wrote him and told him how he helped me. He was so kind in his letter that he wrote back

  • Goodness Gracious Boys and Girls!!

  • What a great day this was! Great speech at the dedication of a statue for JP and Gertrude in Fremont on August 17th, 2008. Congratulations to them both!

  • Congratulations J.P and Gertrude!

I'm a long-time Patches Pal and I still say J.P. was the best darn mayor the Seattle City Dump ever had!

    Bravo!!!

  • He played a big part in many lives. Saved many lives. Came while I was in at 'childrens' after and almost fatal car accident, to visit me(his wing). I watched his shows always all my years growing up. Called him on KISW. He is a big part of who I am today, for my family had parted, and was distant from me. He gave a sense of closeness. I Love you Chris, for all you have done. I knew you were gonna make a HUGE impact on us, and hope our children learn from you, via your love for us. Love,Monika
