Outstanding song, done by an elder talented person that compliments the tune as he is known for, and a video joins all these three together in a harmony of romance & beauty.
Stunningly beautiful, the song and the video!! Live right next door lol..and all four seasons are having each their own beauty...fall being the most colorful!!! Thank you so much for putting this lovely post together .....TC...Marianne
Wow, This video and the music was just beautiful. It makes you want to go there right away. So very peaceful looking and relaxing looking who just would not want to live there. I live in a city and when is the next plane leaving cause I am on it. Thank you for sharing. God Bless
Thank You So Much for the Time you took to make this. My mother and I sat and held hands... looking at the pictures. My Uncle "Bucky" Meadows payed with Willie. Im sure my Mom had alot of memories going through her mind as we watched... to reminisce. Again.. Ty for taking time to make it. VERY GORGEOUS!!!!!! God Bless!
Could not have picked a better song..............willie is the man. Seen him sing this twice in VT, both were as the sun was setting over Lake Champlain.
Great stuff! Ive visited Vermont many times and each time felt that it was my home - its much like the hill country in the north of England and especially the Isle of Man. Prefer the Ella version though.
Very nice photos, but spend a little time with a photo editor getting your horizon level and adding a little contrast. Also some colors are pretty weird, like the blue road at around 3:10.
@trb47 Heard him say that in an interview, also. He said for a song with no ryming verses,it was the most beautiful composition he ever had the pleasure of singing! My parents bought that album when it came out and played the hell out of it!! No wonder it stayed on the charts for like 21 years!!
While I'm not a "dyed in the wool" country fan, being more of a jazz person, I' have gone to his concerts and seen Wille in person . But I've never heard anyone do this great piece with such feeling! Lar.
It's a hard place to live unless you are rich, retired, or can support your own business as it really is not the center of industry or youth. It is, a retirement state for sure.
You'll be surprised. There are going to be new opportunities that we didn't have before. While parts of the country have already expericend boom and growth, Vermont still has lots of potential. Besides, more and more companies are starting to allow telecommuting. I personally work out of my house. Our company shutdown all the offices and made everyone work out of their house. i love it.
vermont is the most beautiful place in the world ( no offense to anywhere else ) ,,, but I grew up in Florida, moved to VT, then to Connecticut. Vermont is the best place I have ever lived. For all you tree hugging, long Trail drinking, Civil Unified people out there.. I LOVE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!!!!!!!!
I couldn't agree more with you! I was born and raised in Texas, and I hate Texas. I looked all over the USA for a place to move, I visited about 15 states and finally settled for Vermont. It is the most beautiful state, hands down. You can't beat the nature, and how friendly and open minded people are. I am so glad I moved up there! I have finally found a place I can really call home.
Haha, I find that just funny since Willie Nelson (the one singing the song) is from Texas and did an album about "there's a little bit of everything in Texas". I dunno what Texas is like since I've never been there except through it on a train.
i love vermont, i vacation there every summer and when we have to leave i feel like crying especially when you get further away and the mountians start to disapeer...its such a beautiful place.
I know what you mean. :( I haven't completely moved out of Texas so I fly back-and-forth between Vermont & Texas. I always hate it when it comes time to leave Vermont. It is just such a contrast, Vermong is so beautiful, and Texas is juse so ugly and hot. I also love the moutains. I had never lived in a place before where I can honestly say I love all the Seasons. I can't wait to finally move there permanently.
I live in Florida also and there is something about Vermont that speaks to the soul. If I ever get a chance to get out of here, Vermont here I come...
you guys are all so kind! Born and raised daryfarmer from VT, but right now its winter and well alot of people dont visit in the winter for a reason!haha

Willie sang this song last evening and said it was his favorite. Since he sang it in Vermont it was extra special.

Anybody got the Maynard Ferguson arrangement with Irene Kraal as the vocalist. That's awesome. It's on his "Boy With Lots of Brass" album. Total.

Not a classic Willie Nelson song, one of my favorites from the late 70's. Love the visuals they match perfectly with the song and his mood.
