@Piecar they saw how everything and how it would turn out for someone that gets bitten becomes a zombie but the reason why they were very surprise because they haven't seen how it all works out scientifically and why a person bitten dies from the bites and it's interesting how it is all explained from the very beginning of transformation to end

There's no stretch in, "He's dead, no synapse activitiy" There was no science there, just video. The biggest thing we got is that it attacks like meningitis. Also, it's a mistake to chase the cause in this genre....And it's so so Off Book from Kirkman's vision.

@TheFunnyman244 Well....The big thing is that zombies don't really get pulling to get where they want to go, only pushing. There was a bed in front of that door and they would have to pull it out of the way to get at the door. Also, in a coma, Rick was quiet and unmoving. And in a hospital full of dead, his smell was masked. It's a legitimate thing to believe he survived from the dead...Starvation seems the big question, though. He'd be damned hungry or thirsty, wouldn't he?
@Piecar I thought about starvation at first too, but I figured he had an IV drip attatched since he was in a coma not eating anyway. I'm not sure anymore.
I was thinking more of bed sores from laying in one postion for however long it was. I dont know if it would have killed him eventually, but he certainly wouldn't have been able to stand up and walk away.

@lordmahan11 The walking dead is a character driven survival horror with zombies and action set into second place. The action is brilliant when it happens, but it focuses on the real time, day to day dealings with survivors. Like you said, mental deterioration, the emotional impact of losing friends, and losing everyday items you come to live with IE vibrator, no spill coffee machine ;)

Rick is my favorite character, a man fully capable of fighting and winning if need be but willing to find a peaceful solution if possible. It is because of men like him that I dream of becoming a LEO, specifically a K-9 Officer, and then a U.S. Marshal. I grew up watching Walker, Texas Ranger. I want to be like Cordell and Rick, someone not to mess with, taking the criminals down and see all the heavy series action. In fact the agencies I am considering allow Cowboy Hats like the one Rick wears.
I really like how Rick got his Cowboy Hat back. It was great that Glenn got it for him. I liked it when Rick pulled on his bag of guns, then saw his hat and knowing this was a chance to recover it, probably the only one he would ever get, grabbed it. I know I would. I wear my Cowboy Hat constantly. Everyone has some possesions they cannot live without and for me it is one. If I lost it and had a chance to retrieve I would take it in a flash. I could replace it but I would attempt to retrieve it.
Now this episode looks good. It has much higher amounts of science fiction then previous episodes. I have to say this series is really getting good. I really like it where Dr. Jenner chose to allow Rick and his group to enter instead of leaving them outside. Hopefully they can help each other. I am glad the series is changed somewhat from the comic book series it is based on. If the episodes followed it competely I think Shane would be dead by now. I hope it is left completely out of the series.
I just googled episode six, and looked at the cast for that episode.
It seems like Merle and Morgan, the father in the first episode, will return in this episode. Seeing as this is the last episode of this season, does that mean Murle might go on a rampage and kill people? Also theres a mention of an infected doctor.

episode 5 only had 2 zombies in it ..... zombie Amy, an the one before the doors opened at the end of the show ( If ya don't count Jim's flashback/nightmares). Not the best episode but it wasn't that bad.

it might have been light on the action, but I wouldn't consider it boring. To get around this being a typical zombie flick type of show it needs to built personalities with the characters, so that we the audience attach to them . . or at least one or two. This episode changes the "feel" of the show and is just as unpredictable as the other episodes.
Ive been none stop standing up for this show on youtube cause people kept complaining that it wasnt following the comic enough, I just hoped that they were adding minor plot stories, like in the last one they narrowed it down to the more accurate characters. But now im getting worried, they left a major part out that was surposed to happen at the camp, and now this. I'm beginning to feel iffy, They should stick to the comics..
Ive read every walking dead comic till now and this is more an 'inspired by' than an adaptation. A lot of things are different, but I like it that way, because I dont really know what will happen next and that is the whole point of walking dead imho. I loved the vatos episode and cant wait for ts19, both things that werent in the comics.
they practically show everything thats going to happen in the promos, if youve seen the trailer for episode 5 then you practically saw that whole episode
has anyone seen day of the dead? episode 6 is going to end badly for someone at the hands of the scientist... so that he may continue his research. but he's going to get fucked up.
i'm just interested in any zombie lore they're going to discuss about how the virus works. or how one might find the cure if one had the resources. but we've seen that this lone scientist is lacking one important resource - competance (and maybe sanity).

The series started off as a cool Survivor drama based Apocolypse show, showing everyday people dealing with a a Zombie outbreak, it was refreshing and well done with very cool zombie make up etc. Seeing this makes me worried though, now its starting to go down the B-Movie route with government scientists, laboratories etc (I hate it when they use the whole "talking computer" thing, its so lame) Hopefully its more than that but that is the vibe this sneak peak gives off.
@Dandanzoomzoom Well the first season is only 6 episodes so this next episode is going to be the last. But AMC already announced a 13 episode second season.
Remember, they are taking old routes in new ways. Many of the base elements of zombie stories still exist here, but they use it in such ways that are astounding. I've seen this show take rough ideas that I've seen before in B-movie zombie flicks that had failed originally, and then make it a masterpiece. Have an open mind, and you'll be stunned at the level of entertainment that is reached. =)
@lordmahan11 Jesus pal, I love this show like the next guy but your making it sound like Othello. It's just a zombie show, thus it willl probably end up stupid and slapstick by season 3. You'll end up watching it while rolling your eyes at the new characters Rick walks into, you know, teenagers with hormones and dead-panned acting getting killed by greyish looking people. Think House of the Dead movie and make that into a TV show.
Heh, I seriously doubt any TV show can reach anywhere near the level Othello has attained. However, what's great about this show is it's not just a zombie show; it's writers and directors have taken the time to make it transcend that. This is a show that reveals the human condition. It only uses the zombie apocalypse as a mere backdrop, something to cast stark contrast against to fuel impact and sharpen meaning. Just have some faith man. You never know what you'll find. ;)

There is a strong fundamentally mechanical difference in the way a story is told between a TV show and a comic, just like between a novel and a movie or a short story and a novel. I'm afraid your complaint simply cannot be justified. In the art of story telling, all things must be in accordance with certain basic principles. Those principles are different for every mode of telling. You must view the TV show in the light of an independent entity, not a remake of the comic. =)
Read the comics. I hope the is no cure; the dead are dead, nothing more. They've spoiled a very cool story and made it some scientish-military-crappy-zombie-story. I hope they make it up in season 2. Don't insult me, it's just my opinion.

I really like how Rick got his Cowboy Hat back. It was great that Glenn got it for him. I liked it when Rick pulled on his bag of guns, then saw his hat and knowing this was a chance to recover it, probably the only one he would ever get, grabbed it. I know I would. I wear my Cowboy Hat constantly. Everyone has some possesions they cannot live without and for me it is one. If I lost it and had a chance to retrieve I would take it in a flash. I could replace it but I would attempt to retrieve it.

Now this episode looks good. It has much higher amounts of science fiction then previous episodes. I have to say this series is really getting good. I really like it where Dr. Jenner chose to allow Rick and his group to enter instead of leaving them outside. Hopefully they can help each other. I am glad the series is changed somewhat from the comic book series it is based on. If the episodes followed it competely I think Shane would be dead by now. I hope it is left completely out of the series.

I just googled episode six, and looked at the cast for that episode.
It seems like Merle and Morgan, the father in the first episode, will return in this episode. Seeing as this is the last episode of this season, does that mean Murle might go on a rampage and kill people? Also theres a mention of an infected doctor.
DAMN I CANT WAIT!!! The Walking dead is absolutely bad ass.

episode 5 only had 2 zombies in it ..... zombie Amy, an the one before the doors opened at the end of the show ( If ya don't count Jim's flashback/nightmares). Not the best episode but it wasn't that bad.

it might have been light on the action, but I wouldn't consider it boring. To get around this being a typical zombie flick type of show it needs to built personalities with the characters, so that we the audience attach to them . . or at least one or two. This episode changes the "feel" of the show and is just as unpredictable as the other episodes.

Ive been none stop standing up for this show on youtube cause people kept complaining that it wasnt following the comic enough, I just hoped that they were adding minor plot stories, like in the last one they narrowed it down to the more accurate characters. But now im getting worried, they left a major part out that was surposed to happen at the camp, and now this. I'm beginning to feel iffy, They should stick to the comics..

Ive read every walking dead comic till now and this is more an 'inspired by' than an adaptation. A lot of things are different, but I like it that way, because I dont really know what will happen next and that is the whole point of walking dead imho. I loved the vatos episode and cant wait for ts19, both things that werent in the comics.

has anyone seen day of the dead? episode 6 is going to end badly for someone at the hands of the scientist... so that he may continue his research. but he's going to get fucked up.
i'm just interested in any zombie lore they're going to discuss about how the virus works. or how one might find the cure if one had the resources. but we've seen that this lone scientist is lacking one important resource - competance (and maybe sanity).

The series started off as a cool Survivor drama based Apocolypse show, showing everyday people dealing with a a Zombie outbreak, it was refreshing and well done with very cool zombie make up etc. Seeing this makes me worried though, now its starting to go down the B-Movie route with government scientists, laboratories etc (I hate it when they use the whole "talking computer" thing, its so lame) Hopefully its more than that but that is the vibe this sneak peak gives off.

Remember, they are taking old routes in new ways. Many of the base elements of zombie stories still exist here, but they use it in such ways that are astounding. I've seen this show take rough ideas that I've seen before in B-movie zombie flicks that had failed originally, and then make it a masterpiece. Have an open mind, and you'll be stunned at the level of entertainment that is reached. =)

@lordmahan11 Jesus pal, I love this show like the next guy but your making it sound like Othello. It's just a zombie show, thus it willl probably end up stupid and slapstick by season 3. You'll end up watching it while rolling your eyes at the new characters Rick walks into, you know, teenagers with hormones and dead-panned acting getting killed by greyish looking people. Think House of the Dead movie and make that into a TV show.

Heh, I seriously doubt any TV show can reach anywhere near the level Othello has attained. However, what's great about this show is it's not just a zombie show; it's writers and directors have taken the time to make it transcend that. This is a show that reveals the human condition. It only uses the zombie apocalypse as a mere backdrop, something to cast stark contrast against to fuel impact and sharpen meaning. Just have some faith man. You never know what you'll find. ;)

Now that this Scientist/Doctor guy has lost his best samples of "fresh" infected human tissue , they should go back and pick up Jim and they can get sample from him to carry on trying to find a cure . . . He wasnt looking good at the end of Ep 5 but might not have turned into a walker yet ......they could just catch him in time !

There is a strong fundamentally mechanical difference in the way a story is told between a TV show and a comic, just like between a novel and a movie or a short story and a novel. I'm afraid your complaint simply cannot be justified. In the art of story telling, all things must be in accordance with certain basic principles. Those principles are different for every mode of telling. You must view the TV show in the light of an independent entity, not a remake of the comic. =)
