Je ne sais pourquoi je commente...j'ai lu de telles horreurs...!!!! C'est évident, cette musique est de qualité, cet organiste la rend accessible à tous ! Merci pour lui ! D.BABEL
Had this at our wedding three years ago and it was so lovely to walk down the aisle to, it's a nice speed, not too rushed. Just love it and it still makes me smile everytime I listen to it.
Love the pedal work! I had been going back and forth on what to have played as the recessional at my wedding, and you've convinced me there's no other song I'd rather hear as I make my grand exit!
Belle transposition à l'orgue du Te Deum de Charpentier ...interprétation un peu troplente toutefois...ce qui lui donne une certaine grandeur mais lui enlève quelque peu son côté festif.
I'm a Brit born in "'fiftysomething," and thus a child of the heroic pre-satellite age of the Eurovision Song Contest. with its desperate multilingual cries of "Norvege - nul point" and "CAN YOU HEAR ME LISBON??" So I'm used to this piece as the contest's rooty-tooty fanfare signature tune, with pretty lights in the logo.
Good to hear it played more like a triumphal march. I mean, aren't we about to sing a Te Deum here? What's the RUSH?
@swedisse hope that you're deeply Catholic, cause te Deum Laudamus is in itself (beside the intro) old-style Christian song, confirming in itself most of the dogmas of the Catholic Church. If you're so - I strongly suggest hiring a chore to sin that song. Amazing experience to hear probably the greatest hymn of Christianity ever made:)
Thank you so much for the sheet music, Lyndon! This is going to be my prelude piece Easter Sunday morning, with organ and brass. It's going to be incredible. I love your playing, too.
@Moratorium These cannot be true because I'm atheist and against every religion. Religion is the cancer of humanity, a pretext to indoctrinate conscience and a mean to dominate people.
If only a "Carpenter" is able to write such beautiful music, a real composer would receive nothing but favorable critics!
Jokes aside, I don't know what makes church organs so attractive. I was brought up in a Christian environment, never accepted the doctrine and stopped going to church the day I was "free" to do so, But I love being inside a temple when I can listen to its organ. Greetings.-
Anyone who enjoyed this should hear it on the Albi Cathedral Organ. It sounds amazing with wonderful 16' Bombardes of that organ. Search for "Bombardes of Albi"
@ajordanGSX 16' Bombardes are indeed beautiful, but in our church, we've got an electronic organ with a 32' Bombarde, and that sounds just like a big burp.
@thomy753 The bombardes of the Albi cathedral have a certain quality to them that just makes them very brilliant in comparison to other organs. As for electric organs, Unless it is an electric console mated with an existing pipe system, generally I do not like to use anything below a 16' because the tonal quality of an electric 32' is so much different than a true 32' pipe.
Most often when I click on videos where the preview image shows someone seated at an organ or a piano I know I'm in for an ear bursting experience. But I won't stop clicking on them, because sometimes I get pure brilliance.
@konglekonge5 this is the best performance on you tube that ive heard of the prelude to this Te Deum. It is played with adept ability and characterises the mood of the piece of music.
There are two performances of this piece that really touch me; yours and the one by the parliament de musique with the period instruments. I admire you for your love for this music, sir!
There are many Te Deums on youtube. However, after many adventures and interpretations, this is the one I always come back home to. Nice job, nicely played and good quality recording.
