  • No offense, but why would you release domestic ferrets into the wild. That would be a certain death for them???

  • Man, she's really dooking it up. Looks like fun <3

  • wo cut

  • Lol, cute :)

  • hehe at 1:12 its trying to drag you into its lair.

  • now i have one ferret it names is COKII and i love it but i don't know whats that noise that make ur ferret? i never hearded before

  • @chanelita8 :) they make this sound when they are excited

  • @chanelita8 its called DUKING sounds, they do it when excited, happy, playing around and rarely they DUKE when upset.

  • that looks very hurtfull...

doesnt that hurt you? i mean she bites u quite hard...

does she just do that if she wants to play or all the time? I mean this can be quite annoying :D

  • @BoeherPuffi ferrets tend to bite a lot. however, you can teach them not to. their tough skin makes them quite immune to bites and so they think we are immune too :)

  • does it hurt? It seems really painful!!! I want to get one but it seems like it keep biting..

  • @macylee85 she does not really bite. she handles me softly. it only hurts if you pull your hand cause their teeth are razor sharp. however, i do think ferrets are demanding pets to keep.

  • So cute!

I Loved 1:19 -> Ferret Aerial Assault FTW !!! xD

  • OMG she is soooo cute !!!! She just loves you so much !!!! LOL :)

  • hey do the girls smell bad? i seriously want a jill as a lil companion not as hunter.

  • they in fact smell great and im saying this with all seriousness. the only time they release bad smell is when they are frightened or uncomfortable, but that goes away very fast. once you smell a jill you will never forget that pleasant perfume scent.

  • We know so little about nature and it will never seize to amaze us. It is determined, pompous, placid, delicate and strong, it will find a way. We understand it so little and claim to know so much. We can hardly grasp its immensity. Beautiful video, I hope one day you see your little love being followed by a litter of kits... and if she died, I can only imagine the pleasures and adventures she had while it enjoyed freedom.... the way we are all supposed to be, free.

  • @rositafresita73 thank you very much for your kind comment, i really appreciate it. merry christmas!

  • Comment removed

  • I will be adopting 2 tomorrow!! Merry Christmas too and happy new year! : )

  • good luck and have fun with the ferrets! i hope to see a video from you soon :)

  • @recurvebows Hello again! We got them a few months ago now and they are lots of fun!! They like to steal our socks and hide them under the beds. They kiss our kids a lot and the boy only bites when we are laying down on my bed… he probably thinks it belongs to him : ) They are very playful and cute! The boy looks just like your girl : ) .

  • nice video! does your ferret live in you appartement constantly? en how is it managable with the smell? i'm thinking of getting a ferret and i have a one room appartment..

    grtz

  • Ours ferret business of 4 runs free all of the time in our apartment. I spend about 15 minutes a day cleaning up after them. Every couple of weeks I thoroughly wash their bedding and cage. A small carpet scrubber is handy. It is a minimal amount of work. It is well worth the effort to have these amazing, funny creatures around. They are a perfect pet for an apartment.

  • female ferrets smell wonderful (no kidding). males ha a stronger odor but a dog usually smells worse. the only things you should worry about are ferrets getting into trouble (ie biting on things that are dangerous for them) or their aptitude for gardening (ie digging up plants). they would also eat things made of rubber. toilet train them asap and you will be fine.

  • Omg thats so cute ^^

  • LOL. This is great! It's almost like she fussing at you when she's dooking. Didn't I tell you to get in the house and go to bed. Ahhhh, for the life of me. Go to bed! Don't let me drag you in young kit!

  • my exact sentiments :) thx for your comment. when she finally accepted i am not a kit willing to live in the cupboard, she came to my bed every night, woke me up and checked if i was alright.

  • that is sooooo cute! my cats dont ever build nests for me. little bitches

  • :) that is why i fell in love with ferrets. manka (featured here) was especially keen on me though she bit me a lot too :))) she is a fierce amazon.

  • thats the cutest ferret ever i can tell he loves u and never wants to give u up becas hes dooking his little hart out

  • :) it is "her" heart out, she is a girl. and my everlasting love too.

  • I wanted to comment on how beautiful Manka was. I can see that the two of you loved each other very much. I also loved how vocal she was. I read your profile and see that you live in Hungary. Now perhaps they do things differently there than in the USA ... BUT, I was VERY SADDENED to read that you had turned them loose. It is a well known fact that domesticated ferrets DO NOT survive for long on their own. Your "great companions" probably ended up sadly as a predators dinner. I am sad and upset!

  • i cannot persuade some people about ferrets being smart so all i can ask is this: what else could i have done in this situation?

  • Good point. Possibly rehomed them. Turned them into an animal shelter. Sold them. Foster them until you could figure out what to do. Keep them outside in a big cage if only temperary. but I understand that you were on the hotseat and that you also weren't privy to some things. I was never judging you. I never said, "you are awful". I said that I admired how much you loved them, cared for them and I was grateful for the video. I just put forth some facts. I'm really sorry you're hurt.

  • i just realised what you are doing to ferrets, shame on you. i am sorry i wasted any comments on you.

  • what predators do you mean?

  • Dogs (they often kill ferrets that are strange to them), racoons, many many birds of prey, bears, big cats, venomous snakes and insects they can run into. I'm sure I"m missing many more.

  • none of the above apply here except 1 eagle that lives here... small chance though, he is very timid.

  • I wanted to say, that I know you didn't know all of that. I'm really sorry, I really didn't want to step in on this wonderful video, or to hurt you ... I can see how much you adored your ferret(s). But it must, must be stated for the good of all ferrets that this was the wrong thing to do. Released ferrets when not scooped up by kind hearts, killed by man/cars, etc, or captured by predators, suffer very, very slow and often tortorous deaths.

The whole Ca issue is a big can of worms as well.

  • well, your opinion is appreciated. however, theory and facts are two very different things sometimes. it is a fact that they lived around the house for MONTHS and if some of them wandered away they would come back sometimes weeks later to stay again for a few days only. this does no prove your theory true does it.

  • i do not think ferrets are utterly stupid (stupider than cats, dogs, mice, etc...) and i do not understand what you base your theory of ferrets being stupid on. when there is food given to them around the house, why would they wander away where there is no food? i lived with ferrets for years and i see them as quite clever.

  • No theories. My name is Rebecca Stout and I have been a writer for Ferrets Magazine, Ferrets Usa, etc for ten years now. I'm a medical resource along with vets and other experts for the largest ferret breeder in the country, Marshall Farms. I am a frequent speaker in teaching the public, shelters, breeders, rescuers, geneticists, zooarcheologists, even vets at the International Ferret Symposiums held every 18 months around the world. This list goes on and on.

  • I only list some of them to demonstrate that I am not a passing poster or merely a private ferret owner. I do know what I am talking about and I can back it up with support, statements and articles from the best minds in the ferret community.

I approached you with only the greatest of respect and kindness. I appreciate that you kept this civil and I very much appreciate that you report in public that your ferrets did last months. I can back anything I've said up.

  • You can google any of this. Check with the editor of Ferrets Magazine at Fancy Publications, into Dr Quenesbury who wrote the ref. manual for ferret care as well as refer to Dr Bruce Williams who is the foremost expert in ferret care and medicine. Bob Church is the zooarcheologist that is top notch and you can find his writings in many books, at the symposiums, in vets offices, and all over the net if you google him. You can also check with any ferret breeder or shelter in the country.

  • Any Ca ferret group such as Ferrets Anonymous, shelter or rescuer in Ca can back this up. Travis Levieri who heads the Black Footed Ferret program in the states can also share some facts.

I am not stating that ferrets are stupid, they are equal of intelligence to a small primate. I am stating that they are highly domesticated. I am stating that what you reported is a rare occurance, even in the Ca environement.

Once again, I love your video. I adore how much you love your ferrets.

  • thx. and thx for all the comments even though they upset me quite a lot.

    1) what could i have done in this situation do you think?

    2) i found ferrets are smarter than cats on par with dogs or better

    3) they are vicious predators attacking worms, mice, bugs, frogs rats, snakes, even cats (all available around our house) and HUMANS too.

how did they die do you think fgs?

  • They are as smart as the smallest of primates. Polecats are vicious predators as is all of their relatives. Ferrets had much of it bred out of them for thousands of years. Ferrest imprint on food. Meaning if they have not been exposed to a type of kibble, insect, meat, etc as kits tey will starve and die as they cannot just decide to eat something as needed. It's a biological thing. As adults, they have to be "shown" to eat it. sometimes even that is not successful.

  • @recurvebows You could have taken them to a shelter. Anything is better than releasing domestic ferrets into the wild. Dude, there is no such thing as a wild ferret. Except a black footed ferret, and they are very distantly related. You basically sent your ferrets to die. They are long dead, you sick bastard.

  • @sherik5 the sick bastard was your mother, who wanted to take a shit and dropped you to this world.

  • @sherik5 I agree with all of you who said Take them to a shelter and do not release domesticated ferrets into the wild. They will definitely be dead by now, if not I would be amazingly suprised and have heart attack.

    Non-the-less...I hope they are ok.

  • @KerrysWalter whoever invented i released them in the wild? some illiterate fucks can't read and dream up things or what?

  • @recurvebows I was reading what others said :) duh!

  • watch?v=gMlyNPgwOmo&feature=fvw

get another job? one that suits you better?

also: you should be ashamed for working for marshall farms, really. and not just because you are ignorant. neutering ferrets sucks smelly ass.

  • It is true, ferrets cannot live outside on their own beyond weeks. Most often they pass on within days due to an array of reasons. Never have any "feral" ferrets been found in existence. that is a scientific fact.

The are far more domesticated than cats. Further more there are no such things as "wild ferrets". Black Footed ferrets are a whole other species. Ferrets are the culmination of many interbred species dating back before Roman Greco times. They have no survival instincts.

  • Your video is awesome. I enjoyed it very much. Thanks for posting it!

I don't want to be cruel, but I do have a responsibility to state that although some of your info about ferrets is very keen, some of it also direly false. I am very glad that posters have clarified much of that for viewers.

  • I think this video is super cute, very beautiful loooooking ferret, very nice markings!!

  • dont let it lick your face it culd have a disease

  • for all i know my girlfriend can have a disease too. so i should not let her lick me? :))))

  • LOL

Well put. I love how narrow minded some people are. Animals are cleaner then we are!! haha

  • Ferrets have a reputation of being stinky. They are not. They have a reputation of being dirty. Again, far from the truth. I could swear female ferrets smell much better than most humans :) Most people do not know that their "odor" is used in expensive perfumes. Thanks 4 your reply.

  • Domesticated ferrets dont carry diseases that are transferable to humans OR other animals. Educate yourself next time.

  • no use telling me i guess

  • no really a disease or anything but you can get a cold from a ferret and a ferret can get a cold from a human

  • great video. And the ferret is so lovely.

  • I was just reading your video comments, you released them into the wild? You do realize ferrets are domesticated? Farther more in less your ferrets were born in the wild, they can't survive in the wild....so you basically let your ferrets either starve to death or die from the elements.

  • i sure hope not. it was not really "in the wild" they stayed around our house for more than a month and we fed them - they even had a shed of their own. after a while they started to wander. they would not come back for days. they were in good shape and the area is full of rodents and frogs - there is a lake too. so i guess they were ok after all. im surprised a lot of people think ferrets are stupid.

  • even our cats who used to live in the city for 5 years are now wandering around (they also live where the ferrets do) - sometimes for days -, hunting for mice and you would say they are too domesticated. but you underestimate hereditary attributes imo.

  • Er...no. Felines, technically, aren't truly domesticated unless you spayed/nuetered and declawed them. Otherwise, they at they're leisure. Felines have no true loyalty. Saying either of those species aren't domesticated is like if you went to snuggle a wild lion, dude. Unless the Ferrets themselves are halfblooded Polecats and or have been -trained- to hunt..we have bred the domesticated ferret for well..being domesticated. You want more proof? Look up blackfoot ferrets. They share

  • minor similiaries to each other but are aptly reffered to as distant COUSINS for a reason, dude. Just because the woozil knows what real meat tastes like, does not mean they have the common instincts as a polecat or blackfoot ferret..of "hey! they's a fraggin HAWK. Crap! I should hide!"...or.."Crap, that's a coyote! I should find a burrow!" "Zomfg poisonous snake gtfa!" And the fact you did so to such a beautiful baby (not baby as in kit, I mean beautiful woozil), i'm appalled. You do know

  • they make shelters for them for this very reasons, right? In my eyes, which I know, teh gaspeth! it's on the intrawebz! doesn't mean much squat here, but I can safely say for most woozil lovers...be ashamed. Be very ashamed at what you did. Because moronic shit like that? Ferrets aren't legalized in California. Congrats. You aided in throwing gasoline into that fire. =D...Again..know it's internet. So means shit here. But hey! to whomever gave kirara -? Die. Just die. Do humanity the favor.

  • Awesome video,Your ferret has a very nice white coat.

  • :) manka and loki - loves of my life, indeed. thx.

  • cute she just wants u close by. What do u feed those things? And can they live by themselves for a week?

  • they are whole prey eaters, meaning they naturally eat whole animals with skin and bones, fur, etc. but they are ok with organic catfood (no soy). you mean can they live by themselves in the country/forest, etc? ofc. they are fierce hunters, killing mice, rats, birds, frogs, bugs, whatnot. in the wild they mainly eat bugs and worms... at home they are ok with dry food too, if you want to leave them alone - but the house will be ruined...

  • haha! looks like risky business friend!

  • she bit me many times but nothing serious. it still makes me laugh how she would try to give me a french kiss then bit me on the nose or lips. whereas her 4 month old daughter once almost bit off my mother's thumb during feeding. but that was a free range ferret with little human contact.
