  • hmmm.......also very cool. i mean, for one i wasnt aware these coaches were in use anywhere else but in chicago, new anyway, i think maryland has some older refurbished metras, and i thought the nscale set would only really sell well here in the chicag area, thus prolly not being populat enuff for Kato to consider an HO release, but if they can sell them elsewhere....hmmm.....hoping....

  • @mercenary454 i have been waiting a long time for this equipment to be available in N scale. Now if they'd only make some sort of single deck push pull commuter cars that I could use for the MARC service....

  • Whoa, Nippon Sharyo bi level commuter coaches.........huh, did not know that.

  • @mercenary454 yep, the consists are pretty similar to Metra now. That's why it didn't surprise me when Kato announced that the Metra releases were gonna be available in VRE colors.

  • @DJGENEX71 I don't thinks that's gonna happen. If anything EMD will probably just send MP more parts to build more engines. I just heard that GE's also getting out of the passenger business. GE and MP are trying to work out a deal to build passenger units to replace the Amtrak P40s and 42s. Now that's just what I heard. Don't know if it's true yet. But with all the GREEN stuff going on, I think MP will be America's passenger rail engine builder. MP is supposedly greener than EMD and GE.

  • @DJGENEX71 that would be cool.

  • I wish Amtrak would buy some of those Motive Power engines instead of all the junk GE's they have!

  • @DJGENEX71 Not to sound like a genius here, but there is two problems with that.

    1. The MP36s didn't exist when the Genesis was introduced and the Genesis did a good job when I went on my last train trip early in June although it was freezing cold on the southbound trip.

    2. GE is now involved with Motive Power Inc. as they are going to provide the parts to the HSP46. That will be GE's test to see if they still have it. The 645 and 710 worked let's see if the GEVO-12 works with MPI.

  • @kmothersil EMD just needs to make some more passenger engines, bottom line. Maybe a F60ACe that would be sweeeeet!!!

  • @davinp thinks for the info. But just out of curiosity how do know this?

  • @MrKrav3r hahaha thinks man. I'll do better when I get my hands on a full HD camera. Then I have to. I have no choice.

  • Man u could use 1 it looks like ur recording in a invisible wind storm.. F### those other people harassing rail fans they ain't making u happy get good video!

I'll have that audio recording for u on sunday. Some of it is actually pretty funny too. You'll get a lot of hits from it I guarantee ;)

  • @MegaGeorge1948 I didn't have a tripod when recording my earliest work. I have 2 now. Sometimes I don't use it when I think I'm being watched by other passengers. I've been yelled at and threatened quite a few times by assholes who think railfans are...you know. I won't even say the word. So in some of my earliest work I kinda do the "I don't have a camera thing" while getting my footage. I know Its a little shaky but I usually get what I come to get.

  • You should record your video using a tripod. Or some device that keeps your camera steady. The jiggling is distracting. Most railfans use the tripod.

  • @greatlancachireguy I'm glad you liked it.

  • @SuperStarRendon thinks. I'm told that VRE still has 2 of the F40s. I caught V34 I have yet to catch the other. I'm glad they're keeping some of their RP39s as backups I still enjoy seeing at least one of them when I railfan on that side of DC and VA

  • @MrConraal VRE has sold all but 2 of the old locomotives, the V20 & V23, and is looking for a seller. They still are keeping 3 locomotives that they are leasing - V32, V34 & V36.

V01 - V10 were sold to Motive Power and 3 have already been shipped to them.

V21, V22 & V24 were sold to the US Army

V30, V31 & V33 were bought back by RailWorld Leasing, which orginally leased them to VRE.

  • @pwalpar thinks

  • @tpe18509 thinks

  • @murjax thinks

  • @CSX453 thinks man
