@BeIndianatHeart,its a lot to explain and even though I traslate it for u,u won't get the same emotion, but I can tell u the theme of the song, its about someone who loose the eldest sis,she is asking her mom where is her didi, everything is same, only she is not here..why her mom always cry when she asked about her...I know its not the best explanation...I feel this song from my heart...I had a lill girl..she passed away 4 years ago..not the same..but don't know why this song remind me my daughter
Hi everybody, I don't speak Bangla. I will be grateful if somebody can explain the meaning of this song to me. (Either Hindi or English). I would love to cherish the meaning as well as for now I can only cherish the music. Is there any translation available?
This could be a child who is asking the mother where his/her elder sister (who has only recently died) has gone. Missing the sister very much (seems like the child does not understand the concept of death) (s)he asks the mother all sorts of questions, like whether the sister is playing hide and seek, why (s)he cannot see the sister any more. The mother, who herself is extremely sad, can only cry... this is a very sad poem, and perhaps one of the best I have read.
I remember reading this poem in second or third grade back in Bangladesh. It feels like a life time ago. Listening to this song makes me feel like I am back in BD, and still a little kid.
Wonderful Ei Gaanti Aamar Chokhe Bar Bar Jal Enechhe Aamio Amar Didir Kachhe Baro Hoyechhi Tai Didir Katha Mone Pore. Amar Didi Matra 42 Bachhar Bayoshe Mara Gelen Cancer E Akranta Hoye. Didi Thakle Besh Hoto...Aapnake Dhannaybad video tar Janno...
@shivkumar1945 The beauty of a brother and sister's love is gone with your generation. My grandma brought up her youngest brother and was literally his surrogate mother. When he passed away at 40 of a heart attack, my grandmother just cried for days, stopped eating.
Oh my Bangladesh...I miss you. I miss those days in the village while mother used to sing lullabies, those green fields, farmers, that spiral muddy road to enter village, now sitting in one of the most modern city of the world, wearing modern badge, away from everybody, mother, motherland, surrounding by electric devices my heart keeps going back to that remote village of Bangladesh...
@CryForCry ,bengal literature, history ,language is not one of the best but is the best one but we many do not know our background and many intellectuals who wrote this and that, anything and everything about bengal and bengaly.
