i wanted my mom to buy me a crippled kitten at the spca a long time ago but she wouldnt let me because she thought it was to much work i was heart broken

Your mother was probably right. As much as the poor cat must have needed a home; special needs animals are a LOT of constant work. Its closer to adopting an infant than adopting a pet, when it can't fully care for itself. There's lots of extra care and expense needed for them. Its nice that you would consider caring for a crippled animal, but if you consider it again, please make sure you are fully able to meet the extra expenses needed.

It's so much work. I fostered a kitten with cerebellar hypoplasia and my schedule was like this(btw she was kept in a very large playpen at night and while i was at work) -

5am- feed & clean cat + pen+snuggle

7am - get ready for work

8:30am -snack + water for kitty + leave for work

1pm - come home, feed + clean kitten and cage

5pm - come home, feed + clean kitten and cage, play time

8pm - exercise/play time

9pm - feed again

10pm - get ready for bed

11pm - small feeding + water, tuck kitten in for bed

Also had to keep the pen beside my bed so that if she used the litterbox, I'd hear it and wake up and clean her off or just hold her up while she went.

Cerebellar Hypoplasia - no coordination so she couldn't sit up, walk or do much. She still managed to get around though and play a lot. (Was 8 weeks when I took her in, had her for 2 months. Adopted shortly after return to shelter):)

whenever I heard that the wheelchair had come in, my heart just dropped! I'm so excited for Thomas and Alera now. ^_^ he (Alera) can run over Thomas's feet and won't get yelled at for it. LOL!!!!

Just in case anyone is interested -- Malaysia is 13 hours ahead of EST. So, when its noon in Malaysia on Weds, it will be 11pm here in EST on Tuesday night! That way, you can adjust your time, wherever you are to be sure to watch the video!
