  • I got a sewing box from my late mother and found a spooling project she was working on ages ago. I had no idea how to use a spool. Thanks for the detailed video on how to use one. I will be able to finish her project and start one from scratch for myself!

  • If you use stretchy string and add beads its a awesome bracelet:D

  • @lilyfrost2011 Great idea!!

  • here I am in yr 5, my library teacher told me how to do it. we only used pop sticks and toilet rolls, it is so fun!!!

  • very helpful thnx!:)

  • why do you keep on starting again and again!!

  • @Stareholic Because the beginning is the most confusing part. I wanted to make it very clear.

  • im in yr 7 and in yr 6 our teacher told us how to do this. we used rolls and popsticks. whenever we finished r work we cud do ours or sumtimes he's just let us talk to frends and knit :)

but i forgot how to start it up so yer

  • thank you so much i got one and the instructions that came with it were confusing and i only had to watch your video once and i figured it out!

  • :'D i did this when i was in primary school. i remember being so amazed lol

  • I Just started spool knitting literally yesterday and i have been working on the regular old spool knit that is like the first thing you should learn! What could be another If You do pattern i can do. Do you have any recommendations for a beginner like me!? if you great but if you don't then OK! or is there only one pattern? like i said i literally just started spool knitting!

  • Thank you for this fantastic tutorial!

  • This is great! I've had the spool awhile, but today opened it up and read the directions! Not going to work with me. Your video was excellent. Made my first cord! Thanks so much and Happy New Year. Last year I learned how to knit socks and have made several pair. Learning something new at 65,,,,great!

  • This video really helps me thanks you did a wonderful job! ♥

  • Interesting to watch. Lovely music. When I was a little girl I had a little knitting spool doll.

  • ever since i was about 8 i've wanted to make a carpet out of this stuff. I go all around the spool every time and come out with this cylendar then, then i wind it up into a circle and voila. Only recently (I'm 17) have I actually started trying to realist that dream. I'm on my second ball of yarn and wound up its about the size of a hot plate. I either have a long way to go or will have a very small carpet xD

  • Interesting. I just did my first lot of spool knitting, using my humble memories of doing it when I was 7, and following a few instructions from websites.

I was always under the impression that, when you are doing the knitting, the wool needs to do a full circle of the peg that is sticking up from the spool before the bottom loop is pulled over the top one. Is this not the case?

  • @cherrypizza The way I learned, it is only when you're casting on that the yarn goes all the way around the peg. After that, it's just around the outside, as I show in the video.

  • @peridot1454 Where can you buy a corker? And what tool did you use?

I read a book about this, and thanks for makeing it more easier to understand!!!! :D

  • @Aynos11rules I bought mine in a local yarn store, but I've also seen them in the dollar stores around here. The one I used is just a basic plastic one. I've also seen them in wood, shaped like little dolls. They're sometimes called a Knitting Nancy as well. They usually come with what looks like a needle, with no hole. That's what you use to make your stitches.

  • I remember doing this as young girl , and just recently bought one for my 8 year old's birthday - it's so relaxing to do, once you get the hang of it :) Thanks :) I forgot how to do it and wouldn't have been able so show my daughter how to do it without this tutorial.

  • @26SandyC You are very welcome! Starting it is the hardest part.

  • Thank you very much, bought a spool for my 7 yr old daughter and we learned together how to use it with your tutorial. My 4 yr old restarts the video for the music as the 7 yr old is knitting happily away.

  • @soundhunter That's awesome! Aren't 4 year olds great? So glad you were able to learn from the video.

  • Thank you I purchased one spool for about six months and had no idea how to use it!

  • This is really helpful! Thanks so much.

  • many thanks iv been looking all over for instructions :)

  • What music is it? Gorgeous.

  • love the music and the section slides... so peaceful and lovely.

  • Thank you for this great tutorial!! I found it invaluable for learning how to use my spool knitter :)
