  • Do I have to have a rig or cage to attach the D-Focus to a lens on the Canon T2i/550D?

  • Which 35mm DoF adapter are you using? The one from Jag35?

  • I'm pretty new with DLSR video and I don't know much about this gear and everything. But what's that black thing attached to your camcorder's lens? Is that an extra lens? I can see the focus-ring-thing but is that like an extra part or part of the rig?

  • Would you not just be better off turning the focus ring yourself, using your fingers?

  • @BrideAndGroomFilmsHD

One can't achieve fast/accurate focus changes by just turning the focus ring.

Turning with the hand minus a follow focus will result is slow poor focusing.

All professional rigs have a follow focus for a very good reason.

Using a follow focus allow you to mark your settings. This allow you to perform lets say an in /out focus on 2 or 3 subjects in one giving scene with speed, precision and accuracy.

If you watch movies, then you'll understand how important this is.

  • I was being sarcastic, but you very clearly and succinctly explained how imperative it is to use a focus ring on productions where focus is so critical.

I guess you can't judge someone's tone on You Tube. :-)

  • What kind of cam are u using

  • canon HF100

  • whats that big ring thing around your lens that moves the lens? i know the system is follow focus but indifocus which i just ordered does not come witht hat where did you get it?

  • That is the Redrock Micro lens gear. They sell them through their web site.

  • What kind of Follow Focus Gear do you use with the Canon lens? I can't find it anywhere.

  • I'm using the Redrock Micro lens gear in this video. They are expensive ($63.50 each) but are quick/easy to install and work very well.

I also sell more affordable lens gear. See the web site for more info.

  • AWESOME!! I see you are using what looks like a JAG35, I have one too. When do you think you will have these available to sell?

    Thanks for sharing!
