In the scene where he (does Jude actually ever use his name?) is introduced to Paul, she refers to Chapman as a friend. Then in the next scene, after having flipped out on Paul, he is not referred to as a friend, when Sean and his nanny are introduced, but as merely "a Beatles fan".
The amazing thing is that they got to shoot this movie outside the Dakota. I wonder how they got permission to shoot this right outside where it actually happened. It is kinda eerie that it is the actual Dakota and they are reliving this outside where it actually happened and we are watching it right in front of our eyes..like we were right there.
@laurend019 Yea...the actor who played John in this movie is named Mark Chapman. Kinda weird. As I remember, this same actor was in line to play John in the movie John and Yoko (A love story) which is on you tube. They got the other actor because because of the name controversy.
This movie tripped me out when he started talking about relation with Polanskis film and Charles Manson.... i had always thought that too! Very ironic
The scene where toddler Sean Lennon meets his father's killer is 1 of the most disturbing things I've ever seen in film. Can anyone confirm if this actually happened?
@tabbypappy I got this from wikpedia "Late in the morning, Chapman met Lennon's housekeeper, who had just taken their five-year-old son Sean for a walk. Chapman reached in front of the housekeeper to shake Sean's hand and said that he is a beautiful boy, quoting Lennon's song "Beautiful Boy".
@tabbypappy The only one who confirmed that this happened was Jude Stein (LIndsay Lohan's character). She also said that Chapman stated that Sean was the cutest kid that he ever saw. Although it didn't happen on the 8th..sometime earlier. The part where Paul and MDC had a conflict was inaccurate. Paul Goresh said that Chapman got annoyed when Paul asked him where he was staying..and Chapman snapped back, "why do you wanna know"? But, yea..very creepy scene.
So eerie how Mark tells Paul (the photographer) how one needs to be careful with people in New York. A person cannot tell whom they're really talking to.
