  • OH WAIT NVM

I just saw what you told Brannmanndan :D

  • @Paraciticboy

    Cool :)

  • @TemporalParadox1 Thanks for the help, but I have one question regarding what a few friends of mine and myself ask ourselves at times;

Could you tell us the big differences between Vegas Movie Studio 11 and Vegas Pro 11.

We're generally new to this, so yer, we need enlightenment.

    Thanks, Para.

  • Link were to buy this at? Give me link to this item please!

  • how do i add an transparent watermark?

  • @runey5

Type "watermark" into the Search Box on my channel.

Have a close look at my full video list - you may be surprised with what you find.

  • @TemporalParadox1 i had a look and couldn't find it, but i found out how to make it transparent

  • Can you do motion tracking on videos?

  • @aliandroid123

There is a Tool called Track Motion in Vegas, which allows you to create Fx like Picture in Picture and rotation of the video screen.

You can't literally do automatic motion tracking - that requires a third party plugin of something like a BorisFx (google it).

You can track objects manually by plotting and adding keyframes.

  • how do you add transitions x.x? i have failed multiple times

  • @hanasawako

Place TWO separate videos or pieces of Media on the timeline.

Drag one clip over the other one to create a small overlap - example 2, 5, 10 seconds.

Now go to the Transitions Tab and drag a template down to the Timeline and place it in the overlap.

    Your done.

  • Hi, I have vegas pro 11, is there anything this can offer me that isn't in pro 11.

  • @Brannmanndan

I have already made a video explaining all the differences between versions - it's on my channel right now.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Thanks I'll check it out.

  • thanks man getting this tomorrow

  • @DeadlyPR3daTorZ1

Make sure to get the Production Suite version - it is the best.

  • As long as you can crop the video and use chromakeyer it's usable for me.

  • @hynwa97

If that was a question? - yes you can.

  • very good explained, respect.

  • @ugurakgoz

    Cheers :)

  • Great Video!! - This helped loads, thank you !!!!

  • @MelodyiLove1000

    Your welcome :)

  • Great video! But i have a question, witch file do you save you'r video in when your done? Cus I cannor upload it to youtube, please help! <3

  • @xRideOnTheSkyx

You need to do two steps.

SAVE your project - this saves all the project files and what you have done on the timeline.

Secondly you then have to RENDER your project to create the video.

Have a close look at ALL my tutorials - I have made plenty of videos explaining how to do all this.

  • I@ve seen that I dont have sony vegas platinum 11,only HD11;But It can be helpfull your videos..?

  • @82224561

HD 11 just has less functions.

All my tutorials will work in HD 11 if it has the settings needed.

  • @82224561 Thanks

  • So i'm starting to make videos. I'm relatively new to it. All of this seems way more complicated then Windows Live Movie Maker. But i'm excited to get started!

  • does it have masking?

  • @YaddleUP

    No.

Watch the other video linked to this one via annotations and it contained a lot more info.

  • I'm having a problem on fixing the video dimensions. Like I know how to make a video "fit" all the sides you go to "switches" and click "maintain aspect ratio". The north and west sides fit perfectly, but the east and south sides are a good centimeters off. I'm forced to use a 0.15 border for my videos now. If someone knows how to fix these problem please reply or message me I would appreciate it a lot.

  • @TemporalParadox1 What shall I do when it say Warning: An error occurred while opening one or more files An Error occurred while opening a codec

  • I downloaded the trail verison of NewBluefx: 3D Explosions but I don't see it in my Sony Vegas Movie Studio. Please Help!

  • can you mask on this program? and how do you do it?

  • I have yet another question! Say I want to speed up a video, how would I do that? What I mean is, can you make a video go twice as fast? If so, how?

  • @Temporal Parodox1 hello, nice video but have a couple questions. I am thinking about getting this but am wondering a few things. If you are trying to make an intro is this a good program to do this? I was also wondering if you can drag and drop clips from a file and directly to this or is it more complicated?

Hope this makes sense and thanks for any help in advance.

  • I have a problem. I'm trying to place a picture on top of a video but every time I put the picture on top of the video half of the picture would disappear. How do I fix this problem?

    Please Help!

  • @Angellafaye21

How are you doing this ?

Event Pan/Crop or Track Motion Tool ?

Are you putting your picture on a separate track above the video layer ?

If you are using Event Pan/Crop you must have "Size about centre" turned on - icon on left hand side.

  • @TemporalParadox1 I am using Event Pan/Crop. I place the picture on a separate track right above the video. I have "Size about centre" turned on. I have also tried turning "Maintain aspect ratio" to no but nothing works. What do I do?

    Please Help!

  • @Angellafaye21

Without "seeing" what you are doing, I am totally in the dark.

If you can take some screen shots showing your timeline and preview window, you can email them to me so I can see what you are doing.

    I will send private message.

  • Comment removed

  • @TemporalParadox1 Ok, I will email you.

  • @TwiistySnipers

    Yes.

Video is video. Subject matter makes no difference.

  • hey there. so i am making a pretty big jump from windows live movie maker to vegas 11. so in a video, can you fade the volume down for a certain section to hear another audio track that is in the project?

    hope this makes sense

    thanks!

  • @mtn2park

    Answer = Yes.

Type "envelope" into the search box on my channel and watch video.

  • @TemporalParadox1 is there a differnce between platinum and pro?

  • @VipVictini

I have an in depth video on my channel right now, which explains all this.

  • @mtn2park u can do that on ms editor lol

  • When I import a video to vegas, it crashes. I have all the system requirements and I use the proper formats. Please help, as I've been stuck on this for weeks.

  • @brennendo

I will need detailed information about your Computer System and the exact type of Video file & size, and where it came from, that you are trying to Import.

    Please send private message.

If you are using a pirated version, then I am sorry but I can't help you.

  • i am such a noob when it comes to editing and adding things to my videos, thnx for the help

  • @Retroshooter123

    Cheers :)

  • Hey it keeps crashing and stopping rendering is there a way i can stop it its fucking useless this software

  • @xXPUREMYSTERYXx

Sounds like you are trying to render a HUGE HD Video to a bit rate which is way TOO high.

Try bringing it down a few gears first, and then slowly bring it back up to below the red line.

Also make sure you are running the latest build version - there have been many updates.

If you are using a pirated version - then that is most likely what the problem is.

  • @TemporalParadox1 nah its not pirate what bit rate would you reccomend

  • @xXPUREMYSTERYXx

Have you watched any of my rendering tutorials on V11?

Type "1080p 11" or "720p 11" into the search box on my channel.

It's all a matter of doing small experiments at different bit rates to find the sweet spot for your computer and video quality.

For YT Videos, 10-12 MBps is normally more than enough.

Normally I render anywhere between 5MBps - 12MBps for YT using Sony AVC .mp4

  • @TemporalParadox1 ok thanks

  • @TemporalParadox1 oh and the videos 3 seconds long from a HD PVR

  • @xXPUREMYSTERYXx

If you are recording with a Hauppage unit, please use .m2ts to save your video.

.mp4 wont work in Vegas from Hauppage.

Also make sure you have the latest version of Quicktime installed - very important.

  • @TemporalParadox1 oh i haven't got quick time what does it do

  • @TemporalParadox1 ok got quicktime but the video gets half way through rendering it shuts down and says what were you doing at the start of the problem

  • @xXPUREMYSTERYXx

I tried to send you a private message, but you have private messages disabled.

We can't flame out this comments section anymore.

  • @TemporalParadox1 I enabled PM'S

  • I have an Intel 2 Duo Core running at 2.20 GHz. Will that still be okay for HD video?

  • @CJFRANKS7

    Most likely not.

You need a 4 Core CPU like the new Intel i5's or i7's, running at 2.9GHz to get decent performance when editing 1080p HD Video.

Download the free 30 day trial from Sony Creative Software.

  • This is only $50 right?

    I think I saw this on bestbuy.com for $50?

  • @Confininq It should be. But, the one I found was $60 dollars off of amazon.

  • Cool editor does it have a regular chroma key and a color replace effect? Like lets say my green screen is yellow or black. As for color replace being able to make something like this.

    Original

    watch?v=KFoMQrigWqc

An edit with adobe premiere pro cs4 trial and hue shifted with Presto Video works 6.

    watch?v=BpCt5HhTv1k&feature=channel_video_title

And does it have a hue change. Thanks for the info btw,

  • @theDigiflower5

Yes it has Chrome Key and you can change colour.

Did you watch the video linked to this one ?

Because I talked about Fx over there.

  • @TemporalParadox1 no I did not I will make sure to watch that thanks.

  • I am having trouble again. My editing system (Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11.0.)

My editing system cuts off a audio to all of my video clips. Please help me!

  • @LPSTVStudios

Sounds like you have "Muted" the Audio Layer or switched a hidden setting on by accident.

Look for "circle with slash" in the description box for each Audio Layer - turn OFF.

    OR

Top Toolbar - Options - Mute Audio is down the bottom - make sure turned OFF.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Do you know if this would be great for editing with a HDPVR? (M2TS,AVCHD,MP4 format)?

  • @OoxSTREETxxKiNGxoO

    Yes.

If you are using a Hauppage unit, you must use the .m2ts codec, because the .mp4 codec they use is non-standard version and behaves strangely in Vegas.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Thanks a lot man, much appreciated.

  • @TemporalParadox1 another thing is, after I reach a certain amount of minutes (around 8) it cuts off ALL of the remaining audio. Did I play with the settings and mess something up, or is it the editing system itself?

  • @LPSTVStudios

I am in the dark here, because I cannot see what you are doing.

I don't know what type of Video you are using or the settings you chose.

Never heard of this problem before.

My suggestion is that firstly make sure you are using the NEWEST build version of the program.

Go to Help - About Vegas to see build number - latest version is 283.

If you don't have 283, go to Help - Sony on the Web - Latest Updates

Now download and install this newest version.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Thanks for the help! You are a life saver!!! Even if you have never heard of this problem, you still always know the right thing to do! You are such a great help! Thanks!

  • @LPSTVStudios

    You're welcome.

  • thank you so much for making this but one thing I was wondering is there a limit to the number of layers you can have for instance if you make a multiple green screen effects if that makes sense at all I'm a noob

  • @houstoncjones

You can create up to 10 Video Layers and 10 Audio Layers.

  • Thank you very much for this video. It gives beginners like me a great overview of the features.

  • @thinkforaminute

    Cheers :)

  • On the packaging it advertises that you can add "400 custom music soundtracks", I can't find any of these "soundtracks", can you help me??

  • @COOKIE4TEHWOOKIE

Type "bonus" into the search box on my channel and watch video.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Thanks so much!

  • i just bought movie studio 11... whats the difference between this and vegas pro ?

  • @TripleStepProduction

There is a video on my channel right now explaining this.

  • how doo you save video to pc or laptop?

  • How do you get pictures to continually scroll across the screen?

    Please Help!

  • @Angellafaye21

Have a look at ALL the video Transitions - you might find something there.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Ok, Thank you! :)

  • How do you make things show up doing the same thing but zoomed?

  • @ttpotco10

You really need to explain things in much more detail please.

For a start what is the "same thing" you are referring to ?

Send a private message if it is going to be a long explanation.

  • all the menu on the software has gone wrong how do you get it all right agen do you go to settings or instal it agen

  • @jackie20ization

Type "lost" into the search box on my channel and watch video.

If that doesn't help, do a fresh install of Vegas.

  • How do you flash between clips really fast? Please Help!

  • @Angellafaye21

Butt different clips right next to each other, but without overlapping.

    OR

Overlap slightly between each two clips and then drag a transition into the overlap space.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Ok, Thank you so much!

  • is this like sony vegas cause i might get it cause it's $50 and it's cheap all i need it is for a school project and editing cause i'll be doing alot

  • @MacHelper44

I have a comparison video which explains all the differences between different versions of Vegas - it's on my channel right now - please watch.

  • how do you sort of zoom in on the timeline, if you know what I mean?

  • @Mozezrox

Use the wheel on your mouse to zoom into the timeline.

If you don't have a mouse with wheel, then go and buy one right now - they're cheap as chips.

    Alternate method:

Go to bottom right corner of the Vegas Timeline, and you will find + and - button that can also Zoom In for you.

  • how do you mach the video you edit on Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD 11 look beter video like HD? and does it have a cut buttern for the editing?

  • @jackie20ization

Press "S" for split to cut video.

Type "720p" or "1080p" and "11" into the search box on my channel, and you can watch my rendering tutorials which show how to maintain a HD quality.

  • NO DON'T KILL THE TWO BIRDIES

  • how do you slow mo clips? thanks this video helped a lot

  • @stayfitbikeco116

Type "slow" into the search box on my channel, and you will find a tutorial which shows you how to do this with Vegas MS.

  • kannts du helfen bei mir ist diese s Schwarze feld un diese ganz rechts diese teil verschwunden wie mach ichs soo das des isch wieder sehen kann Pls HELP!!

  • @TheOtuk68

I put your message into Google Translate, but it did not translate your message properly to make any sense.

Sorry, I can't help you unless it is translated to English properly.

Sorry, kann ich dir nicht helfen, es sei denn, es wird übersetzt, um richtig Englisch.

  • @Angellafaye21 you can download fire, explosions etc from detonation films.

  • @AIR23SAM Ok, Thank you!

  • how do you split the one clip???????????????????

  • @GamersTalk360

    Press "S" for split.

  • is it possible to remove the drums from an audio track?

  • @streetfast234

    Not with this software.

I think that would take a fairly powerful professional grade software to do such a thing.

Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 Production Suite does come with a Vocal Eraser Tool - but nothing else of that nature.

  • I recieved this program for Christmas. It always adds random effects to my videos. Like theres a break (the screen turns black) in the middle of most of my video clips. I do not need to move them closer, because I I were to do that, my video clips would be overlapping. Please help!

    ~Carlie

  • @LPSTVStudios

Sounds like you have changed a default setting in the Preferences or have accidentally pressed an ICON in the toolbar to the wrong position.

You can't have "gaps" between video clips on the timeline, otherwise you will see "black spaces" when playing back.

Go to Top Toolbar - Options:

Make sure "Enable Snapping" is highlighted - this setting stops videos from overlapping easily.

If all else fails, un-install Vegas, re-boot, then re-install Vegas.

  • @LPSTVStudios thank you so much! I will try it!

  • Thanks very much for the info on your vids, really appreciated, thanks for taking the time and trouble.

  • @Britz4Gaza

    Cheers :)

  • The Sony Vegas editing software doesn't go good with YouTube. I'll make a video in Sony Vegas, and when I upload it. YouTube fucks up the quality and rearranges the audio...damn YouTube...

  • @xxxCrazyBannanaZxxx

Maybe you should watch one of my videos on "How to Render Videos for YT" ?

  • Where can you download fire effects?

  • have any experience with the adobe line of editors? Im trying to find which one best suits me... any other similar programs?

  • @koldkilla777

I am an Adobe Video Editing virgin.

Never used their software because it is just way too expensive to buy.

  • @TemporalParadox1 I use adobe! but i want vegas

  • @TemporalParadox1

Out of curiosity, does Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11 support 64-bit operating systems? (i.e. can it take advantage of that extra RAM?)

  • @crazyfooInc

Movie Studio will work on Windows 7 64 bit.

However, because it is a 32 bit program, it can only ever access a maximum of 4GB's.

If you already own Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11, make sure you download the new free Update from Sony Creative Software - because it includes a fix for memory access problems on 64 bit OS's.

  • Are there any notable differences between Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 and Sony Vegas Pro 9.0?

  • @crazyfooInc

Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 is a consumer grade application.

Vegas Pro 9 is a Professional Grade application.

So yes there are notable differences.

I recently made a video explaining the main differences between ALL versions of Vegas.

  • @TemporalParadox1

Gotcha, and thanks for your timely answers. I'll be checking for that video now. ^_^

  • ok how can i make a graphic equalizer for my videos

  • @whatsagoodusername11

You can't make Video Animations with Vegas MS - it is an editing program - not a Special Fx program like Adobe After Effects or Adobe Flash Professional.

If want to add a Graphic Equalizer Audio Effect to balance an Audio Track, then yes you can do that. Just click the icon to add an Audio Fx and the whole list of plug-ins will pop up.

  • Does Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 support Hauppauge HD PVR formats?

  • @MegaSkulldude

You have to save/record Hauppage Video to .m2ts files and they will work just fine in Vegas.

  • whenever i open a video from my capture card, it says "could not open file" someone tell me what the hell is wrong with my vegas 11

  • @noobslayer35

#1 Don't press "Open files" that you want to "Import" into Vegas - always press the Import Media button, otherwise Vegas will think you are trying to open an Existing Project.

#2 Not every video codec in the Universe is supported by Vegas - non-standard formats need to be converted before Importing.

#3 Read the response I gave to piegangster100 below about supported codecs

#4 Most capture cards offer a variety of codecs you can save to - try them all !

  • do you know how to key out a green screen. so i can make videos with backrounds like for example: changing my green screen in the video to make it look like that i'm at the beach or in space.

  • @TheHercules141

I haven't made any videos on this topic yet.

Just search YouTube search engine, and I am sure you will find at least one - although it maybe a little old.

  • @TemporalParadox1 ok thanks for the reply.

  • Hi! How do you install the New Blue effects on your Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 Production Suite? I keep trying but it keeps saying "This file might harm your computer" so do you know I should do? Sorry I'm a little bit dumb. So please answer ASAP and if you can't thats okay!

  • @simplelamemovies2012

You can safely install NewBlue Fx.

Just ignore the message and let it install.

Some Virus Protector programs give off false readings because they are a bit dense.

NewBlueFx is totally legit and professional company.

  • @TemporalParadox1

    Thanks!

  • Do you need special cameras for this program?

  • bloody good review. your new subscriber +1 looking forward to your next video 'how to render'

  • @7GUNEYTURK

    Thanks :)

  • Is there timelaps or slow motion in this program?

  • @chickenboneification

    Yes.

Type "slow" in the search box on my channel and watch video.

  • @TemporalParadox1 is there a render option where i can put a 1080p still with audio, because the highest render option takes up so much memory, because its doing frames as if its a movie.

  • Can you make timelapses on this?

  • @2UKSkaters

    Yes.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Could you tell me how please :) I subbed

  • can you still put music on it ?

Q The video box is the video ovbs

Q The voice box is the video audio

Q The music box can be use for the audio of yourself talking over the video

    plz help fnx

  • @fearsomewarthog

It took me ten minutes to understand what you were talking about.

My conclusion is that when you say "box" you actually meant Video Track, Audio Track, Music Track....

The labels on the Tracks are just guides to make it a bit easier.

You can put any type of Audio on any Audio Track.

You can ONLY put Video on a Video Track.

You can add up to 10 Video & 10 Audio Tracks into Vegas Movie Studio.

  • Hi, I just got this program and every time I try to place a video in the timeline in the timeline, it wont let me. It just puts it in the 'voice' tab. I noticed that all the videos I import turn into audio for some reason. please help!

  • @piegangster100

That sounds like you are trying to Import a Video Format/Codec that Vegas does not support.

What is the extension of the video file ? .wmv, .mp4........?

Where did the video come from ?

DivX and Xvid don't work in Vegas - you may need to convert non-standard video first before importing.

  • @piegangster100

    Supported File Formats

Opens: AAC, AA3, AIFF, AVCHD, AVI, BMP, CDA, FLAC, GIF, JPEG, MP3, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MVC, OGG, OMA, PCA, PNG, RealMedia®, QuickTime®, SND, SFA, W64, WAV, WDP, WMA, WMV

Saves: AAC, AC3, AA3, AIFF, AVC, AVI, BMP, FLAC, JPEG, LPEC, MP3, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MVC, OGG, PCA, PNG, RealMedia®, TIFF, QuickTime, W64, WAV, WDP, WMA, WMV

You also need to have Apple Quicktime installed to playback .mp4's properly.

  • @TemporalParadox1 I know that but for some reason when I go to import a video, it imports it as an mp4 instead?

  • @TemporalParadox1 im having trouble to find what program i need to use, all i do is upload music to youtube, with a background, i would also love to add a graphic equalizer and some other effects. but im having trouble finding a program that supports 320kps mp3 and high quality wav files. what should i do??

  • @whatsagoodusername11

Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 can render to 320kbps mp3 and WAV Files.

You can also add a Graohic Equalizer Audio Fx to and Audio Track layer.

If you buy the Production Suite version of Vegas Movie Studio, you also get a really good Audio Editor called Sound Forge Audio Studio.

  • @TemporalParadox1 thanks for the help

  • @TemporalParadox1 even though i dont actually make recordings do u think this would be good for me to use

  • can I make montages with this program, for example a sniper montage from ps3, and can I make a clip from different recorded gameplays? and the last question: can I bring some music in and can i edit my kills so they go together with the beat of my music? (srry for my bad english I hope you understand it) thanx

  • @dieteken im trying to find that out too, did you get an answer?

  • @SebaStrass

Yes - full answer under original question.

  • @dieteken

The answer is YES to all the questions, except the last one.

There is NO plug-in which automatically matches video to the music beat.

However, it is something which can be done manually, by simply matching up the start of each still or video to the Waveform of the Audio in the Audio Track.

  • Amazing program :)

    But I can't mask there, that's really pity :(

Can I mask in Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 or it's not available in this program?

  • @xDarkWerewolfx

Masking is only available in Vegas Pro.
