Word of advise, flip the picture around to appeal more to your characters hair rather than copying the ear, it doesn't look realistic. Also, the braids look a bit unnatural, maybe add some rubber bands, or hair pins to make it look more like real hair.

you know there's this Program called SAI you can use. It has some very cool effects. If you want to see how people who use this program to edit their drawings go ahead and check on youtube. You'll be amazed.

well first save in 16 color bitmap, or w/e it is, XD. then hold down CTRL and + by the number pad, and once it's as big as you want click the color you want to erase than right click and hold that then just erase
