It's definitely a good idea to get started on an anti-depressant before starting HRT, because estrogen is a depressant for males. Me, I think I'll just get my hair cut and roll with the dudes. Transitioning seems too much like unpaid labour.

P.S. It's now believed that high estrogen levels in older males is the real cause of prostate cancer ( females don't have prostate glands ). So guys beginning HRT should look into getting their prostate glands removed.

Soooooooooo thats why I am a fat ass ho now. I thought it was the gallons of Bass Ale and the endless visits to the frig. Hmmmmm,, I can go for some popcorn with extra butter and lots o salt.

Actually you do need to be careful in the weight area. I gained 46 lbs after starting hormones after loosing 57 initally before HRT. That is really dangerous because of the cardiac and thrombosis it can create. I'm back on track and have shed 17 lbs in 6 weeks on my way back to about 146 ish. Good deja vu

When I started HRT 2 Years ago I was a Emotional Wreck for several Months. Weightgain? yea 25 LBS packed on but 20 LBS lost again. I put my Injections into my upper Leg works great for me :)

lol, this has been an special presentation of PBS. Aaaannnnyway, I definitely agree. I am still pre hrt (1 month till that's a thing of the past, YAY!) and though the advice I get from other transgender women is useful an sometimes encouraging it is still incredibly overwhelming. Especially when they start talking about surgeries. Being 19 thinking about paying 50k+ to have that bastard down below fixed and having my face beaten with a hammer is scary stuff. Go with it and try not to over think.
