  • Excellent cover, but why the static shot?

  • this has more views than XTC's version. Proof of their under-appreciated status, I guess.

  • This band went on "hiatus" which is a polite word for "broke up". A pity! Since 99% of local bands try and pathetically fail to be either Led Zeppelin or Ozzy Osbourne, when they're not murdering Bob Dylan. It will be along while before we see a band as brave and fresh as this one. Try performing post English Settlement XTC on stage and see what I mean.

  • HEY PINK FLOYD GUY at 2:04.... sit down and SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

  • Excellent job! It's refreshing to see a cover band that respects every part of the songs! It's just a shame to see that the audience is so oblivious to all of it.

  • A very good cover of two great XTC songs - if you guys want to come to the UK to play let me know.

  • Yes, this is a Great record and you guys do a surprisingly good job...Macheshnell !

  • excellent job.

  • fuking stupid audience...

  • Tacky rubbish

  • Tacky rubbish

  • awesome job!!!!! I Love XTC

  • not an easy band to cover!!! well done. kick ass indeed.

  • Wow I thought this amazing. I love XTC and this is an amazing cover.

  • love it still in timless 2010

  • way to really ROCK dudes. Way to get into the music. NOT. You offend me on every level here. If I were Andy Partridge, not only would I file an injunction against you playing my songs, I'd also find that singer of yours and chop his head off. Seriously - go to their site folks and listen to their other demos. Tell me how amazing they are then. Just because you can play notes similar to someone's record doesn't mean you're capturing their essence. The emotion of these songs is lost on you.ArrGG!

  • Great¡ greetings from argentina . Viva XTC¡

  • A thing of beauty and a joy for ever - great work Dukes.

  • Fantastic job by all members of the band

  • Snore! That crowd is the lamest. They have no idea what a good song it is. No idea!

  • the rendition of the vocals unfortunatelty lack the character and passion of the original... but really good still, kudos musicos :)

  • Wonderful performance. Now, what is Andy so scared of?

  • Unbelievable! Incredible, amazing work!

  • Wow. A true labour of love.Great keys, everything actually, these are incredibly complex pop songs. Dave Gregory strings indeed!

  • bravo....crowd sucks but thanks for great work +++10

  • Fantastic job!!!

  • Man, the keyboardist is virtually spot-on in his playing these songs. Bravo!

  • I have never heard anyone cover this!

  • Wow! I hope this outfit still exists -- looks like their website stopped in 2006...

  • Big ups and big thanks for this lovely performance from rainy Atlanta!

  • thanks! very nice, bringing the post-live era xtc to life. done properly, too.

  • These guys rocked that tune!

  • man, that was the closest i've ever seen anyone come close to xtc! wait! that was the only time! 5 stars guys, keep it up

  • great cover

  • Jeez, these guys sound really good. And yeah, the audience is just sitting there wondering what the hell is going on. Ah, well. XTC is one of the best bands that wins me a blank stare from friends when I bring them up. ("You know, 'Mayor of Simpleton'? Hello?")

  • they will be back they always do

  • Xtc is over forever. Andy doesnt want to do anything if Colin is out of the picture. Sigh...

  • That was awesome. Why imitate? Just play it. That's Austin, not the sticks. Really good job!

  • if I was there, I would have FREAKED OUT with JOY.. nice job! I must say, Texas would have been my last guess.. well, Utah, then Texas.

  • great job! I never thought anyone could do an XTC cover band let alone Dukes of Stratosphere. Not exactly a get up and dance type of music but definitely worth sitting and watching.

  • Not bad at all. Nobody is going to be able to imitate Andy Partridge's voice successfully. Jeez, I've tried and it leaves me hoarse and breathless, the way his voice soars and runs. But the sound is pretty good overall.

  • Amazing cover. I wouldn't expect anyone to do this great a job live.

  • wow - great job

  • Very good cover of XTC. Funny the audience has no idea what these songs are.

  • You've lost ahlf of your audience playing this. They are great songs but too esoteric and artsy for Joe Sixpack.

  • i think they lost half their audience at "Dukes of Simpleton"... but that's ok... that half doesn't count... nicely done!!

  • 1000 umbrellas is hard.. you guys did a fair job of it.

  • They are AMAZING!

  • I love these fuckers

  • Well done gentlemen! I'm always so impressed when a band covers XTC and you guys nailed it.

  • Wow! I'm blown away. If I saw you guys live I would have kissed your boots. Just to know that their is a band that can perform XTC live with such expertise is amazing. You're awesome

  • this is real good

  • Wow, professionals at work.

  • Excellente-Great taste in the choice of material and well executed.

  • Really, really bloody good!!

Pianos/keys sound brilliant... but then again so does everything else!!

    Well done!!

  • Really an extra cover of a difficult song... well done!

  • It sounds almost the same except for the guy's voice.

  • this is one of the best covers i have ever heard. xtc is a group that appeals to true music lovers that do their own homework. the work for a post studio production takes alot of work and heart(this live cover sounds close to the album vers.). these guys are amazing!!!

  • This audience probably didn't know who they or XTC were heh

  • pretty good

  • yup, almost like XTC

  • Jesus christ these guys are amazing !

  • Impressive! excellent cover, Lol The Dukes of Simpleton.

  • One of my favorites. You guys did an excellent job!

  • Well if Andy's gonna be "panic boy", at least there's these guys...GREAT job!!!

  • Beautiful!

  • Does anyone know if there is another band/person who sing/s "1000 Umbrellas"?

  • XTC.

It is from the album Skylarking.

Buy it as it is good. It is from either 86 or 87

  • The Format did a very good cover of it. =)

  • oh my goodness, that was terrific. The transition from song to song was just as graceful as on Skylarking. Really good stuff. A very faithful and cool rendering of six of my favorite minutes of the entire XTC catalog.

  • Agreed, just like the album. Just discovered them. Wow they're good.

  • well done guys, really impressive!

  • Killer mullet at 4.06

  • Anyone know the chords for 1,000 Umbrellas? I'm terrible at playing-by-ear, but I love the tune and can't find tabs anywhere.

  • Very nice renditions of the songs. Too bad most of the people in the audience were dead.

  • OUTSTANDING! Great job guys, thanks for posting this. An all XTC tribute band?

    How refreshing.

  • Great!!

1000 Umbrellas on of my top 3 songs from Syklarking!

Unbelievable how close you get to the studio sond...(almost TOO close..i like live versions that get a dirty edge..but in XTCs case there is no complaining for reasons we all know ;)

Feel sorry for you ´bout the audience..you deserve a club packed with XTC-frenetics, lifting the roof!

    Come to Germany, pleeeaaase!

  • Really good! I never even knew that someone was covering Skylarking songs. Rock on!

  • Exceptional work.

  • Two of my many favorites! You truly know how to play those instruments. Come to MPLS, I'll be there.

  • Not bad.

  • Very Good Job

  • wow, that was great! shake you donkey up!

  • What, no string section? Just kidding - you guys are spot on.

  • You have to be pretty ambitious to pull these Skylarking numbers off. I'm surprised to hear it sound so good. Bravo! Where were you playing?

  • We were playing at Threadgills World Headquarters in Austin, Texas. BTW, we will be playing there again this April 14th, 2007 from 9 till 11. Come early, eat supper, and be treated to two full sets of XTC, including for the first time Making Plans For Nigel, Seargent Rock, Vanishing Girls, and Little Lighthouse.
