Well I've managed to figure out that the cost of the moon pasta is about $0.019 per calorie. It's proving more difficult than I can manage to figure out exactly what it costs to raise a cow from birth to slaughter, though. If anyone can figure that half out, we could have a good estimate.

Not to seem pretentious, but isn't moon pasta obviously less energy efficient? Think of all the fuel needed to get to the moon to power the spacecraft, then the energy to develop something that could gather all the pasta from the moon, and then to bring it back and export it around the world? And you would only get enough to fill a space capsule. You can argue that a cow takes time and energy to raise, but what about the time and energy spent researching and developing said spacecraft?

Not an exact answer to your moonpasta question here's a consideration for solving the puzzle: If you account for the embedded energy costs for creating the materials and the services to build the rocket (energy spent to extract steel, refine, shape, etc.), as opposed to those requirements for the energy needed to raise a cow. The cow should win. Now if you're asking about strictly accounting for the transportation energy costs and requirements for pasta vs. cow, it's still a puzzler to me.
