  • Yep , incorrect key ... but I do appreciate it being slow which helped me a bunch

I don't know why I haven't seen a good slow explaination of this piece done slowly and in the right key.

Lots of ways to approach it but only one correct way.

  • Obviously you were going in and out of key, but I enjoyed your tempo interpretations. This is a piece that everyone loves to butcher at the speed of light. I think this piece could use a bit of rubato here and there.

  • vid quality: 1

    performance:3

    overall:2

  • Welcom to RASSIA!!!!!

    He made a contribution, bravo!

  • wrong key, what does it matter???!!!

  • wrong key.

  • Brilliant observation, but what does it matter?

  • I think you need to check your tab. I can send you the correct one if you like?

  • can u send it to me? pm me please

  • beautiful piece, love that clean sound by the way, very Jason Becker

  • Thanks! Jason Becker is my all time fav guitarist :-) Not only for his guitarwork, but also for his view on life etc etc

  • hahaha! you sucks!

  • Faster! and wheres the distortion?

  • This one is about the beauty of the piece, not about shredding guitars and all that.

  • This song is challenging on piano, I can only imagine how difficult this would be on guitar.

    Great job! keep it up!

  • LOL when I first looked at this I thought the white thing with the case on it was a stack...a really big one :D

  • Some of the notes were incorrect at 20 seconds. Yuck!!

  • it's wrong.

  • It's incorrect, it's supposed to be in C#minor

but this person is down two half steps from that, and the note sequences are not right.

the piece just wasn't made for a guitar.

  • "It's incorrect, it's supposed to be in C#minor"

That's got to be one of the stupidest statements I've ever heard a musician make. You act as if transposition is a sin. -_-

  • And even worsee... its on guitar... that has to be the worst thing you can do ;-)

  • Even if it was a 7-string, it would have little effect on the way this version sounds, because most of the notes are played in a higher octave and the 7-string has an additional low-B string.

I'm learning it on my 7-string, and so far I've had to play 2 notes on the low-B string.

    -Joe

  • Nice job man!

  • No, im saying the notes are different, at times really out of the original scale. call it what you want though, point's served.

  • be ha hah ah ah ha ha ha ha!!

  • This isn't quite C.P.E's solfeggio, more of a "modern alteration" of it... nice attempt, but it won't do as a C.P.E cover :)

  • You mean its not as recital, it IS a cover though.

  • great for a metalhead XD lol

  • For a metalhead?

  • Awesome! Truly awesome!

  • Freaking impressive.

  • beter dan Nigel Tufnel!

  • Dat komt omdat mijn amps tot 12 gaan!

  • great vid :-}

  • i love it, nice to see a metal player that can play other than just power chords

  • dude, no offense but u suck :\

  • You are a complete idiot. This is to SquidW3ed, who is an complete idiot and does not understand how hard this is.

  • iagree

  • 1. He's playing a fretless 7-string guitar.

    2. This is not an easy piece, especially for incredibly metal people to play AND post on the internet for all other metal heads to see. Being a classical musician myself, I thought he played very well.

  • I think its a 6 string.. And this piece is awesome :D

  • it is a seven string, easy to see when you look at the headstock: there are 7 tuners.

    But I don't think it's fretless either.

  • Last time i checked this is a six-string ;)

  • Not really. Look at the headstock again. There are 4 on top, and 2 on bottom. 4 + 2 = 6

  • is not a fretless

  • I think this work is originally intended to be a virtuoso exercise on the fingers at the keyboard. The tempo marking is Prestisimmo (As fast as possible)further illustrate this.

  • Prestissimo is not actually "as fast as possible". It's indeed the fastest piano tempo, but if you could play lightspeed, it wouldn't be prestissimo xD. The range of prestissimo is arround 230-240. Anything faster than that and you can't even fell the notes.

  • The tempo marking depends on which edition you have - the one I own certainly doesn't say prestissimo. Also, this piece is often commented on having many similarities to a toccata, so the speed and dynamics are directed by the performer, not the composer

  • You didn't ruin it lol

  • wtf omg you're my hero. <3 timmyboy! I'm a groupie! :D

  • Thats the best blonde guitarist I have ever seen :P

  • nice bring some art to the darkness that is metal!
