I had the same problem with removing the exhaust valve, once it was out i gave it a bit of a rub with emery cloth then it was ok, the valve seat was also pitted like yours, i just ground it the best i could, thats all you can do.

slightly file the peice that is stopping it , i had to do the same with my mk12/2
