@oXcookiecrispXo You have to be moving...fast. you want to start on the skim and then move into the big stuff once you have momentum. Also you might have a beggining board which is completely flat and wooden or something which is much harder to get above the water so you might want to get a board that is bigger and angles up in the front and a stomp pad.

nope. You need something with better floatation. You can't wrape a wave with a woody. If you want to look at some wave skimming, I would look at Zap or Exile. Victoria Pro model will work well too.

@mildongo yes there is a big difference, carbon fiber boards, are thicker and usually have a foam core, so its more buoyant, basically carbon fiber boards, fiberglass boards and epoxy boards are just scaled down surfboards, without the fins

@Jiao12 bro I surf and skim. Of course you can do this longer on a surf board. The whole point of skimboarding is when the waves are breaking out good for surfing. Plus skimboards are way more maneuverable. Its just something else to do thats fun.

@FCValle iv surfed twice and i can stay on a wave at least 10 seconds every time. when you surf you can go across the wave to stay on it longer but with skimboarding its shorebreak so you get fucked in 5 seconds max.

@AnthonyThePirate I wouldn't recommend it. Skimboards don't have the bouyancy like a boogie board does and they don't really stay on top of the water like a boogie board does. I tried it once and it worked pretty well for the first couple runs. But then on like the fourth run, while sliding down the face of the wave, the nose went under, dug into the bottom and the wave pushed my stomach into the tail of the board so hard that I proke the board clean in half. extremely painful
