he is a downhill olympic gold medalist and u think u can ski like him lol he does big mountain skiing the first time and i think for the first time with race carver hes pretty good
Certainly it is not even all that steep and the skier is not even that good, is he even a "pro", he doesn't look like he can ski much better than me, and I'm just a sport.
you're right it doesn't look like he's good... but this is because he trains not on this "terrain"
i made the same experience with some friends... there in the local ski club and train there ... result -> they're fast on the slope , but they can't ski apart the slope
@glenncz Having been there myself, and seen the incline, I think you'd be hard pushed to even make it to the bottom alive. When you are on the face it is impossible to see your line. not to mention that downhill skis are so rigid that they are close to impossible to sideslip (hence his 'hop' turns on the steepest sections).....but the again you'd know that because "he doesn't look like he can ski much better than me"....
I love it, he skied it on his racing skis without practice. Like to see the other competitors ski the Hannenkam on their fat skis!

GS skis are way too narrow, long and heavy for off-piste skiing. A weird choice from Didier.
