Personally I think girls have to be smart in order to ride. Girls that actually think things through ahead of time. If all girls started to ride i think there would be more accidents.

that's because most videos on youtube of female riders are about girls trying to learn how to ride bikes the wrong way, without gear or proper training and failing bad at it, but as far as i'm concerned i, as well as all the guys i know who ride bikes, appreciate girls who ride even if it's just a scooter lol. in my opinion, a pretty girl riding a motorcycle is about as attractive as it gets

The reason why people get a bike is irrelevant. Whether a guy buys it for the chicks, adrenaline or to look cool, all that matter is that he grows into the support and doesn't end up a Squid or a Statistic. As for females, a lot of them buy a bike for similar reasons to an adrenaline junkie (girls get off on adrenaline too), they often feel "liberated" on a bike. Yeah, that's your typical feminist phrase, but it's actually accurate here because riding a bike is truly liberating for anyone.
I love your vlogs billmaa. I am a female rider as well, and what happens to me a lot is when I'm stopped at a light or a stop sign and I see other motorcyclists they automatically assume I'm a guy until I lift up my visor.

I've watching your vlogs for well over a year now and somehow I missed this one. I must have been on vacation or something =). I totally agree with everything you cleverly said with the exception at ~3:00. Girls buy bikes for insincere reasons too. I bought my first bike not only because of my love of riding but because I wanted to be different, bad ass in my own tame sense. I wanted to be the girl that gets down as "one of the guys," working on cars, drinking beer, riding, and generally raising hell. While I have grown to love riding like you, I (a female) entered into it by insincere means.

im a girl and ive allways had a love of motorbikes, for me i really acknowledged that when we had a lodger move in, at the time he had a yamaha R6 and i watched his progression to an R1. i then started tandom riding with him and the shere addrenalin of going 150 down a country lane was awesome.
when i was 16 i started saving up for my CBT and my first bike (a moped really lol :P) a gilera dna 50 which i bought as a non-runner and i (yes me alone) rebuilt.
now im starting to save up for my full lisence and a honda CBR600rr. i believe that your views are spot on ^^ i'd ride with you if u didn't live in america

I used to have a bike (getting a new one) but it was totalled by my ex-rommmate....I love driving, riding anything that has to do with motors not because it goes fast but because i feel invincible to life.. Good vid as always Billy. Well I guess the secret is out about me now. A middle aged man, buying a 650cc maxi-SCOOTER just to get women. Although, I am VERY popular at Senior Citizens Centers and Nursing Homes. I can put the portable oxygen tank in the top box and away we go!

I only know one thing about women, and thats that no two are alike anymore than two guys picked at random out of a crowd are. Generalizations, positive or negative, have always gotten me in trouble. ;)

u are my favorite vlogger but im will have to disagree with the reasons why women get bikes. they get them for the same reasons has guys. Plus they get them because they not only get attention for riding a bike, but also they get the attention for being a chick riding a bike.

Anyway, I agree, you don't see as many female moto-posers. They tend to be in it more for the "right" reasons, which is one of the reasons we feel that we have some sort of connection with them. Being a proficient motorcyclist takes a special mindset, so when you see a cute girl with good taste in bikes and the skills to match you pretty much know enough about her to know that she's a keeper (for someone, anyway)
girls probably buy bikes for more "Honest" reasons than guys!
but you must give some guys some credit.. they may get the bike for the wrong reasons... but after a wille.. they learn to really apreciate them... the right way :P

After I posted this I realized that I should've been more specific and said sportbikes instead of motorcycles..but because I know there are alot of guys like you that started because it was cheap, reliable transportation, or because their dads or brothers rode, those are great reasons....but from my experience, guys that buy that expensive, flashy sportbike, tend to want to peacock a bit at first..but I'm with you, motorcycling is part of me and I couldn't live with out it..

I dont see the point in giving a women credit for riding just because you feel an emotional attraction to her and putting down basically all male riders. Female riders get bikes for the same reasons males do. They have egos also and must females feel like they have to prove something when there riding because the spot is dominated by man.
Yeah, its true. When a girl rides, its serious. I notice that girls who do trackdays really want to practice and learn. Whereas there's a bit of ego with the guys. (although girls do have egos too if theyre trying to prove that they can be just like a guy- why?)
I bought my first bike cuz I didn't have a car and it I only paid $50 for it.. Then spent another $300 getting it road worthy.. Best $350 I ever spent :-)

It was laying on it's side in a guys back yard.. Had it running in less than a week.. Just needed some TLC.. A friend still owns it, and it still runs :-)
Cheap bikes can be good ones. I just recently bought my first bike and paid $600 for it. Put about a thousand miles on it and now it needs a little TLC too, but still the best money ever spent!

What a great title billmaa. That alone made my day. As a women I am very independent with a since of adventure and since becoming a biker that has only gotten worse and now I have developed a need for quick acceleration. Hmmm Life is good.

Good vid as always Billy. Well I guess the secret is out about me now. A middle aged man, buying a 650cc maxi-SCOOTER just to get women. Although, I am VERY popular at Senior Citizens Centers and Nursing Homes. I can put the portable oxygen tank in the top box and away we go!

I only know one thing about women, and thats that no two are alike anymore than two guys picked at random out of a crowd are. Generalizations, positive or negative, have always gotten me in trouble. ;)
The other thing I learned is that not all girls in Thailand are actually girls, but thats another topic.
It is really sexy though to see a girl on her OWN bike, thats for sure! :D

My wife was a biker when we met.
It was a weird story involving my buddy having an accident in downtown Chicago and me and another friend going downtown to get his bike.
I thought she was kind of stuck up when I first talked to her. LOL

LOL! It's always encouraging to hear that tomboys can be attractive, too. As much as I love pink and love to dress up... I also love to go rock climbing and go riding. When you were listing off "sense of adventure... baseball game... camping.. hiking... etc." it was like a checklist of my hobbies and interests. Stop reading my mail, billmaa!! :)
I still keep my visor down when I'm riding alone, though. Guys can be like vultures.

I honestly haven't noticed much of a difference. But I do (in reverse) notice the guy who is a fellow rider more. LOL. It's a two-way street, we just have better pickin's. :-)

u are my favorite vlogger but im will have to disagree with the reasons why women get bikes. they get them for the same reasons has guys. Plus they get them because they not only get attention for riding a bike, but also they get the attention for being a chick riding a bike.

strongly agree with you billmaa but ive got my eye on this one girl who i believe is somewhat like not sure though however that she would jump on bike right away, probably would after a little convinceing but she escapes me, shes the type that you think youve got figured out then dodges and hits you with a hook. i dont know but anyway ive watched your 6 vid series and really enjoyed keep it up

Anyway, I agree, you don't see as many female moto-posers. They tend to be in it more for the "right" reasons, which is one of the reasons we feel that we have some sort of connection with them. Being a proficient motorcyclist takes a special mindset, so when you see a cute girl with good taste in bikes and the skills to match you pretty much know enough about her to know that she's a keeper (for someone, anyway)

girls probably buy bikes for more "Honest" reasons than guys!
but you must give some guys some credit.. they may get the bike for the wrong reasons... but after a wille.. they learn to really apreciate them... the right way :P
take me.... i started riding bikes because of work....a car was just to expensive!..
but after i got my bike.. i learned what riding was all about... just the joy of riding!
and now... i cant live with out a bike!

After I posted this I realized that I should've been more specific and said sportbikes instead of motorcycles..but because I know there are alot of guys like you that started because it was cheap, reliable transportation, or because their dads or brothers rode, those are great reasons....but from my experience, guys that buy that expensive, flashy sportbike, tend to want to peacock a bit at first..but I'm with you, motorcycling is part of me and I couldn't live with out it..

I dont see the point in giving a women credit for riding just because you feel an emotional attraction to her and putting down basically all male riders. Female riders get bikes for the same reasons males do. They have egos also and must females feel like they have to prove something when there riding because the spot is dominated by man.

Yeah, its true. When a girl rides, its serious. I notice that girls who do trackdays really want to practice and learn. Whereas there's a bit of ego with the guys. (although girls do have egos too if theyre trying to prove that they can be just like a guy- why?)

I bought my first bike cuz I didn't have a car and it I only paid $50 for it.. Then spent another $300 getting it road worthy.. Best $350 I ever spent :-)
But i agree that Female Motorcyclists are alot more enticing
and you can launch all the Paris Hilton, Tea Cup poodle carrying wannabees to Uranus

Cheap bikes can be good ones. I just recently bought my first bike and paid $600 for it. Put about a thousand miles on it and now it needs a little TLC too, but still the best money ever spent!
