It has always been so. Might makes right, the strong dominate the weak--only the definitions of strength and might have changed. A lot of money, a lot of education, and you can become part of the elite. The Knights Templars were destroyed by the Power Elite. I think if they existed today, they would be a group of religious mystics and warrior monks, fighting to bring about God's Kingdom on earth, and probably battling against the New Secular Order.
