@xXDrNisse1Xx Well, the Bugatti is a street leagal car. I highly doubt that Tom Nelson's 572 TT will meet any emission/noise laws. And on another note, the Veyron SS runs on pump gas. If you want 2000 hp from the 572, you have to run race gas. As a street car, it will not make it. And that ruins the idea. There are lots of non street cars that are faster than the Veyron, It has to be able to set the world record in street trim, AND be a serial production car with licence plates. A "wet dream".

@bigbudha168 As a matter of a fact, it produces far more than 3000, seeing as how only about 15 % of the energy from combustion is actually used for locomotion.

@0YeahYouKnow0 look up videos for the neslon v8 engine. 2500 hp of a single turbo v8. very impressive. Double the output of the veyrons engine with half the displacement.
@waydlemx 1. The Nelson engine for this car is a 572 with TWO turbos. 2. The engine for the Dagger produces 2000 hp on race fuel, not 2500 hp, so it's prolly the hotrod series engine. 3.The Veyron engine is 8 ltr. the 572 = 9.37340 ltr. 4. The Veyron SS engine is street leagal. What are you on about?!
@JuggaloOzi Hennesseys' Venom already has a top speed of 274, beating even the Veyron Super Sport. Just get used to the fact that technology never sleeps, and dont assume that anyone can stay King of the Hill for very long. Change is relentless, and inevitable. Also, since Bugatti's design team is retarded, my suggestion is you guys make one with very little interior comforts. Similar to how Lamborgini has the superleggera, and ferrari the scuderia.

@JuggaloOzi Here's some info: We have done some research on the race-worthiness of our $1.8M competitor, the 4500-pound Bugatti Veyron and we discovered the Veyron exited the Standing Mile at 204 mph. @damustangman I don't believe we have said that. Although the Dagger is being designed specifically to break the 300 mph barrier and be the first-ever street-licensed-and-registered Supercar to do it.

@mrk2ovtec go to Nelson Racing Engines he is building the engines he has a gear referenced boost and fuel pressure regulated horse power it's like Horses on tap not like Merc. using the breaks to get traction(about the stupidest thing I have ever scene on a car)
@mrk2ovtec NHRA knows traction. Our NHRA Team has designed a drag racing package that comes with a host of goodies for our NHRA drag racing friends. We start with a design that emulates and replicates the traction mechanics of a Pro Stock Dragster which routinely achieve over 205 mph in the Quarter Mile. (The Bugatti Veyron recorded a 204.4 in the Standing MILE, not the Quarter Mile!)
@mrk2ovtec Equal-length A-arms keep the wheels flat like a solid axle would and they keep the rear wheels from cambering inward, so we get a nice flat patch to grip the surface. The Dagger GT comes with extra-wide rear wheel wells capable of holding Pro Stock slicks or fat sticky DOT ET Drag tires. We also employ a drag racing clutch, special gearbox, torque converter and shifter not to mention our custom drag racing system with twin hydraulically-launched chutes.
@tjmick1992 Yes, it is a custom engine designed for TranStar Racing: 88 mm turbos, dual fuel (octane-on-demand); see spec sheet at the daggergt website. And yes it's cammed.
@TVRnGTR Becouse the american v8 with twin turbos are quite reliable and you can take much horsepower from it. The V12 or V16 are quite rare, production cost are very expensive 3-4x more than v8's. With the tests if something goes down the v8 is simple, v16 are complex engines. Besides the v8 should be lighter, and more compact. I think it's only price. With V12 or V16 the car just easily broke the 1 mln dollars price tag, and be nothing compares to Bugatti - equal the price but have no brand.
2011 will be the year of speed. First the Bloodhound SSC 1000+ mph land speed record attempt and now the first 300+ production car! Now we have to guess when 400+ mph will be broken...2016ish?
It pains me to sound pessimistic, but this sounds entirely too farfetched to be considered real. 2000 bhp? A second and a half to reach 60 mph with a 300+mph top speed all while being street legal? That is exploring far beyond the unknown, even for hypercar standards. This car looks absolutely stunning, don't get me wrong. However, that is quite the lofty benchmark to set. I would love to see this vision become a reality, be it in the near future or otherwise.
This is basicly a great looking design. 300mph is a good marketing tool but if they build one that will compete with the $200k market they will sell all they can make! I wish them luck. I would like to see them excell in what they are trying to achieve.
I hate to sound the pessimist, but this sounds entirely too farfetched to be considered real. Numbers like 300 mph? 60 mph in a second and a half? Even as an American(from Louisiana), I have to say...you're diving headfirst into the unknown, even for hypercar standards. I'd love to see you achieve this dream because the car looks absolutely stunning, but still. You've set quite a benchmark for yourself. Man...
I would pay tons of money that I dont even have just to be a passenger in the car for 10 minutes I fkn love this car! 1000000x better than buggati, I love Lamborghini but when I saw this car... Bye lambo lmao.
•4th gear will be - 1.12: 154mph @6200 rpm /75 mph @3000 rpm
•5th gear will be - 0.80: 216mph @ 6200 rpm /75 mph @2150 rpm
•6th gear will be - 0.56: 308mph @6200 rpm /75 mph @1500 rpm
and u also state that the car will reach the 1/4 mile in 6.7 sec at 204 mph. great but how is somebody supposed to shift from 1st-5th in 6.7 while going 0-204?
@RacerX5034 Our drag test runs will all be performed at PBIR. Standing Mile will be done at Miami’s Top Gun event at Miami-Dade-Collier Everglades Training Jetport. All landspeed runs will be at El Mirage and Bonneville. Road Course runs will be VIR and Nurburgring which are favorable to high horsepower/low weight cars like us. We will be attempting 8 world records.
I forgot to ask, by your calculations how long wil street legal tires last at 320 mph? because the bugatti veyron supersport wears out street legals at 240 which isnt even its top speed in roughly 6-7 minutes and the average from the tests is 6 minutes 44 seconds.
@TranstarRacing are those landspeed tires track worthy? or do they produce no grip on a normal surface? I thought landspeed records were usually set on the bonneville salt flat, which isn't tarmac, obviously.
@damustangman That's right. The salt flats consist of wet mushy salt. The landspeed tires work on salt and are also suitable for dry lakes (El Mirage) and will also work on an asphaltic or Portland cement concrete racing surface (airport standing mile), as long as you are going straight. They are not for road racing or street. They are designed to withstand the centrifugal force of 500 mph plus aero downforce.
I know for a fact that horsepower can be generated and lost from heat that the engine creates, so how much does this actually have before the heat loss?
Ok, two questions i wanna ask ya: what are the dimensions? you know, lenght/width/height? and second: what kind of engine type is it? V8? V12? W16?
And why would you even make the car coupe? It just ruins the looks, because convertible is SO beast. Oh, and how much will it cost in LOWEST HP settings? in USD, of course. And lowest because where I live, you dont even get to do anything with 500 HP, because the roads are so bumpy :(
And oh, will it beat a Murc SV on a drag with a 50mph roll start?
@apllecat The Dagger GT will have an all-aluminum 2700 horsepower Nelson Racing Engine 632 Twin Turbo engine. The starting price for the Dagger Gt is $450k. To see specs for the Dagger GT visit daggergt.com. We're planning to break the world speed records, so the Murc SV should be doable.
Since there is no hard evidence to support these specs it's really hard believe that street legal car could do over 300mph and 0-60 in 1.5 sec. Don't get me wrong but there has been a lot of these "Bugatti killers", but only one has achieved that. And in my book, if this car can only achieve these specs by being non street legal, it's not as good as Bugatti, because that car you can take to the public road.
@PeteSa88 I think it's the fact no one ever bothered to produce such a car before that makes you think it can't be done. Most of the sports and so called super cars we grew up with were about performance and designed from racing with a balance of speed and handling for the street. Now with composites. alloys, ceramics and new tire technology and more wealthy benefactors to finance it's possible do what a few years back couldn't be done.
Buddy, In what century are u living?? 250mph is broken before 20 years with aftermarket build car. And McLaren F1 set 241mph as top speed for fastest production supercar (still without TurboC or SuperC). Koenigsegg set new record and than it's all started to catch highest top speed. Dagger have same materials like McLaren, but more powerful engine, better d.c, and tires even better than Bugatti. Gearbox must be also great to transmit all that power to the ground. Maintaining?? Huge.
@Albiinomajava The Dagger GT is in design-development at this time. We expect to begin fabrication very soon with two prototypes completed in the summer of 2011.
Wonderfull Design. You should create a serial car with less horsepower, bit smaler and shorter for public parking and win the design award for sport cars.
Wonderfull Design. You should create a serial car with less horsepower, bit smaler and shorter for public parking and winn the design award for sport cars.
Impressive numbers... on paper. Let's see evidence you can even crack 250mph. Where is REAL footage of the car on the road/track? Where are the actual specs? Like curb weight? The car looks like a dream, but I say the stated goals are one too.
@british123able The Nissan Project Zed car breaks 1.2 seconds in the 0-60 with only 1900 hp. At 4500 pounds, Bugatti has no race team and achieves 204.4 in the standing mile. We will pass 205 mph in the QUARTER mile with our drag package! (Where did you get your info on a 4500 hp Bugatti? An internet blogger? Is that engine going to have 64 cylinders and 16 turbos?? LOL.)
@V8Supercar1 The Dagger GT has too much horsepower for a paddle shifter. However, each car is hand built to the owner’s spec, so a paddle shifter can be provided if the customer insists. TranStar Racing will work with the customer to select a shifter.

hahaha someone got so trolled:D and the sad thing is that that wasnt even a troll :(
This thing doesnt suffer from dated looks like every single american supercar project but... Will it ever be made and is there REALLY a point in putting 2-3000 hp into a car ?
@Janusha The Dagger GT is in design-development at this time and we plan to start production very soon with----- two prototypes completed in the summer of 2011.
If the Veyron showed us anything its that such power needs to be harnessed with amazing technology. There currently is no technology to keep 2-3000 hp on the road. Certainly not out of america. The SSC aero tried and only sold around 10 cars over 3 years mostly to crazy arabs.
I will say however that this thing looks MILES better than any aspiring supercar out of america. But is it really necessary to hunt extremes and chase records. How about instead making a great car.
@TranstarRacing W16 from Volkswagen(Used in Bugatti) have the most strongest forged bottom end ever made in automotive history. Test's show that even 2000 hp Bugatti engine is reliable and 200,000 miles is normal for that car.
W16 Block can endure 3000 hp without problems and reliability is still over 100,000 miles. That's why this engine cost over 500,000 $.
Actually I'm interested in price of Dagger GT?? 500k$? 600k$ or more??
@TranstarRacing You can't make believers of the Bugatti fan boys they can't grasp the concept that a car can be built to best their wet dream. And that's 32 turbo's and another 1 mil pounds to the price tag. After all VW has to get their money back on R&D right .... lmao.
If someone wanted to buy this car in the hype of exceeding 300 mph for whatever type/version of the dagger gt, some saftey features are required, but if a person does not want to buy the safety features but just only 1 or 2 listed in the list on the website, will that be fine? lastley the roll cage is also listed, what if people dont want that, will it be fine? lol because average day cars dont have that but i understand that this car is of its own kind and super sonic speed.
@professorloony the Dagger is custom-made to order, so you can add/subtract what you want. If you do not want an ugly, optional rollcage, you will have to sign-off and accept all liability for any decisions you make to compromise the safety of the vehicle. If you want to take the Dagger GT to a Standing Mile event/track or Dry Lake, we strongly recommend the Landspeed package including 1000 pounds of low, forward ballast.
Bonneville requires a rollcage and high speed chute with backup chute. NHRA also requires a rollcage and twin chutes for 200 mph passes if you want to race on a certified track. As a convertible, no rollcage is required by NHTSA, but you are not allowed to exceed 65 mph either, for street use.
Transtar can you just explain if all the models including race models are street legal ect only unless you change the tires? also will both versions of the car (street and race) acheive its 0-60mph times as listed and top speeds ectt..? the 2000 hp version of either or (street and race) suppose to go 315 mph? On your website you said the 2500 hp version will exceed 320 mph, is that including both versions street and race?
@professorloony Both the 2000 and 2500 engine options should break 300 mph according to our calculations - with landspeed tires. All models will be street legal except in California where our 836 hp engine will be required to meet CARB emissions standards.
We will offer two drag packages: one will use DOT drag tires and the other will use pro stock slicks. The slicks are not street legal. Also, landspeed tires come with our landspeed package and are not street legal. For our attempt at 320 mph we will be using a street model with landspeed package and 2500 hp.
ts ts ts how short-sighted. After this one bugatti will probably introduce a model with 4000 hp. So i think the Dagger GT should be made with at least 8000 hp to last for a decade. duh!
cant wait to hear about this new monster, are you for certain the figures of 315mph top speed 0-60 times and quarter mile ect.. are right when tested? and 320 mph for the 2500hp engine?
At 0:25 it says "performance Goals 1.2 Seconds Zero-to-Sixty mph New Record". Is it possible road legal tires? Especially with low profile one like those, it seems very hard to achieve
@gri3f you mean it depends on if the race fule tank has fule in it or not this engine has 16 fule injectors 2 for each cilinder allong with 2 compleet fule systems 2 tanks 2pumps 2fule lines it squirts race fule wen the boost demands more octain so as not to detnoate you are wrong it's two differint engines both have nelsons octain on demand system
I hope you guys succeed. I look forward to seeing a real video of the car instead of a computer animation. Even if you don't reach your 300mph benchmark, it'll still be something to appreciate.

We also employ a drag racing clutch, special gearbox, torque converter and shifter not to mention our custom drag racing system with twin hydraulically-launched chutes.

why is it always v8 twin turbo why not make a unique engine for it.
TVRnGTR 1 year ago 37
@TVRnGTR Because that would make the selling price for the car even higher.

@TranstarRacing
Is the engine modified in any other way besides twin turbos?
Like is it cammed, etc?
tjmick1992 1 year ago
@tjmick1992 Yes, it is a custom engine designed for TranStar Racing: 88 mm turbos, dual fuel (octane-on-demand); see spec sheet at the daggergt website. And yes it's cammed.
TranstarRacing 1 year ago
@TranstarRacing
so what will this thing rev to?
and how many gears?
and has the guy who designed the gearbox committed suicide? lol
Thats just gotta be so complex...
tjmick1992 1 year ago

Now we have to guess when 400+ mph will be broken...2016ish?
loucam08 1 year ago

Man...

TheMinifro 1 year ago
@TheMinifro We do not recommend street tires for landspeed work. We will use landspeed tires rated to 500 mph to be safe.
TranstarRacing 1 year ago
@TranstarRacing are those landspeed tires track worthy? or do they produce no grip on a normal surface? I thought landspeed records were usually set on the bonneville salt flat, which isn't tarmac, obviously.
damustangman 1 year ago
@damustangman That's right. The salt flats consist of wet mushy salt. The landspeed tires work on salt and are also suitable for dry lakes (El Mirage) and will also work on an asphaltic or Portland cement concrete racing surface (airport standing mile), as long as you are going straight. They are not for road racing or street. They are designed to withstand the centrifugal force of 500 mph plus aero downforce.
TranstarRacing 1 year ago
I know for a fact that horsepower can be generated and lost from heat that the engine creates, so how much does this actually have before the heat loss?
TheMinifro 1 year ago
Sorry, we do not have that number for you.
TranstarRacing 1 year ago
Ok, two questions i wanna ask ya: what are the dimensions? you know, lenght/width/height? and second: what kind of engine type is it? V8? V12? W16?
And why would you even make the car coupe? It just ruins the looks, because convertible is SO beast. Oh, and how much will it cost in LOWEST HP settings? in USD, of course. And lowest because where I live, you dont even get to do anything with 500 HP, because the roads are so bumpy :(
And oh, will it beat a Murc SV on a drag with a 50mph roll start?
apllecat 1 year ago
@apllecat The Dagger GT will have an all-aluminum 2700 horsepower Nelson Racing Engine 632 Twin Turbo engine. The starting price for the Dagger Gt is $450k. To see specs for the Dagger GT visit daggergt.com. We're planning to break the world speed records, so the Murc SV should be doable.

MetalGearSolidFIN 1 year ago
Best looking car ever. I'm going to get one for sure.
MArCusIMgonaGeTYou 1 year ago
Since there is no hard evidence to support these specs it's really hard believe that street legal car could do over 300mph and 0-60 in 1.5 sec. Don't get me wrong but there has been a lot of these "Bugatti killers", but only one has achieved that. And in my book, if this car can only achieve these specs by being non street legal, it's not as good as Bugatti, because that car you can take to the public road.
PeteSa88 1 year ago
@PeteSa88 I think it's the fact no one ever bothered to produce such a car before that makes you think it can't be done. Most of the sports and so called super cars we grew up with were about performance and designed from racing with a balance of speed and handling for the street. Now with composites. alloys, ceramics and new tire technology and more wealthy benefactors to finance it's possible do what a few years back couldn't be done.
JAG03064 1 year ago
@JAG03064
Huge.

Why not build a car with 2-3000hp especially if it's a supercar.
TranstarRacing 1 year ago
@TranstarRacing
Janusha 1 year ago
@TranstarRacing W16 from Volkswagen(Used in Bugatti) have the most strongest forged bottom end ever made in automotive history. Test's show that even 2000 hp Bugatti engine is reliable and 200,000 miles is normal for that car.
W16 Block can endure 3000 hp without problems and reliability is still over 100,000 miles. That's why this engine cost over 500,000 $.
Actually I'm interested in price of Dagger GT?? 500k$? 600k$ or more??
2jzgtejza80 1 year ago
@2jzgtejza80 The price starts at $450k and upwards.

@TranstarRacing You can't make believers of the Bugatti fan boys they can't grasp the concept that a car can be built to best their wet dream. And that's 32 turbo's and another 1 mil pounds to the price tag. After all VW has to get their money back on R&D right .... lmao.
JAG03064 1 year ago
If someone wanted to buy this car in the hype of exceeding 300 mph for whatever type/version of the dagger gt, some saftey features are required, but if a person does not want to buy the safety features but just only 1 or 2 listed in the list on the website, will that be fine? lastley the roll cage is also listed, what if people dont want that, will it be fine? lol because average day cars dont have that but i understand that this car is of its own kind and super sonic speed.
professorloony 1 year ago
@professorloony the Dagger is custom-made to order, so you can add/subtract what you want. If you do not want an ugly, optional rollcage, you will have to sign-off and accept all liability for any decisions you make to compromise the safety of the vehicle. If you want to take the Dagger GT to a Standing Mile event/track or Dry Lake, we strongly recommend the Landspeed package including 1000 pounds of low, forward ballast.
TranstarRacing 1 year ago
Bonneville requires a rollcage and high speed chute with backup chute. NHRA also requires a rollcage and twin chutes for 200 mph passes if you want to race on a certified track. As a convertible, no rollcage is required by NHTSA, but you are not allowed to exceed 65 mph either, for street use.
TranstarRacing 1 year ago
Transtar can you just explain if all the models including race models are street legal ect only unless you change the tires? also will both versions of the car (street and race) acheive its 0-60mph times as listed and top speeds ectt..? the 2000 hp version of either or (street and race) suppose to go 315 mph? On your website you said the 2500 hp version will exceed 320 mph, is that including both versions street and race?
professorloony 1 year ago
@professorloony Both the 2000 and 2500 engine options should break 300 mph according to our calculations - with landspeed tires. All models will be street legal except in California where our 836 hp engine will be required to meet CARB emissions standards.
TranstarRacing 1 year ago
@TranstarRacing nice troll
Himleken 1 year ago
We will offer two drag packages: one will use DOT drag tires and the other will use pro stock slicks. The slicks are not street legal. Also, landspeed tires come with our landspeed package and are not street legal. For our attempt at 320 mph we will be using a street model with landspeed package and 2500 hp.
TranstarRacing 1 year ago
ts ts ts how short-sighted. After this one bugatti will probably introduce a model with 4000 hp. So i think the Dagger GT should be made with at least 8000 hp to last for a decade. duh!
