@EVAUnit4A It has to do with getting around copyright rules that will lead to the video's removal. I'm not sure exactly how it circumvents the law, but based on the number of backwards videos that I see it seems to be an effective strategy.

This was the greatest bit of comedy genius I had seen in a while. It was during the writers strike so no one had any material. This collaboration was absolutely epic and I always laugh so hard when I see this.
I almost wet my pants with laughter every time I see Colbert dance, no matter the moves he makes. My biggest laughs of any Strangers With Candy episodes are during the credits, when Stephen busts a move. :D

You can watch some of the other videos on the Daily Show and Colbert Report websites. Just search for "Conan O'Brien" and the vids'll come up. This is such great improv. One of the best things to come out of the writer's strike.
@vashantir A fair question, all other parts of this saga were removed. It is unfortunate that NBC Universal and Viacom are run by executive dinosaurs who have yet to understand that little clips such as this actually work to promote ratings and DVD sales rather than hinder them. (Southpark as an example)
