Soulja boy came to Springfield, IL for a concert. Did crank that as first song. Threw shirt in the crowd. Did another song. And asked for his shirt back. Before all of this. We waited 45 minutes just see his goofy ass get on the stage.
I noticed the similarity the first time I played that song in DDR. But it's not the first time a rapper has stolen someone elses rhythm. Haven't you eer heard Stronger? About half of that song was ripped from daft punk.
@katiecarrosa Artists besides rappers do that too. Jason Derulo's "In My Head" is strikingly similar to a certain part of the Tekken 2 character select theme. I know it's probably a coincidence, but not knowing that for sure means that there's still the possibility that the artist ripped it off. That's why you gotta bring this stuff up. FOR GREAT JUSTICE. X3

This is stupid lol...Just because it sounds the same doesn't mean he stole it. I mean in actuality what song really is original? Every song is influenced by another. Embarrassing video!
"Kids".. right.. being 25 and recognizing that a douche is still a douche, no matter what no-life rejects think, totally makes me a kid. Do you even know what 'get off his nuts' means? Someone should be saying that to you
Any idiot can type 25 in the age box. I have a life, I simply commented on the video and gave my opinion. You however, find it worth the time to analyze what I said when no one was talking to you. If you're 25, learn to speak when you are spoken to...kid. Yes, I did say get off his nuts, meaning stop hating and grow up. As a 19 year old, I have something better to do than talk to your old ass. Now, reply like the usual Youtube kids do with some lame comeback, you're only talking to yourself now
So, you're saying that all this time, Soulja Boy was just a USA resurrection of Daikenkai? No wonder I always get a strange feeling every time I play Daikenkai.
Actually, soulja boy has a newgrounds account with a bunch of anime-type stuff on it. He's actually a pretty big anime fan, so I'd assume he's played ddr at SOME point.
@PastaBall, before I get started I'm not a Soulja boy fan BUT there have been Jpop and Kpop musicians that copied other musicians in the world but let me guess you'll come up with excuses for them.
As much as I gag at Soulja Boy, I'm sure it's coincidence.

if they were singing and the notes were the same, then i'd say yeah it's stolen. but they are both rapping! you can't own a rhythym, especially not a rhythym as simple as this
ok first of all Soulja Boy didn't steal anything. I'm not a fan of him but unless the lyrics are the same he didn't steal anything. They just sound a little similar. Has anyone noticed that Fall out boy and Panic! At the disco sound alike, yeah but no one really cares and they're the same genre of music. These two songs aren't even the same genre. And to be honest i didn't notice any similarity uthil this video. did you?
I did, because I'm an avid Bemani music game fan. It's not like Soulja Boy really intentionally stole it, it's justa huge conincidince. People need to stop takin shit so seriously...
I probably play more Bemani than you and I've owned the DES-Row CD for quite a while now and have never noticed it. They really aren't that similar after hearing this. And I hate soulja boy
Noted, and correct. But honestly, I find it hard to believe a 17 year old kid from Alabama has ever had significant exposure to Pop'n. DDR, on the other hand, I wouldn't doubt.
You have to understand that music itself is a repost of a repost of a repost, although edited. The good songs are the reposts that are done especially well.
My friends and I always sing Soulja Boy everytime we play Daikenkai. xD
I'm glad other people noticed.

if they were singing and the notes were the same, then i'd say yeah it's stolen. but they are both rapping! you can't own a rhythym, especially not a rhythym as simple as this
we need a full length mash-up now, however

Gosh, I didn't know that there was another song. ^^; Very similar to Soulja Boy's tune but the other one was released earlier? ^^;

ok first of all Soulja Boy didn't steal anything.

People need to stop takin shit so seriously...

tthanks someone agress. I don;t think he would steal it from a japanese arcade game

I probably play more Bemani than you and I've owned the DES-Row CD for quite a while now and have never noticed it. They really aren't that similar after hearing this. And I hate soulja boy

For the record, Daikenkai originated in 2001, on Pop'n Music 6. The song was then ported to DDR Extreme.

Well, now I see someone already posted this fact a few months ago.
Disregard this.

Noted, and correct. But honestly, I find it hard to believe a 17 year old kid from Alabama has ever had significant exposure to Pop'n. DDR, on the other hand, I wouldn't doubt.

As a Bemani and DES-ROW fan.. I must say that I am deeply offended by this crime. How dare they steal such a song! bwahahaha

You have to understand that music itself is a repost of a repost of a repost, although edited. The good songs are the reposts that are done especially well.

Too bad that doesn't apply to this song.

iirovoodoo 3 years ago
