A east coast songwriter Arene Lomax is the composer. A New York Bishop got a hold of it, then Bishop/Apostle WM. Ellis took it back to Chicago -- there it became a "Chicago" woship song which has also been made famous by Pastor Willie Campbell and Pastor Richard D. Hinton.
