  • Yes Spencer! You're right. You can get a wealth of information from solving the problem -- how long each train takes until they meet, how far they traveled until they meet, etc. The trick is to pay attention to what is being asked in the question then going back to your work and picking out the correct information. Well done!

  • if you plug time back into either of the distance equation you get that train 2 catches up to train 1 at 480 miles from Sacramento.
