this chapter, chapter 2 of G2, is pretty much the only time you get the original gothic "feeling" of gothic 1 again. Lots of places you know, everything changed, but some things staid, you get to hear the individual stories of characters you knew from G1...very emotional

You cant be a greater fool than play gothic 1 and 2 without music.. thats why i always play RPGs with the Music of it.. you can play racer with your own sound.. but not RPGs and especially not gothic! ^^

i remember when i hear it first time, when i was going back into mine valley first time, man that was a feeling, to leave all behind you, going with the armory and that some items u have that time into the old minecolony back, and u know everywhere is danger, dragons, orks, monsters and the land is burned, just the stonfort of the old camp isnt totaly destroyed, so u run about ur life against the orks, sourounding the castle.man that was so nice, i played it in english too,but ger version better

its a shame for most gothic fans that after play the first two games about ten times each, they became very easy and without too much emotion,,, at least for me.

i hope there would remakes or more gothics (like g1 and g2)

gothic started to change a little at G3 and i knew G4 would be shit but now i have G4 and completed it in one fucking day i miss the island of khorinis and the penal colony

when i entered the valley of mines in G2 i feeled like home sweet home and now G4 screwed the Gothic series i hope in G4 fall of satarif its gonna by the old Gothic feeling.

@DivNathan It's no real Gothic anymore, Jowood is struggling for survival and wanted to program the game Arcania to please the mainstream audience, means the made the game easier and switched the freeroam experience with a linear experience. If you are a Gothicfan and loved the feeling of Gothic 1 and Gothic 2 + NotR then you will be dissapointed with Arcania.

I must admit i bought it blindly and i played through it one single time, but didn't have the motivation to do it a second time...

What freaks my out about this music?

Everytime you start gothic 1, whilest loading, you hear the soundtrack with this particular theme.

In gothic 2, this theme is not used anymore and comes into play the first time, when you cross the pass, so you are instandly reminded of the mine valley. One of the greatest moments in this game. You absolutely feel like "returning home" with notalgic feelings.

It makes sense, and how it makes :) The music prepared you for the return in an unknown, yet very familiar place. It prepared you for the destruction and danger that was allaround in the colony. You could FEEL the danger waiting for you, behind the next load screen ;) I started with G2, not G1, and therefor couldn't know what would expect me in the colony, I had no clue at all what the colony looked like, and still I felt like returning into the danger, only by hearing this music.
