I am so glad to finally hear this again after 33 years. I first experienced it in Dr. Marvin Lamb's theory class at Peabody University in Nashville when I was getting my masters degree. I've looked for it several times over the years and I'm delighted to hear it again. For the uninitiated, this work was created by Cathy Barberian reading a page from the 11th chapter of Ulysses in three languages. Berio manipulated the tape (a reel-to-reel recorder) to create the "Musique Concrete" collage.

The text is built around the Sirens episode of Ulysses. Berio, in his play with references, may have also added excerpts from other works of Joyce.
