  • I would never let a bum live under my home and me take care of him like Archie did with mike.

  • I love All in the Family, especially seasons 1-5.

  • that was funny. I love when Archie goes bonkers

  • the japs are comin the japs are comin! LOL

  • The blue sweater brings out Archie's eyes

  • Whats the one with the morgage burning party?

  • lol crazy louie

  • Archie's a pisser at the end there: "The Japs are coming! The Japs are coming!

  • Archie looks handsome!

  • A Fellowship...What's that a out of town job? LOL

  • "Ohhhhh a fellowship huh??? A fellowwww shippp!! Well I think I know what I better do! I better go out to Long Island and get myself a FELLOWSHIP in a funny farm!!"

    LOL!!

  • Where the hell did Archie come from?

  • @shawnzee102 He came from the minds of brilliant writers and the soul of a brilliant actor.

  • @beautifulsarah100 Very well put, Carroll was so perfect for this character.

  • kris39100 I LOVE this episode! They went from Irene right to Archie!!! AMAZING!

  • "Take it, take it. What's that an out of town job."

  • 4:53 school

  • Interesting that they said that a Bachelor's isn't 'enough' anymore.

Now, people say the exact same thing- except that they add on that a Bachelor's was important in the 1970s.

  • LMAO@Edith talking to Irene then the next minute it´s Archie....HAHAHA 0:20 LOL...

  • Poor Archie, between Mike and Gloria, Teresa, and Stephanie--I don't he was EVER able to get his den! :(

  • Wow! That was a hell of a magic trick! Irene turned into Archie!

  • NO ONE could have delivered the reaction at 4:20 like Carroll O'Connor. Priceless.

  • Tex Harrison. LMAO

  • @bharathashok2005 Tex Harrison...Clint Westwood, Morris Chevrolet...Duke Wayne, Richard E. Nixon....and on and on!!! LOL.

  • Wait a minute - was there a bad edit in this scene? Where did Archie come from? He just appears out of nowhere.

When they are waiting for the mail and Irene comes over Mike tells her Archie isn't home - then the Stivics leave after the professor calls - then Irene leaves - then Edith gets the wrong number phone call - then Irene comes right back with the envelope. Then all of a sudden Irene disappears and Archie is there as if he were there the whole time. Bizarre!!!

  • I think that's what they call a jump-cut. It's meant to show that time has passed. Irene left and Archie came home.

  • LOVE the smoking jacket/sweater

"You're happy for ME Edith, for ME, whoopdeedoo whoopdeedoo!"

    thats good stuff right there.

  • Man these people are such brilliant actors, they really make you think the characters are real people! Everything is just grade A! Such a testament to the lousy acting and even worse sitcoms around today, All In the Family is a true classic!

  • @FightingForFreedom23 Absolutely spot on. Many people might not agree with this, but even the so called "great" sitcoms that came after this couldn't hold a candle to it. I never understood Friends (a bunch of idiots who need to get a life) and Seinfeld (just negative New York Jewish stereotypes). Nowhere near as intelligent, funny, or well-acted.

  • 4:23 his face........priceless

  • "I'd better go out to long island and get myself a fellowship in a funny farm!!!" I HAVENT LAUGH THIS HARD IN YEARS!

  • 4:37-5:02 LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!

  • I would've loved to have parents or in-laws like Archie and Edith!

  • Comment removed

  • lmao at archie's remarks THE JAPS ARE COMING THE JAPS ARE COMING HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Oh, well.. Looks like he's stuck with professor pollock another year.

  • Let's see. If Poland was never invaded by Germany, the US vets would say any other country we helped save in WW2 were dumb. That is probably why France & England had some stereotypes as well the Ruskies.

  • My God, O'Connor is one hell of an actor!!!

  • I agree with you. It amazes me that Mr. O'Connor was the exact opposite of Archie, yet played Archie so convincingly!

  • LOL "get me a fellowship in the funnyfarm"!

  • "....that's right the meatheads' graduating and he's gettin' the hell outta here!"

  • he said I could get a fellowship.... What's that an out of town job? rofl that was funny the look on archies face

  • The look on Archie's face is classic lol

  • thanks for another great episode. :)

  • the japs are comin the japs are comin!! hahahahahaha!!! Poor Archie always gets screwed in the end :(

  • yeah it seems that way :D
