  • i'll probably listen to this on 12/21/2012

  • I swear Lif is one of the greatest of all time. His name needs to start coming up more

  • David "Fathead" Newman 'Dance of the Honey Bee and the Funky Fly', "Concrete Jungle" [1978]

    sample at 4:15.

  • Good song off a great album.

  • this is so deep

  • @do0rkn0b that's not true. The word convert simply means to change. Plans, policies, system of measure, it doesn't matter. In this instance, changing from a believer to a non believer is a conversion. Therefore it works.

  • lif and ak are my favorite underground attests!!

  • Mr Lif is just about to release another classic featuring Andy Kayes!!

  • This is what hip-hop/rap was MEANT TO BE!

    Props & Peace.

  • conscience will be they're crucifix the chopping block for poppycock and i can feel our spirits drop upon these streets i oddly walk enough talk

  • Jean Grae's verse is raw

  • It was gentle fission kiss on my block, in hot light, like a baby breathing sigh over terrain...

One of the most unsettling lines I've ever heard.

  • absolutely the best with jean grae it's a done deal it's plain insane

  • "convert to atheism" you don't covert to a lack of belief. other than that, dope song.

  • @do0rkn0b then what do u do?

    morph?

    convert means to change

    it works completly fine

quit being nitpicky and go write ur own rhymes with perfect grammer

  • BUUUUUUUUUUUUUM

  • Havent heard this in years... Smile

  • listening to Lif gave me love that shined, a powerful mind that lifted my spirit and strengthened my spine. This album changed my life :)

  • What Are The Samples?

    Thanks!

  • this song is one big story, song after song leads to one big story

  • this was one of the last good tracks by elpee before he fell off and stopped doing hip hop for the streets

  • El-P hasn't fallen off you muppet!

  • This is one of the best albums I´ve ever listened.

    Peace from Holland

  • i once heard this track on the bobitto the barber show cmfamalam on wkcr 89.9f ny that i think had can ox & jean grae talking about some necrophilia on her ex-lover who she kills...mad sick...anybody know what i'm talking about!?

  • Swing Blades - Jean Grae ft. Can Ox. Could be the one..... If you're still bothered/haven't found it! Safe.

    Check out UK hip hop!

  • @Hulmaldo thats a dope compilation rite there

  • woooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mr. Lif never quits

  • Amazing track, hipnotic beat . Everyone is shining very well on this track. Mr.lif's verse is mad positive. Jean Grae's not so much, yet untouchable fire. All around classic track.

  • Jean Grae always seems to have epic verses on other peoples songs. I got one of her albums and for the most part it wasn't that great. But her verse here is dope.

  • i agree she was sick on Talib Kweli's Eardrum (Say Something) and on Masta Ace's Disposable Arts (Hold U) but her solo album isn't as good as her performences as a guest MC

  • She's a "Short n Sweet" lyricist. As long as she doesn't have to think of the overall idea, and is directed to a specific place, she'll rip. Not saying it's a bad thing, but it does limit her.

  • Maybe her guest appearnace rhymes are ghost written, at least in part. Intit!

  • Most of Lif is amazing. Very life affirming. 'Success' is the best. Tells you your job is bullshit and you should focus on true things in life.

  • That whole trilogy of tracks (Success, daddy dearest and the now) is fucking fantastic.

The whole album is great, even better than Mo' Mega, I think.

  • i would like to think that that was one of the better mr lif songs (through my opinion) but i havent heard themm all yet

  • If you haven't heard "Because They Made It That Way", than you must hear that one. It's the only Lif song that I really really love. Universal is dope too, but still no comparision.

  • ill check it out

  • oh wow. this is probably the perfect ending to an album, this album....just wow. so good such feeling. that beat!!!

  • This is the definition of hip-hop mastery.

  • dayum dahht waz pretty ill!

  • brrrrrr. great track

  • i prefer Phantom

  • "I'm at peace with my life, cause knowin' you is divine, you made me see eternal beauty in a world that was dying."

That's why you got to love Lif. Find someone that makes you feel that way. It's the meaning of life...

  • wow, i was thinking of something to say about this "It's the meaning of life" is perfect. props. and its not just lif either, we are fortunate enough to have the talents of Jean Grae, too.

  • I know it sounds gay, but it's true unless you have kids-finding someone that you love more than yourself. Will really give your life meaning...

Yes, and Jean Grae does wreck it(the good way)...

  • the title means life

    doesnt it??

  • after death

  • pallor mortis reffers to skin paleness, which occurs post mordem(after death) stop trying to sound smart, u dont know what you mean.

  • lol

  • @SoleAce

    true meaning of lif

  • it sucks na JK cool than a bitch

  • Lif's verse is one of the greatest ever.

  • one of my personal favorates from lif

  • Supreme!

  • ill.
