  • beautiful ship

  • what the fuck. 6 props its a multicopter hexacopter

  • @azezrtyuuiopqsdfghjk -- Real one (after the first model anyway) also had 4 jets outboard of the prop engines.

  • @prosperomage

Some versions had the jets, later on. Early 36's did not.

  • @azezrtyuuiopqsdfghjk I'll have what he's smoking...

  • Great landing

  • i only miss the Nuke ...

  • This is AWESOME!!!

  • He was rich when he started and poor by the time he finished.

  • Nice!

  • It's almost too bad the Jet age was upon us when this thing was created. a very impressive aircraft.

  • @hallis1 Maintenance nightmare for example it had 336 spark plugs per plane! and 336 valves per plane 28 cylinders per engine.

  • This is an amazing plane

  • Is that Dutch Holand flying that B-36? Profile mission; Texas to Alaska and back.

  • it truely is not a b36 with out the jet engines.... but wmraider is correct.. they were retrofitted to get the beast up faster. However, in the movie Strategic Air Command (1955), all B36's had the jet engines.

  • @midrange18 I think the jet engineless B 36s have a look all their own and are still a B 36.

  • @kolbpilot i guess its how its introduced to you. I've always known it to have the jet engines since the first time i saw one. Sill a sweet RC plane in the vid for sure. I wonder how much different it is to control an RC plane with props pushing instead of pulling.

  • @midrange18 I understand. The 10 engine version truly is a sight. They had one on display at Chanute AFB when I was there for training in '80. Later I was assigned to Ellsworth and even later, to Loring. Those 2 bases were the only 2 bases in SAC to have what was called an 'arch hangar'. Built specifically to house a B-36.

  • nice vid buts its missing the jet engines in both wing tips but still nice vid

  • @C17globemaster500 The underwing jet pods were added later in the design. Early B36's didn't have them.

  • i love that plane

  • Everybody builds scale but nobody flys scale.

  • @19thSFGA Some of us try really hard to fly scale. I agree with you that a lot of guys that build a tremendously good looking scale airplane fly them like an ugly stick. I suppose that's why there is a team scale event where you get a good builder teamed up with a good flyer that presents the airplane well in flight.

  • Can she carry a small A-bomb?

  • That must be murderous to control in a strong crosswind... and with a strong tailwind I daresay she would be one helluva plane!

  • Not sure about ALL B-36 models, but at least some also had 4 jet engines. That would have been very cool. Beautiful model. Great flight. Thanks for posting this video for all to see.

  • @learning41230 that's right, they had two twin turbojet pods outboard of the piston engines. Thus, it was nicknamed "six turning, four burning." There were only two built, and the only bombing run it ever made was a testing instrument accidentally dropped over a middleschool. There were no casualties other than a destroyed bathroom stall lol. True story!

  • After looking this up, I may have gotten my facts wrong on how many they made and what was dropped, accidentally or otherwise...I can't remember where I read that...oh well, my mistake. Awesome awesome model!

  • I remember Arthur Godfrey talking on his show, about what it was like to fly a B-36. He said you need to imagine laying the Washington Monument on its side and putting wings on it. LOL

  • very nice airplane, but a boring video!

  • Mighty amazing aircraft!
