The reason why monthers want to get their babies ears' pierced young is because they will not remember it,sure they cried,but when they are just MONTHS old,they will not remember from such time ago.
Well in my opinion, I don't think kids should have their ears peirced at this young of an age. What I would do is wait for my child to get old enough to make her own decisions on if she wants her ears peirced or not.

I got my ears pierced when I was a little bit younger than 6 months old, and only had a problem when I got older and stopped taking care of them right. I'm 18, now, still have them pierced. My mum did it for me because she wanted to do it at a young enough age to where I wouldn't remember them hurting. I would probably do it for my kids, too.
@ambermileyjadex It's totally normal. The majority of baby girls get their ears pierced. I did at the same age this little one did and I love my ears pierced. So nothing harsh about this. It's just the sudden little prick that scares them, not the pain.

As you can see, she was a bald little girl so it was definitely easier to keep it clean and avoid infections. As I've stated she is still alive and well and still wearing earrings. Not once has she brought up to me how much she still remembers and hates that her ears were pierced. :)

I remember when I got mine pierced when I was four, but then redone when I was five because one hole was a bit off-centred. Didn't like either time and too scared to pierce again...but also, I don't want more holes in my ears, haha.
I have two beautiful daughters that got their ears pierced when they were infants. They are both adults with children of their own and not traumatized lunatics. One of them did choose to let her holes close up, however she did get her baby girl's ears pierced.
I think it's good to get your child's ears pierced because when they get older, they won't remember the pain, and if they don't want pierced ears, they can let the hooks close. That was a run-on sentence.
I was 18 months old when my mom got my ears pierced. I'm now 18 YEARS old and I've graduated highschool, I'm not a lunatic who goes around killing people, and I LOVE that my mom got it done at a time when I couldn't remember the pain :)

vaccinations are more painful and they end up sick for a few days... piercing will make them cry for a few mins and they will look pretty for the rest for their lives. i thank my mom so much for doing this to me when i was a baby cuz she saved me all the pain going thru it as a teenager

@omyr84 and vaccinations can be lifesaving. Pierced ears look cute (to some people) big difference.

Now this sweet little girl is two and she won't keep her earrings in for anything! Daddy got her diamonds and she lost them. Oh well, if they close up that's fine. Thank you all for the views and comments.

Yeah, better to get it when the experience won't really be remembered.
I remember when I got mine pierced when I was four, but then redone when I was five because one hole was a bit off-centred. Didn't like either time and too scared to pierce again...but also, I don't want more holes in my ears, haha.

I have two beautiful daughters that got their ears pierced when they were infants. They are both adults with children of their own and not traumatized lunatics. One of them did choose to let her holes close up, however she did get her baby girl's ears pierced.

I think it's good to get your child's ears pierced because when they get older, they won't remember the pain, and if they don't want pierced ears, they can let the hooks close. That was a run-on sentence.

I was 18 months old when my mom got my ears pierced. I'm now 18 YEARS old and I've graduated highschool, I'm not a lunatic who goes around killing people, and I LOVE that my mom got it done at a time when I couldn't remember the pain :)
People need to just stop :P
