A summary: As Kirk and his crew are decommissioned to make way for the Picard, the brash new Captain gets under Kirk's skin: a mistake. Realizing his mistake, and after being humbled by Kirk in their intitial encounter, Picard refits his ship and readies his new crew. It's a decent idea, and in some ways is done very well. The music works and the clips go together nicely into a cohesive trailer. However, it suffers from low quality, mediocre titles, and what I like to call aspect ratio fail. Still, it's pretty cool.

Kirk never had a maneuver named after him, and if he got his hands on the Enterprise D or E he still wouldn't stand a chance against the Borg.

I love the part where the reporter asked what Krik had been doing since retirement and it show Kirk making eggs and then he said keeping busy. That was just awesome. Shatner was going to be in the new Star Trek movie by a hologram recording that Kirk made for Spock before he disappered and Spock was going to show it to the younger Kirk but Shatner wanted a bigger part because Nimoy had a big part but since he died Abrams said that didn't work and Shatner asked why can't Kirk come back like in his book but Abrams said that the new movie is about the younger versions of everyone in TOS so Shatner wasn't in the new one because Abrams was smart.

I hate to sound like too much of a geek but there was a 70 gap between Kirk and Picard. A whole bunch of mental gymnastics were required for OS characters to appear on TNG episodes and movies.

I agree that Kirk should have been in the new film if possible, but they DID indeed write in a scene for Shatner, but they left it on the cutting room floor. And, Abrams obviously gave Shatner a cameo, but ended up not using it (presumably because of Generations). So, don't blame Abrams. Shatner has no business yelling about not getting a cameo, when either he really did film one or he was offered it and turned it down. Cool trailer, btw
