Go to the keyboard controls hit advanced, and then display developer console. Then hit the ` or ~ (without the shift) when in game to open the developer console. Good luck with the rest of it though...

That isnt available in the demo dont think. Try right clicking on preoperties while in steam over the game. The type in -console somewhere in there.

wait i did changelevel but it does the same thing as map it starts, saying "map is unplayable" then i click ok but all 4 players are stuck together

Start up single player. Type changelevel de_dust in console. Replace de_dust with what ever map you put in.

It's a simple matter of extracting de_dust.bsp from Counter Strike Source with GCFScape and putting it on L4D's maps folder.

Don't forget that you also have to extract all it's models, and materials. For me to make it more easier i extracted the whole map, models, and materials folders from CSS into L4D. Yet still some models, materials, and decals where missing. If you don't do all that and just extract the map file it'll look all purple.

This is not a mod. This is made by valve. I just extracted the css map de_dust into The Left 4 Dead Demo.
