Clapton has never been more creative as when he was playing with these guys, his phrasing and riffs are brilliant. I think out of all the Clapton tones, these were his best. You can tell that experience carried over to his first few solo albums, after that his music kinda lost the soul it used to have. Still a great player though, he played the riffs BEFORE they became clich'e.
Hard to argue with that period in Clapton's life. That entire ensemble was the SH*T back in the day, of course comprising much of Joe Cocker's band, as well as Derek and the Dominos. But the emotional and romantic stress of Eric's life certainly must have been a factor in his brilliance. Consider the similar stress in Amy Winehouse's life when she composed the fabulous "Back to Black" CD.
Your comment - sadly - was the first I had heard of Delaney's passing. He was, and remains a shining light in American roots music. What a synthesis of delta blues, R & B, gospel and rockin' soul he created with Bonnie and throughout his career! No one did it better.
I am so in love with Eric Clapton's hair in this vid......he looks extremely cute :)

Clapton never could find his way home. he never found a place where he belonged
mystro810 2 years ago
he's always been a solitary man he's said in a few interviews
it just took him about 10 years to find that out

@LesbianVampireLover Yes, yes and any other artist whose 'baby has left them' or 'treats them bad'. It's a common situation, you know.

ya I see that now. The body seemed too big at first to be an LP, but 335 doesn't have an upper horn. It's such a dark video but man it sounds great.

Heh, he's pretty much the reason the Les Paul is played by so many guitarists today.
