I think it sounds fine. These songs don't need perfect notes, they just need really good rhythm because of the jazzy feel they have. I love Steely Dan basslines.
@jugglerjoe I have not signed in for a while.. but YES... I used flat wound strings... I have completely lost my desire for "bright" strings... flats give it groove!
Very nice bass! Do it again (no pun intended) but consider going direct thru the sound card, or turn up the bass. You cant tell on some parts whether it's you or the recording. I can tell from knowing how to play the song note for note that a few errors were made, but it is pretty good overall.
On "girls say when," the bass notes are C, G, F. Try it out!
