HEY everyone who likes old school aussie rock, click on the channel link and listen to 'just say it 2.0. We're 4 highschool students starting off in a band and hardly anyone knows about us and it would help alot if you guys could just check us out, we have a really good sound and if you like what you hear follow us for more. Thanks.
im english and and spent the first half of the 1980's in WA, NSW, +QLD, i loved all the bands from that time during high school, and work, saw the hoodoo's, oils, inxs, mentals, rose tatoo, church, radiators, hunters, barnsey, dragon, pseudo echo,ect.. i was a member of the hoodoo gurus glee club, and they sent me signed picture with brad, dave, james, clyde's, names on it which i still have!
That's a bit of a generalisation isn't it? I'm British, and although I like looking at Kylies arse, I also like other Australian stuff! (Just can't think of any right now)
Growing up in Sydney I salivated over every Gurus release. They were gods to a tennage boy playing in a band. I saw them live countless times and they are one of the most rocking live acts still.
For me though Blue Cave was their best album. A true journey and great example of well crafted rock
nice mullet on the drummer.what was the other tune they did on the tube? was it in the wild? yeah unfortunately the sounds poor but this was probably before stereo tv and video.
f*** that ! ever heard kinky, blue cave or blow your cool ? faultless. i love this band. loads of people have nicked from them. they shall have their day. yes yes yes yes i'm impressed.
Like, wow! Super tight black jeans, long hair and paisley shirts combined with killer hooks...well, that's garage rock, and few did it better than the magnificent Gurus!
Akadak is right. What was weak was the promotion by the label. I was there, and can tell you that here in America, they were left to languish. Typical labels (A&M, Big Time, Elektra and RCA), they get great artists and then promote the cheesiest act on the roster who'd make the quick bucks.... If you've ever met a promotions person (not all by most) from a label, you'd know why. These guys were one of the best of the era.

the phrase "under rated" gets tossed around a lot. The Hoodoo Gurus truly are.
How often do you hear them play and not smile?

NO IT'S TRUE! BRITISH PEOPLE ONLY LIKE KYLIE! THEY ONLY KNOW KYLIE! I'm sure when the Triffids and Gurus did the Tube, the show lost viewers!!!

Nice take Scarey. It wasnt the Gurus fault the producers could not get more out of a studio session. Live they were incredible.

best live thing i ever saw this tour. two years later they still had it but the albums were always bit weak.
thanks for putting this up
