  • Not an Irish song, its an Ulster song,...from the city of Belfast!

    ULSTER IS BRITISH :D

    Love this song

  • @51wins this is not an ulster song it is an irish song

belfast is part of IRELAND NOT BRITIAN IRELAND

    FUCK BRITIAN

  • @nickcsistokes

Belfast is in Northern Ireland, sorry.

  • @51wins Oh really? That's funny because the album it's in is called "IRISH Heartbeat" Anyway, Ulster isn't British, just some of the people here are. Also three counties in Ulster are infact part of the Republic so don't refer to Northern Ireland as Ulster. Ulster will always be an Irish province of Ireland no matter what the Brits say. ;)

  • @Skyifictionable

dont really want to get into a debabte, but you must be from the Republic becuase people in Northern Ireland call Ulster just the 6 counties, even though in Old Ireland it included 3 that are now part of Ireland. Thats why u have Ulster TV and BBC Ulster etc.

Back to the song Its a Belfast song therefore - British. One of the most known and liked songs yet its not even Ireland ;)

  • @51wins No, actually I'm from Northern Ireland, near Ballymena. I don't called Northern Ireland Ulster. I call it the North of Ireland like most nationalist. "Old Ireland”? The term Ulster is still used to refer to the entire province of Ulster in sports, for example Ulster Championships. People compete from all nine Ulster counties.

And no matter how much you don't want to admit it, you live on the Island of Ireland in the Irish province of Ulster. Look up "Ireland" in Wikipedia.

  • @51wins You have "Ulster TV" etc. Because thick headed Unionists didn't want to call Northern Ireland by it's proper name. "Ulster says no" LOL Erm... I doubt people in Donegal say no to them being part of the Republic. Ian Paisley wasn't very good a geography, was he?

Belfast isn't British; it was set up by the Irish, like most of the towns and cities in Northern Ireland. The British just moved in. Craigavon was probably the only one set up by the British.

  • @Skyifictionable you just proved my point, Northern Ireland is often called Ulster....lol.

As for towns being set up by Irish, they werent called Irish back then when the towns were set up they were celtic peoples anyway we wont get into that, becuase it makes no difference we are talking about today and Belfast is British the entire Northern Ireland is British end of story...im not going to comment again cause i cant be assed with a debate with no outcome

  • @51wins Yes, NI is often called Ulster my Unionists who don't know their geography. Like yourself obviously.

You're an idiot.. They were Irish people. The Celtic people in Ireland then, were Irish Celts. I am a descendant of those Irish Celts who built the towns in Ireland. Celtic is just a word to refer to people who speak a Celtic language which includes Welsh, Cornish, Scottish, Irish, Scots and a few others. It's like British - It includes Scottish, Welsh and English.

  • @51wins Belfast isn't British; it was set up by Irishmen. NI isn't British it was set up by Irishmen. It's just been trampled on by dirty British feet, like yourself. I guess

  • @Skyifictionable Quis separabit fuck you fenian bastard and dublin was founded by the norse so your logic is flawed

  • @Foolishk1ng Well, Hello to you too. I'm used to the crap you "huns" give me and my people. So I'll ignore it.

Anywho, using Wikipedia to try and prove me wrong was just stupid. Irish settlements were present in the area which is now Dublin well before the Norse, as you call them, started ruling.

    Bómánta, bómánta... buachaill.

  • @Skyifictionable learn ur history english men came and took a part of ireland and named it ulster not northen irland ulster the plantation of ustler not northen irland

  • @1ninjakiller1Learn my history? You need to learn your English. "Irland"? It's Ireland. The British didn't name NI anything until 1922 when they named it Northern Ireland.

The Term "Plantation of Ulster" was used to refer to British (mostly Scottish) people moving over to Ireland and settling there.

  • @51wins

This i an irish song you fool

    Does it sound British? No!!

  • @Haley370

Considering its about Belfast and also played by Loyalist Flute bands I'd say its a Northern Ireland song...played and loved by people from both sides of the community!

  • Anyone who thinks my cultures music sucks is a whore

  • SAVAGE BEST SONG COME ON IRELAND

  • bit out of time A?

  • I love it.

  • the lyrics are off harrrrrrd!!!

its fucking st paddys day and all a bitch wants to do is sing a long to a fucking irish song .. mother fuckers bahahahahahahaaa

  • it depends on whos singing it.... in the pubs of dublin they ususally sing dublin city ;)

  • It is called Belfast Belle, not dublin belle "lol" :P

  • @kannupriya1989 FALSE

    its belfast city not dublin

  • --Lyrics!--

I'll tell me ma when I go home

The boys won't leave the girls alone

They pull my hair & stole my comb

But that's all right till I get home

    (chorus)

She is handsome, she is pretty

She is the belle of Dublin city

She is courting one, two, three

Please, won't you tell me, who is she?

  • @kannupriya1989 Dont listen to them, you are singing a different version of the song, and Dublin city is sung in one of the versions.

  • @Valentin119 it is still called the belle of belfast altho there is a posibillity that someone screwed up a classic song

  • @ranger12116 No no, there is no official title unless you think about the Golden City. Irish people have Dublin City, english or scottish people have Belfast, or some other city name, its not that its wrong there is just different version.

  • The text is wayyy too slow for the speed of the song. This is awful!

  • u really messed up the lyrics they are WAY to slow moving for the beat of the music

  • Great big Sea is a newfie band not irish and this band is from newfoundland!!!

  • Newfs are pseudo-Irish anywas.

  • I'm singing this 4 my school's presentation night!! :D ITS THE BEST

  • Long live the Irish :D

  • @connorhtanime shame belfast is british then :)

  • I'm not trying to be a whiner here, but the timing with the lyrics and th song is pretty bad.

  • who does this version? It's AWESOME :D :)

  • @Shassouneh its by the young dubliners they are great

  • @Jakob1224 No the Young Dubliners didn't do this version I dont think. Theres is different.

  • @Shassouneh

This version was recorded by the group "Quilty."

  • @Shassouneh i believe this version is from a band called Quilty

  • i love the Irish

  • Think The Original Is By

Sham Rock - Tell Me Ma

    N Yea Its Downloadable

  • Nah the Sham Rock version is a cover. It's a traditional folk song dating back to the 19th century. Though I bet modern versions differ quite a bit.

  • This version is by Quilty.

  • geiles lied

  • Best version, thanx!:))))
