  • Wtf aliens at the end.

  • wats with this show? Is there an actual story if so please someone tell me all i see is it starts out all cute then they go killing each other randomly PLEASE TELL ME WHATS GOINGON!!!!

  • @GearBearist - Watch it till the end. If I told you, I would spoil it.

  • @GearBearist the best part about higurashi + kai is that it all makes sense in the end and the mystery is what keep you going. some don't have the patience to finish it, and those people don't know what they're missing.

  • I love this song. I love this anime. I love the meaning. I love the characters. I fucking love Higurashi.

  • Me: Oh thats so cute, Satako hugging Shion :)

Friend: Why does that little girl have her face in the green haired girls boobs?

    Me: ...

  • That wheel at 0:40... I just realised, that there's the EXACTLY same wheel in Black Butler vol 2, one of the last pages, pehind Sebastian.

Wtf? :D What's with this wheel thingy? Is that like some kind of symbol?

  • when she saw her boob she justed cuddled on

  • I wonder. do the flowers on each of the couplet characters have any meaning? I'm not sure what each plants name is but I'm sure it has great symbolism

  • @Narutoluver15 The flowers are probably symbols from the opening theme, Naraku no Hana (Hell Flowers).

  • @Sagemaster00

Think of the endlessly repeating events in both seasons, the way how everything was the same cycle of death with no way out.

It also resembles a spinning clock, you know, time.

  • i started the anime's first season today, had to stop cause the computer is too slow, is the anime supposed to be that confusing

  • @SebastianLoverr It is supposed to be confusing. Quoting 07th Expansion: "....Warmly watch over those who are drowning in the sea of keys." Have fun it's a GREAT series.

  • is this anime dubbed, i been told it is, and told its not. if it is, someone link it. and i don't mean fandubbed

  • @SebastianLoverr First season is dubbed officially but the other seasons aren't.

  • @SebastianLoverr From what I remember, the first season is english-dubbed. Not sure if they've dubbed kai just yet.

animefreak.tv is a pretty decent website for anime.

  • @okleika Because it is to punish the wrong that people do, even if they never made the wrong in the first place.

  • @Manuellotito Y'see, Your comment got spammed, :P

  • 0:48 May I ask what that snow flake looking symbol represents? I saw it in Umineko as well. Is it something like neverending cycle?

  • Why do sins exist?

    Why do punishments exist?

  • 07th Expansion sure are masters at presentation. I mean, the understanding of how to combine light and dark aspects of a story to make them more significant, the ability to apply the supernatural in an acceptable way, and even to make Jimang sound good.

  • pretty much

  • The truth of the matter is that, in fact, the almost-kissing is only fanservice. lol.

  • 1:19 O________O it was unexpected

  • Rika is the descendant of Hanyuu's husband, Furude Riku. Before Hanyuu was sacrificed for the sins of Onigafuchi's (former name of Hinamizawa) villagers, they had a child named Furude Oka. So Rika is the only one who can see Hanyuu because she is related to Hanyuu herself. That's just my theory anyway. And the wheel represents the endless cycle of fate which is a bloody loop event in Hinamizawa for its people.

  • I can't help but notice, everytime I watch this. RIKA DOESN'T HAVE A MOUTH. O____O

  • 1:10 - 1:12 satoko: hmmm where am i? Oh! boooobbbiess :]

  • @Jasupi911 Are you fucking kidding me? GTFO troll/pervert

  • whats with the aliens at the end

  • @vickiemadhead it is because this clip is taken from the first episode of Kai where Akasaka explains the file Takano gave to Rena "explaining" the origin of Hinamizawa Syndrome. I went back and checked it :D

  • @setsuna1f1seiei oh okay thanks

  • I have not looked through the comments yet, but I do not know how many people know that Rika is the reincarnation of Hanyuu's daughter. Yes, the same daughter that originally killed Hanyuu. They made a promise or something that eventually they would be together again if I am not mistaken.

  • @setsuna1f1seiei That applies mostly to Saikoroshi-hen, but for the most part they just happen to look alike.

  • @GodsendRiunite It is the reason Rika can see Hanyuu. Or at least that was my impression.

  • @setsuna1f1seiei, wait- WHAT?

Are you sure they don't just look alike?

  • All otehrs ending that poeple upload of that, the lyrics are wrong! When you see the eyes,it say something liek *Blisfull* not seductiviness@

  • I like this song!!!

  • I noticed this ending is oneshots from events that happen in the show or poses. Its strange because I never really looked at the ending themeXD

  • I never really watched the first ending, wasn't really that good, in my opinion.

But with this one, I used to watch it just for 0:54 onwards. It makes me feel so happy past there, I'm not even sure why. I love it.

  • @Crindles everytime i heard this song in my head, that was the part that played haha

  • MUCH better than the horrible Engrish ED

  • 1:18 that IS Yuri! its so cute ^w^

  • afaik Hanyuu stands for Religion or Faith in God (she IS a goddess after all ).

Rika and Hanyuu holding hands, hugging etc stands for the relation between a beliver and Religion /God. THAT is symbolism.

The better her relation to Hanyuu is, the better she can handle her life.

(btw not relating to any specific religion here, it's just fiction /an anime after all)

  • what symbolism? the wheel is inclined to ascertained as a matter of fate, white flaring light, as a sign of purity, innocence and parity. the moon, a idealistic beauty, and forlorn loss.. BUT thats from a western philosophical stand point (particularly greek). in the Japanese, eye.. its entirely different.

  • This is the best music EVER!!!! What episode do Hanyu come in?

  • @miasuky Yea! It's a really good song! Maybe not

the BEST though....and Hanyuu comes in on Kai ep.19

  • @miasuky first episode of 2nd season...

  • ***SPOILER!! *** I think...At least watch all of Higu episodes before reading!

I think that the Rena/ Mion is to symbolize the first Higu episodes. Then Shino/ Satoko is for the whole thing about Satoshi and Shion trying to kill Satoko. And then the last Rika/ Hanyuu is for the last episodes of Higu Kai and then the Rei episodes.

  • Kind of freaks me out how Rika doesn't have a mouth in the beginning... o__O

  • Adorable Song :)

  • Ahh, the last picture xD

I think Aliens are so scary D:

  • wow i really like this ending its awsome XD

  • i still find the whole shion hugging satoko thing weird to look at after how much she hated satoko in the first season and what she did lol

  • @ScuzzAsh I find it strange as well. I'm on the 6th chapter of the Higurashi VN and AFAIK Shion went from hating Satoko's guts to being kind of indifferent to her. I dunno. Maybe there's some plot concerning the two in the new chapters...

  • i really do love this show.

i don't know what else to say. it's amazing. and so sad. and suspenceful. and i just want to watch it over and over!

i finally bought the first season. i don't think they sell the second season in australia do they?

  • @xMeliMoonshinex You could probably buy a Japanese original copy of the internet, it usually has English subs but to buy a dub version is impossible for season two and three :3

  • i like higurashi <3

  • Does anyone save oops, where did the last image, which appeared a few bodies?

  • I'll Sprinkle Dirt Over Your Corpse

    Even If That's Forbidden

Behind This Wholsome Look Of Pleasure

    Is A Look Of Temptation

    Why Is There Sin?

    Why Is There Punishment?

The Tip Of Your Bone Is Too White.

    Inviting The Never Ending Darkness.

Everything May Seem Vivid And Brilliant,

    Soon To Disappear.

  • hermoso

  • Better than the first ending

  • This is just heartwarming. It's ironic that such an beautiful tale is told in such a bloody show. A 5 star ending for a 6 star show ^^ (srsly)

  • shit, ive been hearing this everyday and i cant stop. best ED on anime

  • Well of course I can tell the Miko outfit she's wearing stands for the day of Watanagashi, the trees symbolise the lostness that Rika feels and the wheel is for the cycle of June 1986 that she never ends.

  • If you watch one with subtitles, it talks about bones being white, and the desire to bury the bones, then at the end, saying how the "never-ending darkness" has come, making everything look brilliant. I think the bone is white because white is light (They said that at one point) and in the light, you see and know everything, and that represents the endless June, and Rika knowing what will happen. But when the darkness comes, you can't see, and won't know what will happen, and that represents the

  • @Pingypong101 period of time following the endless cycle of pain, because once Rika finally defeated it, she didn't know what would happen, and the unknowing darkness became a brilliant miracle all within itself.

  • How I interpret the symbolism: Trees-missing vitality, life that is meant to be but cannot flourish; Rika staring into sky-Rika's sorrow and isolation, the wind reminding her of bleak reality; Spinning wheel-continuous cycle of intricate events leading to the deaths; Rika and Mion-alluding to their murders (Rena's hand), their positions showing contrasting personalities, their closeness showing friendship; Shion and Satako-Shion's protection of Satako; Rika and Hanyuu's kiss-love, oneness

  • The best anime I have ever watched. Mysterious and suspense but also a very interesting plot.

  • 1:15 Now RikaxHanyuu fans have a reason for life.

    Rena and Mion - friends.

    Shion and Satoko - protection.

Rika and Hanyuu - "we are one"

    Thats my opinion.

  • @FreezingTiger RikuXHanyuu :3 Thats my fave part.

  • @Daovonnaex Stfu.

  • calidad a FULL 0:52 -1:20

  • beautiful and peaceful ending! it's melancholy, though, but i still luv it! :)

  • So cute! ^o^ They do kiss actually. :D But the hands block it. Pause at 1:19. You'll see it!

  • @Monesha94 They do not. They just get their lips extremley close to each other. :P

  • @uchihabros13 Well it looks like they kissed to me xD Let a fangirl have her moments! Lol

  • beautiful.....

  • I like how the lyrics and the pictures always gives you info about the story =)

  • This song always makes me cry.

  • Everyone's talking about "fate," but I'm thinking the wheel stands for that bit where Rika's endlessly cycling around and around.

You know. The entire plot of the series.

    D:<

  • @SomeBlueNowhere I lol'd.

  • @SomeBlueNowhere, I love your rage face at the end. XD

  • @SomeBlueNowhere or maybe because it's an anime and everything doesn't always mean something XD

  • maybe the reason they put hannyu and rika about to kiss or whatever they do is to show how they are like one but at the same time they aren't the same person. LIke haven't you ever heard sometimes some couples say "Oh i love him/her so much its like we are one person thats how close we are." that old saying "we are one." yeah maybe it shows that when they kiss or not and then they spearte really fast like saying no we aren't. but thats just what i think

  • @JapaneseMoonAngel

I think they did it as fanservice to the lolicons

  • @StWolfie -.-

  • @YoYoKirby1

    you know it's true

  • wow, its been almost a year since i watched this amazing series. sure brings back some good memories.

  • yep same here<3

  • I love this song... it's such a sad yet hopeful melody..

  • this make me feel sad about something

  • yea i no like i love the song but.............it makes me sad about something

  • this is so relaxing................

  • frick.. i cant wait until the last episode of rei next month.. but this ending makes me want to watch the whole anime over again but not knowing whats going to happen because it is so awesome..

    =]

  • Simply amazing, most beautiul ending ever in my opinion. If I listen to this I almost cry.

  • well, the one that destroyed those worlds wasn't Rika, that was the bad woman (don't say her name cause it is spoiler)

Didn't you see the first ep of kai? That was a "destroyed" world, where only rena was left alive. But Rika isn't in fault :S

  • it`s because of rikas death

    if sh dies evryone dies

sorry for spoiling but i had to say that

the ending is much better then i thought first i really like it :P

  • well, it's obvious that all of them die cause rika dies, but that doesn't mean she is the one destroying them. The culprit who kills her is the one in fault.

  • didn`t i say so ?

first i dint thought that hanyuu could be so important ^^

  • not every1 dies only those in hinamazawa althought keichi , and rena survived after rikas death in one of the worlds, so ye rikas death brings a lot of pain for a hundreds of years.

  • oh man i can't hold my guess in ......TAKANO? OH DAMMIT SHUT UP NO1ZELDA!

  • That is! The Worlds still there!

  • Hanyuu and Rika aren't killing O.o

They're just rubbing their noses. (well it looks like a kiss after all) *confused*

  • When Hanyuu and Rika kissed (IF they kissed) that was so cute. It's like they're close sisters. (which they pretty much are.) :'D

  • I agree, but I'm pretty sure they didn't kiss, it looked very close though.

  • This song has so much pain in it. Especially the last part of the song when it says

"asa ga kureba waraeru darou ka

ano hi no you ni waraeru darou ka

nakushita mono wa nani hitotsu nai to

    negau negaitsudzukeru"

"When the morning comes will I be able to smile?

Can I smile like I did that day?

Let me have lost nothing at all

    I wish, and wish again"

Makes me weep a little xD. Its really a good song for Higurashi.

  • The whole reason that the people who drew the anime had Rika's and Hanyuu's hands covering their lips were probably for you to decide if they really kissed or not and for you to interpret the message behind what you believe.

  • Nothing important, but did anyone notice how the flowers on the side at 1:02 and 1:05 match their clothes color?

  • None of you should know whether or not they kissed because their hands are covering their mouths at 1:19. o.o

  • Maybe, but if you play this back really slow, they tilt their heads slightly in different directions, and they both close their eyes when they get really close, but the hands are blocking. Even still, they smooched. Kawaii!

  • But if their hands are blocking it, then how can you see if they kissed? xD

  • I think the wheel stands for the endless cycle of tragedies.

  • It would fit the series' rebirth symbolism... The OP song says "don't become flowers of naraku" which is a Buddhist hell one goes through before being reborn.

...I also just noticed - that wheel is from DELETER screen set SE-1108 that comes with several if any artists want to order it... It looked familiar and I happened to have a copy lying around here.

  • ...Lol. xD

  • very nice :'(

  • In the begining when it just shows Rika, I think it symbolizes the way Rika lived through each of the summers, always on the outside looking in

  • Nope.

  • well, that's just how I see it. What do you think?

  • ok after seeing some of your other comments I'm kind of curious, are you completly against people looking for symbolism in things or something? ^_^lol

  • What symbolism.

  • hah.

The spiining wheel suggests Fate turning around and around, not knowing where it would stop. Renas hat flying off, would mean she had just been killed or whatever. Rena lying next to Mion suggests from the very first arc when Keiichi bashed them, you can see Rena's hand a bit retarded. Satoko and Shion is suggesting that Shion will protect her through anything, like a Mother Daughter thing.

  • Yup.

And in Japan, Flowers have a special meaning too.

I dont think, they were randomly chosen.

  • Improper use of commas make this sentence funny.

  • lilys symbolize a flower of death..

  • Or...Sister-sister thing, you mean?

Then again, Satoshi made a better father than Teppei ever would, so...

  • a three-year-old would make a better father then Teppei. X3

  • OMG... You´re really intelligent

  • Her hand is retarded!? LMAO

  • from the fourth episode in season one, when keichii slaughters mion and rena

  • Rena's hat flying off mean one of the arcs where she disappears and all they find is her hat on a mountain

  • umm okay....but still to me it sounds like it :P me no care what anyone thinks

  • Wow, you're the complete opposite of me. I see tons of symbolism.

  • Thats a beautiful song.

  • I fucking love this song.

    So peaceful and calming.

  • Xtremely interestin

  • XDD how adorible...

  • Do you guys know some other song like that ? I really loveeeeeeee this song and I cant find other like that

  • well yes i do... the other higurashi songs r just like this one, if ur interested write a private message to me, i can send them to u or tell u where u can download all kinds of anime songs ;P

  • wow is this like the only song shes made thats really sad for such a beautiful voice and talent

  • Swett ^^

  • this is a pretty song^^

  • I love this anime!

  • this song makes me cry so much!!! i dont know why!

  • rena's arm is broken mion's har is all over aroun maybe it is plucked or cut i dunno and around them a red conture (suggesting blood/death) rena's hat flew off (suggesting as the last time rena lost her hat she was dead or berely alive)the spining cirle (suggesting fate as in there are spikes, but those spikes lead to the center=lead to 1 point death) either rena's boots are red or it's wounds i dunno and i think they weren't kissing just touching by foreheads dunno rly that's all i think ^_^

  • well dough almost in all kei n original eps rika ends up dead! when the last time in higurashi they found rena's hat it was all bloody n they said "it's her favorite she couldn't of just loose it" and she was actually dead or barely alive. stupid or not that was my opinion, the person that did upload this asked "do u see any symbolism in this?" and i answered so get over it

  • go bother some1 else i'm busy (n btw if u hate how i write then don't read)

  • it doesnt matter if they kissed. if you watch the seiries you will understand that they are very close to each other, so why not?

  • guys it doesnt matter if they kissed

    if u wanna know

just watch hamlet and u under stand

    i think XD

  • I'm really interested in symbolism, but I wasn't able to find any in this ending.

    Could someone help me?

BTW Does it matter if they kissed or not? It's my favorite part of this ending and I think it's beautiful no matter if they kissed or not

  • (sorry this is a late reply) bt you see the symbolism where renas hand looks crooked while shes laying next to mion (remember they got bashed with a bat by keiichi and you could see renas arm be broken) and then satoshi and shion were hugging as a mother would hold there child(shion remembered tht satoshi wanted her to look after satoko after she killed her). sorry; long explanation. haha ^-^

  • Oh, I see it now! LOL I'm so slow sumtimes XD

    Thank you!

  • oh no problem! it took me a while too lol

  • i think the blue moon, white trees, rikas dancing stick (the thing miss tokano or somethin told keiichi and shion about how it was a symbol of a sacrifice thing and what they did it with) and the shrine i dunno though? tell me if im wrong! ^_^

  • i actually havent finished watching the first season hehe ^.^" so i wouldnt know yet lol bt im sure your right ^-^

  • Yes, Rika's stick is a device to torture, to rip up the stomach while the person is still alive and then pull the organs out, to be exact xD

  • so it is! ha ha grusome just like the anime I LIKE IT!!!

  • Nice ending =) I love it.
