The US government should support Puntland to fight piracy, clearly this is the best choice at the moment.
And UAE and other countries have already started programs which seem to work.

I challenge the maker of this video to bring evidence to prove his point. This documentary is riddled with falsities. Perhaps that's why it has received some many negative reviews and has been slammed as being sensationalistic.

When piracy moved to the region known as Galmudug, the pirates began to become more violent, taking people hostage and killing others. This is because these pirates were not fishermen, but Somali militias from in-land who are only after money. The fisherman with legitimate reasons to become pirates have gone back to their fishing as their objective has been met ( trawlers have disappeared). Now gangs and an militias are the "pirates". People need to distinguish between the two.

It's true that the origins of Somali piracy are in Puntland ( where 80% of the fishers in Somalia live). Fishermen were fighting for their way of life. There cause was legitimate ( fighting against trawlers and vessels dumping toxic waste). However, this video is very misleading. Since 2009, piracy in Puntland has decreased and piracy moved down the coast to a region known as Galmudug. President Faroole is in no way connected to piracy and there are no warlords in Puntland.
