  • Are you going to Heaven or hell?

  • cooken set ...

  • I love how every version of this song he plays is different and still awesome.

  • sounds like hand jive in the beginning.

  • Special guest appearance from jesus christ on the keyboard thats a bonus

  • I didn't know that Dr. House could play guitar.

    :P

  • @Alrreola bad joke, house even plays guitar on the show. fail

  • Comment removed

  • @Alrreola i think the real dr.

house is in a band himself

  • @Alrreola actually, Hugh Laurie sings (if you can call it "singing" ;) ). He has at least one LP on his account. It's a pretty nice piece of blues.

  • @Alrreola well actually thats not much of a joke since House can actually play guitar. There are a few episodes of him playin some leads

  • @Alrreola clearly you've never seen house.

  • What the fucking fuck is that "Tha Crossroads" that has a shit ton more views than this?

When I search "Crossroads" I expect one thing, and it 'aint any old black dude that thinks he can make music.

  • @XenoJack0 What do u expect? that shitty film from BRITNEY SPEARS?!

  • @XenoJack0 if youre referring to robert johnson, then youre an idiot. lets look at the related videos. i see hendrix, muddy waters, robert johnson, and bb king. are they "any old black dude that thinks they can make music"

  • Comment removed

  • Robert Johnson did call and response on one fucking guitar by himself and it takes an entire band for Clapton......

  • There's no crowd cos this is Clapton's own jamming studio

  • Ive seen him live 3 times and wow his concerts are amazing such a thrill to see a living legend like him live

  • reggae this song much? Bad ass mofos i tell ya.

  • Eric Clapton's one of the best.

  • Played to willie and the hand jive! Sucks, Hendrix plays it to redhouse and crossroads as one song like nothing else. Check it out.

  • What SRV sounds like on a bad day. :)

  • 人気動画だな。

  • Was this taken from a documentary/rockumentary or something???

  • @GreenKnightPendragon documentary/rockumentary? Spinal tap much?

  • Whose solo is greater, Jerry's or Eric's??? ;)) I think Jerry's!

  • simply fucking BRILLIANT!!!:D

  • @JASONCALEDONIA Really

  • Really?

  • Omg can we please have the 67/68 Clapton back? Ty!

  • Yep, sounds just like "Hand Jive", one of the beauty's of the blues, fairly simple, yet so versatile. Thank E.C. and many others for carrying on the real blues tradition

  • my comment to all clapton songs is, 'clapton is god'...that does not mean i worship him or anyone or anything else. it just means that i think he is the beginning and the end of guitar playing! just sayin...

  • English dude with an American singing voice..

  • Clapton is

    (Fill it in)

  • Thats not CrossRoadBlues from Robert Johnson!!!!!!!!!

That is not the same song, because you cant play this song with drums and keyboard. You only can play this song with one guitar and a slide.

    greetings from germany

  • Oh well, prefer something else from Clapton, I do love to listen to him, but somethin better for my life's blues.

  • @kk99ll This is fantastic! I'm new to all of this. Is the video avail to purchase or is there a way to get a copy or down load it. It just blew me away the first time i watched. Still does. I play harp and Jerry Portnoy does an incredible job in this. Just enough to make you want more. Mr. Clapton is one of the best ever - no doubt.

  • @zachk503 Type dvdvideosoft into google, you'll find some free software there, that will do the job

  • amazing

  • clapton is god...dont care what the rest of you think :-)

  • @grandmajulie13 Some people just can't live without someone to worship. If not someone, then something...

  • Eric Clapton... why doesn't he stick to playing "Wonderful tonight" I'ts just embarrasing to hear him sing this..... he's really not that great a guitar player either

  • @dutgaard dont talk ridiculous

  • @dutgaard hahahahaha nice sarcasm

  • @dutgaard thank you! someone agrees that this guys a lump of shit!

  • great song... soft drums... (son clave 3-2) very good solos :)

  • Clapton is good but he will never be on the level of Muddy Waters and Robert Johnson. He is more like their son who they would be proud to see playing to day. Waters and Johnson started it all. If not for them there would be no Clapton or Dylan.

  • @BENNYSIEGEL90 Claiming that Johnson and Waters "started it all" is a bit presumptous. Musical influence doesn't start or stop. The two you mentioned were also influenced by earlier music, and so it goes, all the way back to.... I don't know, the first guy ever to bang a stone on someone's head with a steady beat? Nobody ever creates anything new and unique. It's all just different influences, and the first ones to get famous by mixing something new and unlikely, is often labelled a genious.

  • Robert Jonson was the greatest he inspired Eric Clapton, Robert Cray and Stevie Ray Vaughn along with many others! I had his 4 boxed tape set (remember those! :) His copy of his birth certificate was included and said died by jealous husband who killed him in a bar when he saw him with his wife

  • the first fucking solo is one of the best solos I've ever heard, I just can't stop listening to it...

  • Yes, he is. But that is not Steve Gadd.

  • @warrenart

    my fault, you're correct..

  • @warrenart

btw, i thought this drummer was ok. why do you dislike him? are you a drummer?

  • @cavo505 He looks very stiff and at times seems to loose the beat. Also, he bangs incessantly on that cowbell which seems totally inappropriate to a blues number. The beat is the Bo Didley signature beat which he used time and time again. Clapton has adopted it here to the Robert Johnson tune very immaginatively. Overall, I like the performance, but the drummer and bass could have been better. John

  • @warrenart I agree, he probably should've played mostly on the lower toms and hat, much more power that way, he plays this as if he's playing reggae, which is a totally different feel than this.

  • @willwelsh816 haha since you can play so much better

  • @jcf53191 it's actually much easier to play it the other way haha. It's like he's overdoing it here.

  • Fabulous!

  • Why is Lord Sugar providing the voice over at the start?

  • damn he looks a lot like Doctor House

  • simplemente genial

  • esto se define solo en una palabra,MAESTROS

  • What's wrong with that drummer??? Acts like he is playing a completely different tune. Lay off the cowbells etc. He sucks. And the bass is no Nathan East. Despite that it is a great solo by Clapton.

  • @warrenart

Steve Gadd is a great drummer.

  • luv ths totally funky version - mr johnson would b so very proud

  • lol he is like chuck norris :D

  • Does anybody know the name of the harp player?

  • @stojancina

    Jerry Portnoy

  • @stojancina you mean harmonica?

  • @stojancina he's world class

  • I like this version too. Of course, his hard rock blues of Crossroads is great also.

  • @kk99ll i cant find that citate on the mobile version on youtube thank you tough!

  • why is there no crowd?

  • @dionreload Final Rehearsal

  • @dionreload because it is a one man show :))))

  • @dionreload

    Rehearsals "from the cradle" tour

Recorded in New York on 28th September 1994

  • @kk99ll Looks like a church ?

  • Respond to this video... Best Fender player, best player ever. Right Ace Frehley!

  • Is John Stewart on the harmonica? lol

  • God, he sounds so white and 80's. He may be technically good at playing the guitar, but everything else about his musical endeavors suck big time

  • Original is better.....

  • he isnt one of the best he is the best in the world rock on eric clapton hes the blues god..

  • @DBPRODUCTIONS101 blues god? na johnson is for me

  • this is willie and the hand jive...

  • like the rhythm of this, a bit slower..more classic rock..and some blues touches..

  • 90 people just get blown away by the awesome solos in the song.

  • Blues at its best !

  • Hardly. White men can't play blues

  • @babajamiaco Small correction to what I said before: perhaps excluding Peter Green

  • the 90 people who dis like this must not know god music

  • I miss songs like this... :/

  • Clapton kinda looks like Dr. House nowadays

  • @afrobeatle10 Agree :D

  • If I could cut a deal at the crossroads, I wanna trade Eric Clapton( and his clumsy hands ) for one 'Robert Johnson'. : )

  • Doesn't this riff seem a lot like the one from the song "Willie and the Hand Jive" from the "461 Ocean Boulevard" album?

  • today my 50th birthday. and i feel this fucking cool rythm. its great. (irgendwann, ja irgendwann kostet mich das leben das leben. aber bis dahin werd ich es mir wtf geben!!)

  • who is this drummer?

  • @radarman818

    Drummer = Andy Newmark

I love his playing in this song!

  • I'm cool with people's bad taste, i don't care that much if some rather listen to justin bieber and whatnot then to good music... i'm just confused... why would youtube suggest me Mylei Cyrus - Party in the U.S.A when i'm listening to the godlike Eric Clapton?

  • got the bo diddley bea/ willy and the hand jive too Johnny otis

like listening to a reggae robertjohnson paulbutterfield and more

oh yeah clapton is ok too. smoke em if you got em.

  • who's john mayer

  • @32heyjoe An asshole who only has success in the pop charts but then tries to get some blues credibility by using his fame to line-up gigs with blues legends because he thinks he is the second coming of SRV. (I know you were being sarcastic).

  • @AdamIowa89 ohhhhhhhhh

  • @32heyjoe Haha. Indeeeeeed

  • I love Eric Clapton !!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1992 from the cradle one of the best clapton albums along with journeyman and all his cream stuff the man is a legend

  • My Pal Phil "Phibber" Munchausen claims he was responsible for the whole Clapton is God campaign. He sprayed" Clapton is Good" on walls in London, but spelling was never his strong point..

  • @Hurley5647 dawg u b deaf....go look at his i shot the sherriff solo and tell me he doesnt hav skill....

  • no one invented the guitar riff we all play it stop generalizing

  • @Hurley5647 why dnt u go look up the story between each and every one of these songs....every song hes made has meaning bhind it....and if it doesnt he stops playing it....tears in heaven was one of his most famous songs....he chose to stop playing it bcuz he doesnt feel the pain he went through with it....and he feels its important to project feeling....if u think hes shit u make songs tht r bttr....CLAPTON IS GOD

  • @Hurley5647 woww...ur a retard....

  • @Hurley5647 dnt b hating on clapton....he has done robert johnson justice

clapton is one of the most inflluental guitarists of all time and one of the greatest....hes grew up listenin to the kings of the blues: muddy waters, howlin wolf, bb king, robert johnson and he now joins them as one of the kings

  • @Hurley5647 his might reassert your faith in the blues. watch?v=8OLK_HSyy1U

  • If u guys dont know who Robert Johnson is... he pretty much invented the guitar riff.

  • 86 PEOPLE DON'T HAVE THERI LIFE! !

  • 86 people are Justin Beaber fans

  • @RockinRollBand09 fantastic comment rockinrollband09 just wandering how many got it lol

  • @RockinRollBand09 Thats why he's called slow hand

  • @RockinRollBand09 Not necessarily the man upstairs. Search you tube for "Futurama - The Devil's hands are idle playthings"

  • @RockinRollBand09

I've only seen the type of reply a million difference ways, how creative.

  • 84 dumbasses in a pair tree

  • @Led19Roses: Dave 's not here man.

  • Eric Clapton for 1 minute... Or um i cant think of anything else better than that :D

  • The harp person is great. Who is he?

  • ERIC CLAPTON TRIVIA:

Eric is the only artist to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times. He was inducted as part of The Yardbirds in 1992, as part of Cream in 1993, and as a solo artist in 2000.

  • @jasonteten Trivia number 2 he has only ever had one solo number one hit in america. And it was a coverrrr?!?! I Shot the Sheriff BABY

  • you dont have to play fast fingers in guitar playing,.because fast

fingers will take you only hours of practice,.but the feeling of

blues music will take you years and even decades to get thru

it..blues is easy to play but it is hard to feel..its not how fast

your finger is,it is how you play the note..thats why eric clapton

is i think one of the best guitarist in the world.

  • @jasonteten Ahhh it kinda is both. You cant play a slow tempo when everything else is fast... Drummer, Yo man what are you doing??? Guitarist, Im playing with feeling takin it slow. Drummer, You lost the beat like in the begginning.

    See what i meen?

  • @jasonteten I dont necessarily think it takes years to get. Maybe for some people but i think it takes something that cant be learned.

  • @jasonteten

    You are totaly right!

  • @jasonteten That is so true. Only bit wrong is Clapton is the best guitarist in the world

  • @jasonteten That's not your opinion, it's fact.

  • when chuck norris plays guitar, his stage name is ERIC CLAPTON

  • Credit where credit is due as they say .To last this long at the top of your game youve got to tip your hat to clapton ..

  • Eric Clapton: Most. Over-rated. Guitarist. Ever.

  • @acrovader if you are basing that opinion solely on this song then you should listen to his other songs like Old Love and Layla- while i personally dont think Clapton is the best guitarist ever, i dont think he is overrated, and i would be interested on hearing why you think this and who you would consider good guitarists

  • @acrovader Listen to his stuff with Cream and John Mayall, and tell me if he is over rated. Especially steppin out with cream and Have you heard with Mayall.

  • I can play bass on this song :-P

  • 1:16

    ...

    xD

  • this.... is music...

  • Riff sounds very much like "Willie and the Hand Jive" .

  • THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT?!

  • ....and even Clapton has his bad moments ....not too many though

  • I was only referring to this song, which is a bad version. However, have a look at ALL his songs in "Live in Hyde Park" DVD and you will se that, regardless of Fender or Gibson, he still hangs out as "God"

  • I don't like it either!

  • @PepeMoreno49 God is dead when he switched to the Fender.

  • I don't like this version of crossroads

  • Look up a kid named Cyamak Ashtiani, just type his name into the youtube search engine, he is seriously an UNBELIEVABLE guitarist.... Strange, out of the box, INCREDIBLE guitar playing.....you'll be blown away

  • Woke up in the middle of the night with a blog entry relating to this song crossroads... I think this is the best version I have heard. love Clapton's passion & emotions as he plays.

  • Comment removed

  • I don't think it captured the emotion Johnson was trying to convey...

  • Terrible. Mr C's taken one of the most emotive, anguished songs ever recorded, and turned it into some kind of soulless, jaunty little ditty.

  • @dustmonkey Yeah what the hell happend to him?
