Maybe Starcraft is just too old. It's hard to compare games that are a decade apart.

Any such list has to have C&C Generals and Company of heroes. C&C 3 with Kane's wrath should also be on anybody's top 10.

The total war games are great but just not as much fun in my opinion.

If a game has all the elements that dune II has than you consider it too be RTS.

The correct term for this youtube video & many others should be Top 'Strategy' Games.

Since there are some subdivisions namely: Real-time Strategy (RTS), Turn-based Strategy (TBS), Real-time tactics (RTT), Turn Based Tactics (TBT).

@Clavsicus medieval 2 sucks. the units keep messing up orders in that game. i instructed my cavalry to flank a bogged down enemy infantry unit right next to it, and instead it charged at an unoccupied enemy spearman unit nearly twice the distance away

@wengkeat5 That's reality, they won't always hear you, or let their proud control them. usually works if u hold Alt then click on area u want to send them. Just as if u wanted to use arechers to attack at melee, u also press Alt.

im trying to find out about a game. it was a real time strategy game (like c&c, age of empires ect) based around genetic engineering. pretty old skool. i think around the time of total anihilation. each beast had interchangeable parts and weapons. i vaguely remember one was called a jubjub. also you could get these cool javelin throwing weapons.

I hate things like this :| Honestly, how do people forget the greatest RTS games of all time.

The likes of Total Annhiliation and Starcraft still have huge communitys that businesses wished they could have. Both TA and Starcraft have defined RTS gaming better than any other game.

Honestly TA is considered the big daddy of RTS games of today and SC is easily on par with it.

and for it being turn based, you have to have a turn bases world map, cause no computer in the world can make the TOTAL WAR world/campain map in the detail of the Total War battle map.. and stratigy games can be turnbases anyway
