The true beauty of working with wood is that eventually TIME as a construct disappears. There was/is a reason that Jesus was a Master Carpenter...keep communing with the higher purposes of your time and effort! BTW->looks great!
Just curious - why did you elect to go with a let-in brace rather than a mortised brace? I believe that structurally, the mortised brace compromises the strength of the members it triangulates less. Nice fit, though.
whats amazing about this type of construction and the precision of your work especially is that these joints will actually get stronger with time as the wood fibers join. fantastic job. You should make furniture(if you don't already).
You have a real eye for this kind of joinery. I bet with whatever project you work on you give it your best & don't cut any corners. Looking good Cody!
Very impressive work! It looks seemless from here. With the amount of quality you are putting into this timber frame structure, I have no doubt that your great great grandchildren will be enjoying it, good Lord willing.
I have always liked timber framing and like these videos. timber framing the way you do it is a lesson in the classic way of doing it.

Couple of things......
Dont use soap to lubricate bolt threads..... soap attracts water...... use bees wax.
Dont have PO equipment lying around.... plastic tub says USPS.
Fabulous job.
