I rarely finish this choke these days my training partners defend this very well. It's still a sweet set up for a wrist lock though. Yes, I love wrist locks
Love gracie jiu jitsu. Got to meet Royler. And train in a Gracie Certified gym. Weighing 135 lbs, size no longer intimdates me. And paul vunaks JKD for more then one opponet. Gracie Jiu Jitsu for life!!!

i actually tried this one choke on my twin brother, but with a closer look it seems i wasnt doin it right. plz post a how to video on it, I would llove to continue helios legacy by perfecting his favorite choke.
i usually sink 1st hand into the collar deep real deep with a real good grip... say im staring at u face 2 face i have my gripped fist on ur collar at about 10 or 11 o'clock on ur neck. once i have that i take my other arm around ur back and grab ur opposite shoulder as u can see in vid his 2nd hand on shoulder has elbow behind the head... throw the elbow over the head and pull into urself pulling across wit 1st hand and using 2nd hand to keep his jaw str8. make sure u have 1st hand under jaw :D
If you want to continue Helio's legacy, join a school and learn the core fundamentals of the art. Helio's legacy is not learning techniques from youtube.
he grabs the inside of the collar with his hand and does the same on the opposite side making his hands cross in an X shape (thats why its called the x choke) then he pulls inward and teh bones in his wrist put pressure on his corroded arteries causing the person to go to sleep if they dont tap
This is why Jiu Jitsu is a beautiful sport. When it is winter, or it gets cold and you go with your girl to a party, have fun, then there is the typical bastard picking on fights or thinks he could hit on your girl because he is bigger and more intimidating.Little does he know his jacket/coat can replace a GI.:)It's the best sport, self-defense and you don't have to worry about spilling or getting your hands dirty of blood. You never know what kind of dirty disease one might have in a stret fight
you know, pretty much anything works against someone untrained but the blood thing is very true... i would grapple in an unfair fight anyway, but that's just another reason

@drseth00789 agreed. he smashed his head on the mat the first few times too
DMxNemesis 1 year ago
I love the slamming of the head against the mat. That's what jiu-jitsu is all about..:P
Just kidding, nice technique and probably legal if you don't hit the mat. But shit happens.

I like how he was ruthlessly shaking him to pop the choke under the chin. I know it's for good technique, but it just looks mean!!

Yes.

ya its not like he is striking his face! he is just shaking him tighten up the choke.
Armbar4you 2 years ago 5
yeah, just shaking the shin and devastanding it!
IzReticuli 2 years ago
I think he's right, he was shaking in order to get under the chin and apply the finish.
sickstyle83 2 years ago 17
@sickstyle83 It's called shaking the baby. Perfect example of the technique...needed when opponent is tucking chin hard to stop choke.
