  • i love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Actually, this film is no longer copyrighted, since it was released before January 1, 1923. The music, on the other hand, might be.

  • @natethefighter Under recent revisions to Title 17 of the US Code, a copyright may be extended to life of the creator plus 70 years. Harold Lloyd died in 1971 so the Harold Lloyd Trust will extend ownerhip of this movie until 2041. They vigorously guard their intellectual property rights. Try to upload ANY Lloyd movie, no matter how old, and see what happens to your YT account. They have been very gracious to me as I have cooperated with them fully and always asked for permissions.

  • I wonder if any of the four kids in the background when Ernie first appears went on to be his "Our Gang" co-stars.

  • @dadoctah I think Ernie Morrison was the only one who "got out" into a world of some success.

  • luv this!!

  • God I love Harold Lloyd. I giggled so much at the muted-trumpet swearing substitute. XD

  • Luv the fashion XD

  • Did he just hold a lighted match over the gas-tank? i am not sure that would be a recomended practise these days (wonder what the stuff in the needle was?)

  • @slainwolf180 Well. It wasn't COCA cola.

  • @preservationhall01 Did people really use a burning match to see how much was left in the tank?

  • @slainwolf180 No, they didn't. This old silent is supposed to be a comedy of ridiculous situations.

  • @slainwolf180 And I think he lost his finger over that bit. Not shown, of course, but Harold Loyd lost a finger during filming. If you look at his right hand in the first part when he shakes hands with the dream groom, you can tell he's wearing a glove, with one finger a prostheses. Talk about sacrificing for your art!

  • @corinthianimp - He didn't lose the finger during filming. He lost it in an accident during a photo shoot, when a prop bomb turned out to be a real one. I believe the film he was making at the time of the photo shoot was "Haunted Spooks".

  • Thanks for posting this, that bank sign that said Palms on it is an area in west LA next to Culver City. Fun to see the area back then, and the kid who was bugging Lloyd was Ernie (Sunshine Sammy) Morrison who was in the silent Our Gang comedies and later in the East-side Kids comedies at Monogram, the all time classic "Spooks run Wild" from 1943.

  • @rawdog001 Thanks for your info. Now I knpw where I've seen that kid before!!PH01

  • Isn't there an old movie with this song actually sung with the lyrics?

  • The great movie by ken burns, HORATIO'S DRIVE, uses this song as its theme. I have an Edison cylinder of it I've been planning to video and post, but haven't gotten round to it. Billy Murray sang the original.

  • @Custom09 maybe because its a silent movie, you arent going to here any sounds except the music (sarcastic voice)

  • Well you do a great job.Keepind the old films alive .good job#1

  • very cool.btw where do you get all this old films?

  • All of this is so old, I can't remember.
