this song reminds me of the 4 boys lost in Grande Prairie, Alberta on October 22, 2011. One man decided too make the stupid decision too drink and drive, and hit the car they were in, killing 4 out of 5 teenage boys immediately and leaving 1 in a coma for 11 days. 2 of the boys didn't even get too have a 16 birthday and another had too spend his in the hospital. Their families are still going crazy. R.I.P Tanner 15(now 16), Walter 15, Matthew 16, and Vince 16. I miss you, Keep Fighting Zach. <3

this is in response to tristan 7421 the war in afganistan is not about the oil or the money its the fact that teorrists attacked the twin towers on september 11 2001 which the united states of america took as an act of war and retalliated the canadians only got involved in 2002 because we are backing the states up.

I like this song. It's not only beautiful but has a good message. We never talk about the loss of life enough when considering war, if we did there would be way less of it. But it always blows my mind that people can be so compassionate about an american or canadian soldier loosing their life but not about the huge number of civilians that die in our combat zones. the number of civilians dead out number fighters by at least 2:1. Because the vast VAST amount of actual combat soldiers are male, and the vast majorities of our casulties are male. There are exceptions but its like making a video celebrating male nurses, not terribly accurate or realistic when the vast majority of nurses are females and the vast majority of soldiers are male.

My husband is currently deployed in Afghanistan and it's very true how many civilians go about there days not giving a second thought to the men and women serving over there and giving there lives. I know how you feel, my uncle, my dad, my brother and my bf all went into the army and my uncle came back but he died later that year from lied poisoning from a bullet, I havn't seen my dad, he won't be coming back, my brother died on hes way there (he didn't even make it there) and my bf he's still alive out there somewhere and I hope he'll be back holding me and keeping me safe soon!

We give support and love to all male soldiers through songs but where are the ones about our women?

Because the vast VAST amount of actual combat soldiers are male, and the vast majorities of our casulties are male. There are exceptions but its like making a video celebrating male nurses, not terribly accurate or realistic when the vast majority of nurses are females and the vast majority of soldiers are male.

Country music is the best.. it doesn't need to be about sex or drugs (ie// 90% of rap) to be good. I love country music, because almost all of the songs have a story behind it, its not some stupid beat with the same words repeated over and over again. It means something, thats what i like about it. Great son btw, my friend is shipping off on monday to Iraq. This song makes me a little sad that he's going, i hope he'll be ok.

wow, i've never heard this song before, very true and moving. My husband is currently deployed in Afghanistan and it's very true how many civilians go about there days not giving a second thought to the men and women serving over there and giving there lives. Thank you for this song Aaron, it's beautiful! God bless all our fallen soldiers, gone but never forgotten

great song. hey tjvgriffy i just had a couple of friends come back from afgan. a few weeks ago and they are just wanting to go back. I told them that they must have balls to go back. they said "its not about having courage to go back, its about being with your buddies and making sure that they come home." you also have no reason to be ashamed man for not going. just show your support to our boys out there and never forget.

me and my friends are going into grade 12 and my best friend is joining the military once he turns 18.hell probly be going to afgahnistan. and i wish i could go with him to keep him safe. but iam not strong enough (musculer) or have the courage. and iam ashamed.

hey dont worry about being ashamed, i also was going to join up with the forces but i am not mentally prepared to take on the responsibility, so dont worry about it just support your friend and stand behind him and give him support and you will be helping him out a lot, plus if you can always work out to get the strength needed then you can go and joina nd help out your friend, ok buddy?

I really love this song. It just makes me think. About how many soilders died for us. So we can be free to live, to be ourselves. And out there, people are being killed. & I imagine what it would be like. How would I feel if my father, my brother, hell a part of my family was killed. I can't even beign to imagine what its like to get that call.

I know how you feel, my uncle, my dad, my brother and my bf all went into the army and my uncle came back but he died later that year from lied poisoning from a bullet, I havn't seen my dad, he won't be coming back, my brother died on hes way there (he didn't even make it there) and my bf he's still alive out there somewhere and I hope he'll be back holding me and keeping me safe soon!
