I can't search Actor's Studio without a TON of Robin Williams. He is easy to like for anyone. Funny and laughter are great medicine.....and so is Robin Williams!!
Damn, I've heard of Awakenings (with Robin) and been a fan of Oliver's for a few years but never put two and two together. Must track down the film now.
Wow, it's amazing how people have similar reactions when they are uncomfortable with something. My guess is at 4:14 those people don't agree with Einstein's take on God.
Funny to watch someone else writing that a well, I was talking with my girlfriend about this last week, after watching a movie with Robin, and I said that if I could pick another father it would have been him! He seems so kind!
Yeah and isn't the girl next to the blonde one Amy Walker? She's an incredibly talented actress and a YouTuber. I think her YT acc is yadayada/amiablewalker or something. I watched her 21 accents video.
Holy cripes, they do! It's as if they saw themselves peripherally in a monitor when the camera cut to them, and in some self-conscious act of nervous mimicry, imitated the guy in front.
My favourite performances are (in no particular order) Good Moring Vietnam, Awakenings, Aladdin, Toys, Fisher King, Dead Poets Society plus ANY of his stand ups - Live '82 from San Fancisco, Live at the Met, Live on Broadway -- and his comeback special - live in Washington -Weapons of Self Destruction. His serious roles always have that warm touch of humanity in them..
look how uncomfortable he gets at 3:25... i 'have no passion' in psychology but you can see how out of place he feels when his wrestling coach is brought up. hmm...
Wow, I read one of Olver Sacks's books a long time ago - I had know idea about this side of him. I didn't know that the movie Awakenings and the Oliver Sacks book "Awakenings" was one and the same. Interesting.
Aladdin's his best at animated films. For actual live-action movies, I have to go with Toys or Fisher King for his best performance. Best comedic performance from Robin????......too damn many to count.....
Dead Poets Society has and always will be my favourite performance from Williams. Slightly biased because it's one of my favourite movies, but still. Just ... wonderful.
Oh I see. Well I'm glad you think he's talented. Jakob the Liar!! Forgot about that one. That was a good movie. I've only seen snippets of "The Birdcage" but what I saw looked great. I still haven't seen "Moscow on the Hudson" or "The Fisher King" but I would like to. I recently saw "What Dreams May Come" and found it to be an interesting premise but the storyline seemed a bit discombobulated. Did anybody else think so?
You've got to see "Moscow on the Hudson". Robin learned Russian AND how to play the saxophone for the role. Either one of those is a tremendous accomplishment. Very impressive indeed.
I agree with your comment on "What Dreams May Come". It was mediocre and predictable. But it did have some cool special effects.
Insomnia was an amazing movie.....The thing about him is that He's not just comedian but a very serious actor and Extremely creepy in his roles! What an amazing person overall!!!!

Oh gosh yeah. You know what it took me a minute to realise you were talking about one hour photo..lol. Yeah its all coming back to me, i watched that movie more than a year ago. I also just loved his delivery, especially where he says .."and if you dont mind, a beautiful home" Ooh creep, creep, creepy!

Dead Poets Society sucked. In fact, most of Robin's movies suck. There's one exception, however, and that is Goodwill Hunting. He was brilliant in that film.
I would disagree, Dead Poet's Society was very well done, as was Patch Adams. And many of his other films. I respect him as an actor and as a human being because it is obvious that he is an intelligent, knowledgeable person who tries to seep up all of the information that he can in life, and it shows in his work.
I take it back. I took a look at his filmography and now will state that he was also brilliant in "Moscow on the Hudson", "The Fisher King", and "The Birdcage". But the rest of his movies pretty much sucked. I'm not saying he's untalented, I'm just saying most of the movies he's been in suck. He also sucked in "Mork and Mindy".
From the right top side in the first girl in the back is already touching her lips before anyone else evn touches the mouth, defanitly an odd catch by the camera man
Haha yeah good eye looks like the girl with the dark hair has something in her mouth and or is messing with her lips the blond girl is like scraping her teeth and the dude touching his nose or something.
Meh nothing wrong with having an opinion but however your words are laced with a little too much venom razor.
Good Morning Vietnam is an example of how he can make you tear up with both laughter and harsh reality. Not so much an opinion as it is a fact.
Mr Williams here is certainly not overrated. Repeats the same jokes? No. I think you're confused with the "same style" that he'll deploy his acts with. Improv. is pretty much him all over.
His humour is as modern as the rest of the best stand-ups
Amen to that. I cant get enough of this man[and i dont mean in a sexual way]I laugh with every look and word he comes up with, and the versatility that he shows to do movies like GoodMorning Vietnam and Mrs Doubtfire is amazing. Im not saying anything new here but HE IS REALLY ONE OF A KIND....Robin, You are the second man I love, the first one is my dad.
most overrated "comic actor" ever..all noise, not much substance, repeats same voice & jokes from a decade ago, commits the worst acts of "scenery chewing" of any movie actor..his "dramatic" roles are overly sentimental because he does not have any authenticity to bring to a role..without his schtick he's a totally empty void..Bill Murray, who doesn't approach his more dramatic roles with the shameless self importance of Williams , continues to grow and do great work...and he's funnier
What ever you are smoking, you might think about giving it up. Robin is one of the very best to ever grace the stage. He is the guy who so many people in the industry look up to. There isn't anyone else who can go from topic to topic, and be funny and consistent like him. As for his dramatic roles...they were some of the best in their time, if not all time. Good Morning Vietnam is still of the best movies ever.
